(a) Charges and Specifications.— Charges and specifications against an accused in a military commission under this chapter shall be signed by a person subject to chapter 47 of this title under oath before a commissioned officer of the armed forces authorized to administer oaths and shall state—

(1) that the signer has personal knowledge of, or reason to believe, the matters set forth therein; and

(2) that such matters are true in fact to the best of the signer’s knowledge and belief.

(b) Notice to Accused.— Upon the swearing of the charges and specifications in accordance with subsection (a), the accused shall be informed of the charges and specifications against the accused as soon as practicable.

After Homer suffers a brain injury at work, Mr. Burns offers his family tickets in a luxury sky box at a hockey game as compensation. Lisa receives a player's hockey stick for shouting advice to him during the game. However, termites, which were living in the stick, end up eating away at the entire Simpson house. An exterminator says their house should be tented and fumigated, and they cannot return for six months. However, the family has no place to go. They tried to stay with Lenny and then Comic Book Guy but their apartments were too weird. At Moe's, their last resort, Barney and Carl inform the Simpsons about a reality show, where a family is put in a Victorian house, where they must live like it was the year 1895. Homer is reluctant at first, but then they go to the reality show.

At the studio, the executives screen many families and finally they settle on the Simpsons, after viewing Homer's overreactions over nothing. They are taken to the Victorian house and shown around by the Network Executive, who says that they will be filmed round the clock. The only thing of the 20th century there is a "Confessional Room", which is a small room with a video camera where they say what they feel about the lifestyle. The family struggles with all of the drastic changes in their daily life and are pretty miserable, much to the delight of the show's audience. Homer tries to lighten up the family, saying they should be glad on TV, and begin to conform to their new lives cheerily. This is not deemed as entertaining, however, and viewership begins to drop. In attempts to save the show, the executives decide to introduce Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley into the household. But even his presence (and that of a taser which he uses on Homer) does not
boost the ratings. Finally, one of the executives comes up with an idea. The house is airlifted at night and put into a river.

The Simpsons are shocked to find what had happened the next morning, and the house finally washes up on shore and falls apart, with Squiggy in it. The network crew is filming it and loving the drama that unfolds. They then break for lunch, but deny the Simpsons any of it so they go to eat some bugs. Later on, the family is confronted by a bunch of savage-looking people, who turn out to be contestants in other reality shows, whom the network ditched after they failed in their tasks. They decide to overpower the crew and return to civilization. Together with the Simpsons, they attack the crew, overpowering them. Homer then tried to crush the helicopter with a giant boulder but he was pushed into the ground. Finally at home, Homer decides to watch scripted TV shows, as he has had it with reality shows, but the family finds more pleasure in watching him continually spraying himself in the eye with the hose.

Originally shown on Easter Sunday, 1989, the pilot was a two-hour movie simply known as Quantum Leap. When the show returned for new episodes in September of that year, however, NBC aired a severely edited (90-minute) version of the pilot called "Genesis."

A man wakes up in a bed, thinking, "I did it!" His next thought is, "Did what?" His name is Tom Stratton. It's 1956. He works for the Air Force flying planes, and he's got a beautiful wife and a nice son. There's just one problem: he's pretty sure that his name's not Tom Stratton, it's Sam. But he can't even remember his last name. In fact, he's also pretty sure that the year shouldn't be 1956. And worst of all, he's never flown a plane in his life. (OK, make that more than one problem.)

Help (such as it is) comes along in the form of a man named Al. There's just one problem with Al: he's not really there. He's just a hologram. And holograms didn't exist back in 1956. And Al has the tendency to walk through invisible doors. Sam -- whoever he is -- is having a very bad day.

Eventually, Al explains to Sam that he's a part of a time-travel experiment from the future. He "leaped" into the past, but somehow wound up as Tom Stratton. But Tom Stratton died when attempting to fly the Mach-2...which, for Sam, is coming up in just a couple of days. If Sam can survive that, he'll change history, Al says, and hopefully "leap" again.

However, the leap doesn't take Sam home, as he hopes. Instead, he winds up as a minor-league baseball player back in 1968, trying to win his last game for his team.

