"Stargate SG-1" is a lot less objectionable to me these days than a decade ago. I have seen more of the episodes now of a tv-series that I never followed and only started watching only recently.
As with the 1995 "The Outer Limits" - more so with that production - the production values are fairly crappy
Must have been the strategy to pay money to recognizable names than it was to hire the best, unknown actors for leading roles and then spend the extra money on quality of production, of which the former seems to have happened. Because it's all fairly crappy, especially some of the non-leading role actors.
Wastefulnaut Jeff Bezos is decidedly NOT a visionary.
If fact, he exhibits the sort of hackneyed vision one would expect of a person whose fortune was amassed only by fluke, that he was in the right place at the right time and everything he does exhibits only his mediocrity.
Point of fact: recently, when they sent that hackneyed CBS tv morning person into low-Earth space, they were showing images of Zefram Cochrane along with it.
Makes sense because William Fatner was there, too
BUT for Jeff Bezos to think of himself comparable to Zefram Cochrane is the most ridiculous detail I have seen from his Wastefulnaut endeavor of selfishness and that very long line of industrial pollution it leads.
Next to the Pope of the Catholic-superstition church, Jeff Bezos is the most evil human to have ever existed in the history of this planet Earth
When his joyrider began drawing mild, negative criticism in the mainstream-media, her response with a typical shriek of Ism's.

WASHINGTON - Two Soviet warships are expected to pay a port visit to Mexico for the first time next month, U.S. officials said Thursday. The State Department expressed "concern" about the visit in a message to the Mexican government.
The planned visit is "significant," one official said, because until now Soviet naval deployments to the Caribbean Sea have included port calls only in Cuba.
"Obviously, we're concerned about the Soviet ability to move their ships in and out of the Caribbean," a State Department official said. "Mexico is an independent country and they can do what they want, but we have made our concerns known."
A Kashin guided missile destroyer and a Krivak guided missile frigate are expected to visit the eastern Mexican port of Veracruz Oct. 4, U.S. officials said. The vessels are now in the North Atlantic Ocean heading toward the Caribbean.

A U.S. Navy vessel is closely monitoring the movements of two Soviet warships that entered the Gulf of Mexico and came within 40 miles of the Texas coast, the U.S. Navy said.
The USS Taylor, American guidedmissile frigate, has been tracking the Soviet ships - a guided-missile destroyer and a guided-missile frigate - since they left Havana Thursday, said Lt. Cmdr. Craig Quigley, a Navy spokesman in Norfolk, Va.
The Taylor is always "within visual range" of the Soviet vessels that were last reported about 100 miles southwest of Tampa, Fla., and moving in a southeasterly direction, possibly toward Cuba, said Quigley.
However, there was no way to determine whether the Soviet warships were preparing to leave the Gulf and return to Havana. "They can always change rudder at a moment's notice," he said.

A few minutes ago I started thinking that maybe I started at Princeton University in 1972. I would have been 13 at the time as Thomas Ray. I remember that Kerry Burgess started first grade in 1972. But then I decided that I probably started Princeton earlier than 1972 and maybe 1972 was the year I completed my first major degree. Or 1972 doesn t really mean anything in particular to Thomas Ray; rather it is there for continuity sake for the life of Kerry Burgess.

I saw myself going through an induction process in the United States Marine Corps and I woke up understanding that I was dreaming of my actual experience in 1990. I saw a document that indicated I was being inducted to the United States Marine Corps with the officer grade of Chief Warrant Officer 2. I saw in the dream another document associated with my induction and that document indicated I had been assigned the informal name "Salesman."

Early in his mission, UNAS astronaut Christopher Lindy crashes on an alien planet, but by some miracle he is able to contact Earth and speak directly to UNAS. His wife, Nancy McDonald, is able to talk with him. She does not reveal that, while a relatively short period of time has passed for Lindy, 20 years have passed on Earth; Nancy is remarried and the director of the UNAS space agency. They are able to communicate due to the space-time distortion of the wormhole that Lindy's spacecraft passed through. A rescue mission is launched, but aborted due to the wormhole's changing properties and the danger to the rescuers. Lindy tells them to not attempt the rescue, and Nancy tells him the whole truth. The Fengyang Drum Tower in China partially collapsed on May 19, with nearby tourists seen scrambling as roof tiles went flying from the 650-year-old building.
No injuries were reported, the Fengyang County Culture and Tourism Bureau said.
The tower is in Fengyang County, which is within China's Anhui Province and about 600 miles south of Beijing. The building was originally built in 1375 during the Ming Dynasty.
The Fengyang County Culture and Tourism Bureau said it is investigating the incident. It also said the building has undergone maintenance in recent years due to "worsening damage and safety hazards."
