Recently, I decided to create a couple of posts I call "backstory", for how it all works out presently
One is for the topic of Evelyn-B_157 and Hope-J_164
The other is for the 1982 "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", a topic that is 100% the reason I continue this campaign of mine
That post is not the "backstory" of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"
My post is about my interpretation of that production. Understanding the stories I reference, including that production, helps to understand my observations.
I do not know anything directly about any of it.
I don't know those people, especially Linda Barrett, I have never met the real people involved in telling that story. I have never had any form of communication, direct or indirect, with any of those people. Over time, I have pieced together the possible reasons her character develops, and the specific people that I *do* know that I suspect caused her character to develop
All I have are the thoughts that formed in my conscious mind
If this blog of mine has a mission statement then it would be about this process of me trying to understand
Trying to understand *why*
*Why* did those thoughts form in my conscious mind and then *why* does the code-pattern of my original-work form so well to the pattern?
A pattern I discovered only *after-the-fact*
Thoughts had to form in my conscious mind *first*
Then I examined the pattern of my original-work
The purpose of this blog and my blog-posts is me trying to understand

The idea occurred to me that people are reading my references to my past work and they don't get it, because it is buried deep in the massive content of this blog of mine
These "backstory" posts are about my work on what I call Event Date variables, and this blog-post is about the calendar-day 03/16/2021 and how remarkable is it that I made a random choice - again - that is so compelling. Other stuff thrown in as examples for context of the scope of this observation

As I was writing about my memories of Phoebe at Camp Couchdale, I was thinking about this scene from "2001." I was writing a while back about how she told me to never forget that dance where we first met.

WHEREAS, the Senate, by S. Res. 324 of July 2, 1992, has asked that I "expeditiously issue an Executive order requiring all executive branch departments and agencies to declassify and publicly release without compromising United States national security all documents, files, and other materials pertaining to POWs and MIAs;" and
WHEREAS, indiscriminate release of classified material could jeopardize continuing United States Government efforts to achieve the fullest possible accounting of Vietnam-era POWs and MIAs; and
WHEREAS, I have concluded that the public interest would be served by the declassification and public release of materials pertaining to Vietnam-era POWs and MIAs as provided below;
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order as follows:
Section 1. All executive departments and agencies shall expeditiously review all documents, files, and other materials pertaining to American POWs and MIAs lost in Southeast Asia for the purposes of declassification in accordance with the standards and procedures of Executive Order No. 12356.

University may pay millions for computer recalibration

The imminent arrival of the year 2000 isn't causing much celebration among some university administrators. Computer systems used by many of the university's administrative departments have already begun to fall victim to a widespread glitch known as "the 2000 problem," Vice President for Computing and Information Technology Ira Fuchs said. The problem occurs when older computer systems, like many of those the university uses, try to do calculations involving dates after Dec. 31, 1999. Most of these systems only use the last two digits of a year, and therefore cannot distinguish between years such as 1996 and 2096.
It may cost the university between $800,000 and $5 million to correct the 2000 problem, Associate Provost Georgia Nugent '73 said. The expenses of fixing the 2000 problem have been grouped with a larger effort to update the university's computer systems, Fuchs said. That plan, known as "Partnership 2000," may cost $50 million, he added. Under Partnership 2000, all university departments will evaluate their computer systems and upgrade them