Sam is really fed up with Al, and wants to know whose hairbrain idea this whole project was in the first place. Al tells him: it's Sam himself. Project Quantum Leap was his idea. "If anyone can figure out how to get you home," Al tells Sam, "it's you."

Homer is reluctant at first, but then they go to the reality show.

At the studio, the executives screen many families and finally they settle on the Simpsons, after viewing Homer's overreactions over nothing. They are taken to the Victorian house and shown around by the Network Executive, who says that they will be filmed round the clock. The only thing of the 20th century there is a "Confessional Room", which is a small room with a video camera where they say what they feel about the lifestyle. The family struggles with all of the drastic changes in their daily life and are pretty miserable, much to the delight of the show's audience. Homer tries to lighten up the family, saying they should be glad on TV, and begin to conform to their new lives cheerily. This is not deemed as entertaining, however, and viewership begins to drop. In attempts to save the show, the executives decide to introduce Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley into the household. But even his presence (and that of a taser which he uses on Homer) does not
boost the ratings. Finally, one of the executives comes up with an idea. The house is airlifted at night and put into a river.

The Simpsons are shocked to find what had happened the next morning, and the house finally washes up on shore and falls apart, with Squiggy in it. The network crew is filming it and loving the drama that unfolds. They then break for lunch, but deny the Simpsons any of it so they go to eat some bugs. Later on, the family is confronted by a bunch of savage-looking people, who turn out to be contestants in other reality shows, whom the network ditched after they failed in their tasks. They decide to overpower the crew and return to civilization. Together with the Simpsons, they attack the crew, overpowering them. Homer then tried to crush the helicopter with a giant boulder but he was pushed into the ground. Finally at home, Homer decides to watch scripted TV shows, as he has had it with reality shows, but the family finds more pleasure in watching him continually spraying himself in the eye with the hose.

Several weeks ago I was having a series of random thoughts and now I am wondering today why I was thinking about those details. I was imagining that Mike Mullen had ordered this area destroyed with nuclear bombs and 3 bombs were going to be dropped from ballistic missiles over the downtown Seattle area, the Bellevue city and then someplace a few miles south of here in perhaps the Kent area.

As I imagined those series of events, I imagined that he had created a series of numbers that would be written onto the actual bombs and he would be the only person that would know the full combination of numbers for those three bombs.

Somehow in those random thoughts, I was supposed to read those numbers off the bombs before detonation and then write them down somewhere. One possible approach was simply that I wrote it in a letter and mailed it to the Pentagon.

Another interesting detail is that the house they were living in as part of that reality show, which was the result of being homeless while their house was fumigated, is that the reality show house was dropped into a river with them in it.

I cannot begin to describe how much time I was imagining that I would go to Tiger Washington and get a houseboat to take for a slow ride down that river to eventually drift into that big lake where I would simply relax for a while.

I think the line of thought about Tiger, WA, started with that woman was going to take me there by aircraft. I even imagined that she was going to pilot an F-14 Tomcat with me in the backseat and land at a nearby airport and then drive to Tiger, WA, where I would then write the numbers down on the pavement. The reason for the Tomcat is because that line of thought considered that I needed to get out there to Tiger, WA, as fast as possible. I cannot recall if there was ever any specific reason for why I needed to get there as fast as possible. I remember thinking that after I got there, there was no real feedback as to why I needed to get there so fast. I simply got there as fast as possible, recorded the numbers, which were apparently visible to people in the real world, and then I guess that was when vacation time started and I had the houseboat that I was on as it drifted down the nearby river towards that large lake.

After Cain's death at the hands of the escaped Gina, Shaw's career suffers under Commanders Fisk and Garner, during which time she is demoted and assigned to kitchen duty for insubordination. (Razor)

She is selected by newly-promoted Commander Lee Adama to serve as Executive Officer with the rank of Major. Adama wanted an officer to "hold the torch" and demonstrate his devotion to maintaining Cain's legacy. (Razor)

Shaw is killed in the line of duty during a deadly rescue mission, when she stays behind aboard an old Cylon basestar to manually activate a nuclear bomb.

