Meanwhile, on the antenna tv live news broadcast next to my desk:

Jeremy: Expect a 100% chance of raining poop from the sky the next few days

Mark: Sounds good, Jeremy!

You were "Like, exactly, like, for sure, OMG, LOL, like, exactly, like, for sure, like!"

And then:

There is absolutely 100% nothing more immoral than The Pope of the Catholic-superstition.

Sure, any religion is immoral.

But the Pope has a larger base of gullible and naive as he peddles his superstition bunk of the Jesus Christ mythology superstition.

Pathetic.

Mass-hysteria.

The Pope is the single most evil person in the history of this planet Earth.

He is a true manifestation of "evil" in this world, not that fairy-tale crap you are so desperate to believe. Because you are unable to accept responsibilty for your own actions and your own behavior. So you want to blame something else, instead of the true cause: you own self.

And now the point of this blog-post by me:

HOLDEN: I want every sensor we got looking for that thing.

ALEX: I can give you scopes and thermals with full motion detect, but I can't give you any active Radar or Ladar, not without making our presence known to the patrols upstairs.

When I first saw that thing outside, for a split second I thought I was hallucinating. But after hearing what went down in that lab, now I wish I kinda had been.

Holden: When the European tall-ships first arrived on the American continent, the natives couldn't see them. The sight was so completely outside of their experience, they just couldn't compute. So they didn't see.

"Leviathan Wakes" by James Corey, "The Expanse" series of novels, book 1

Chapter 1: Holden

[first lines]

A hundred and fifty years before, when the parochial disagreements between Earth and Mars had been on the verge of war, the Belt had been a far horizon of tremendous mineral wealth beyond viable economic reach, and the outer planets had been beyond even the most unrealistic corporate dream. Then Solomon Epstein had built his little modified fusion drive, popped it on the back of his three-man yacht, and turned it on. With a good scope, you could still see his ship going at a marginal percentage of the speed of light, heading out into the big empty. The best, longest funeral in the history of mankind. Fortunately, he'd left his plans on his home computer. The Epstein Drive hadn't given humanity the stars, but it had delivered the planets.