Meeting at an outdoor cafe, Duram revealed to Amanda evidence implicating Sister Clarice as a possible STO terrorist leader. At first skeptical, Amanda began to see the connections and sneaked back into the Graystone estate to retrieve an item from a safe in her closet - a pistol. Returning to the cabin, Amanda began to press Clarice on everything (CAP: "Retribution").

Getting nowhere through interrogation, Amanda hoped to find her way into Clarice's family home. At first rejecting Amanda's request to move in, Clarice changed her mind upon learning from Lacy Rand that Amanda may unknowingly possess a backup copy of Zoe's avatar program. Against Clarice's family's wishes, Amanda moved in (CAP: "Things We Lock Away").

The I-35W Mississippi River bridge (officially known simply as Bridge 9340) was an eight-lane steel truss arch bridge that carried Interstate 35W across the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The bridge was completed in 1967, and its maintenance was performed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The bridge was Minnesota's fifth–busiest, carrying 140,000 vehicles daily.

The bridge catastrophically failed during the evening rush hour on August 1, 2007, collapsing to the river and riverbanks beneath. Thirteen people were killed and 145 were injured.


At 6:05 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, with rush hour bridge traffic moving slowly through the limited number of lanes, the central span of the bridge suddenly gave way, followed by the adjoining spans. The structure and deck collapsed into the river and onto the riverbanks below, the south part toppling 81 feet (25 m) eastward in the process. Approximately 100 vehicles were involved, sending their occupants and 18 construction workers up to 115 feet (35 m) down to the river or onto its banks. Northern sections fell into a rail yard, landing on three unoccupied and stationary freight train cars.

Sequential images of the collapse were taken by an outdoor security camera located at the parking lot entrance of the control facility for the Lower Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam. The immediate aftermath of the collapse was also captured by a Mn/DOT traffic camera that was facing away from the bridge during the collapse itself.

Propaganda, the coordinated attempt to influence public opinion through the use of media, was skillfully used by the Nazi Party in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler's leadership of Germany (1933–1945). Nazi propaganda provided a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of their policies, including the pursuit of total war and the extermination of millions of people in the Holocaust.


Chronology

In opposition (1919-33)

Nazi leader Adolf Hitler devoted two chapters of his 1925/26 work Mein Kampf, itself a propaganda tool, to the study and practice of propaganda. He claimed to have learnt the value of propaganda as a World War I infantryman exposed to very effective British and ineffectual German propaganda. The argument that Germany lost the war largely because of British propaganda efforts, expounded at length in Mein Kampf, reflected then-common German nationalist claims. Although untrue – German propaganda during World War I was mostly more advanced than that of the British – it became the official truth of Nazi Germany thanks to its reception by Hitler.

Mein Kampf contains the blueprint of later Nazi propaganda efforts. Assessing his audience, Hitler writes in chapter IV:

"Propaganda must always address itself to the broad masses of the people. (...) All propaganda must be presented in a popular form and must fix its intellectual level so as not to be above the heads of the least intellectual of those to whom it is directed. (...) The art of propaganda consists precisely in being able to awaken the imagination of the public through an appeal to their feelings, in finding the appropriate psychological form that will arrest the attention and appeal to the hearts of the national masses. The broad masses of the people are not made up of diplomats or professors of public jurisprudence nor simply of persons who are able to form reasoned judgment in given cases, but a vacillating crowd of human children who are constantly wavering between one idea and another. (...) The great majority of a nation is so feminine in its character and outlook that its thought and conduct are ruled by sentiment rather than by sober reasoning. This
sentiment, however, is not complex, but simple and consistent. It is not highly differentiated, but has only the negative and positive notions of love and hatred, right and wrong, truth and falsehood."

As to the methods to be employed, he explains:

"Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side. (...) The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget. Such being the case, all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward. (...) Every change that is made in the subject of a propagandist message must always emphasize the same conclusion. The leading slogan must of course be illustrated in many ways and from several angles, but in the end one must always return to the assertion of the same formula."

Hitler put these ideas into practice with the reestablishment of the Völkischer Beobachter, a daily newspaper published by the Nazi Party (NSDAP) from February 1925 on, whose circulation reached 26,175 in 1929. It was joined in 1926 by Joseph Goebbels's Der Angriff, another unabashedly and crudely propagandistic paper.

During most of the Nazis' time in opposition, their means of propaganda remained limited. With little access to mass media, the party continued to rely heavily on Hitler and a few others speaking at public meetings until 1929. In April 1930, Hitler appointed Goebbels head of party propaganda. Goebbels, a former journalist and Nazi party officer in Berlin, soon proved his skills. Among his first successes was the organization of riotous demonstrations that succeeded in having the American anti-war film All Quiet on the Western Front banned in Germany.

In power (1933-39)

Before World War II, Nazi propaganda strategy stressed several themes. Their goals were to create external enemies (countries that allegedly inflicted the Treaty of Versailles on Germany) and internal enemies (Jews). Hitler and Nazi propagandists played on the anti-Semitism and resentment present in Germany. The Jews were blamed for things such as robbing the German people of their hard work while themselves avoiding physical labour.


At war (1939-45)

Until the conclusion of the Battle of Stalingrad on February 4, 1943, German propaganda emphasized the prowess of German arms and the humanity German soldiers had shown to the peoples of occupied territories. Pilots of the Allied bombing fleets were depicted as cowardly murderers, and Americans in particular as gangsters in the style of Al Capone. At the same time, German propaganda sought to alienate Americans and British from each other, and both these Western nations from the Soviets. One of the primary sources for propaganda was the Wehrmachtbericht, a daily radio broadcast that described the military situation on all fronts.

After Stalingrad, the main theme changed to Germany as the sole defender of what they called "Western European culture" against the "Bolshevist hordes". The introduction of the V-1 and V-2 "vengeance weapons" was emphasized to convince Britons of the hopelessness of defeating Germany.

Baltar, on comms: There are bodies everywhere. Others dying.

(He drops his flashlight, taking pictures of the fallen Cylons. He finds a strange beacon, the size of a coffee table.)

Baltar: What the hell is that? Definitely man-made.

(He investigates it. A black-haired Six on the floor grabs at his boot and he grabs a rescue pack.)

Baltar: You're severely dehydrated. You must drink some water.

Six: Kill me.

Baltar: You don't understand. There is no resurrection ship nearby. You will not be downloaded into a new body. You will just be gone.

Six, weeping: I saw how they died. Please -- please, I can't bear that.

Baltar, panicking: I'm here to bring help. All right? I'm just gonna take some blood samples for analysis on the baseship. And then we will be able to make a treatment for the disease.

(She coughs.)

Baltar: You must breathe. Please. Please take some water.

Description

The space station Mir circles the Earth in an orbit with inclination 51.6 degrees, perigee 350 km and apogee 400 km. It consists of six main modules: the Mir core module and the scientific modules known as Kvant, Kvant-2, Kristall, Priroda, and Spectr. (The names of the scientific modules translate as Quantum, Crystal, Nature, and Spectrum, respectively.)

The core module, launched 2/19/86, has a mass of ~21 tons, a length of about 13.1 m, and a maximum diameter of 4.2 m. It consists primarily of a passage area with five docking ports, a working area housing the command station, living/eating and hygiene facilities, and a propulsion section through which a tunnel allows access to the KVANT module.

Dispersal Factors [35]: Once a chemical weapons has detonated, it creates a "primary cloud". It can be either a solid or liquid aerosol cloud. The cloud then settles to the ground. It lands on individuals and creates ground contamination. The ground contamination then has a fine lifetime. It can injure from direct contact or from contact with a "secondary cloud" of agent that has evaporated from the ground contamination. The factors that affect the danger from the primary cloud are related to the local weather. Factors diminishing the danger of the primary cloud [34,35]:

Variable wind direction, which causes dilution by redirection of the cloud

Wind velocity over 6 m [s.sup.-1], which causes dilution by turbulence

Temperature below 0[degrees]C, which causes less evaporation from liquid or solid aerosol particles. Aerosol particles settle to the ground more quickly than agent vapor

Precipitation, which washes both aerosol particles and vapor out of the atmosphere

Factors increasing the danger of the primary [34]

Steady wind direction

Wind velocity under 3 m [s.sup.-]

Stable air (inversion)

Temperature above 20[degrees]C

Factors that decrease the danger of ground contamination include [34, 35]:
