He criticized a Bush commercial which accused him of planning increased taxes. He said that the Bush campaign had “admitted that they’d made it up.”

Ladies and gentlemen, for four weeks now, you'll have the opportunity to think about what kind of an America you want and to judge what kind of leaders you need. George Bush has been here for the last few days -- (boos) -- bad-mouthing me personally, misrepresenting my record. The poor man even had to make up a television ad to put on television. He literally put a television ad on which said I was going to raise taxes on people I'm trying to lower taxes on, and when he was pressed on, "Why did you put this ad on?" they basically admitted that they'd made it up!

The ad has been criticized by everyone who's looked at it -- "The New York Times," "The Washington Post," "The Wall Street Journal" said that, "Bush is accusing Clinton of raising taxes on the people he's said for a year he would give tax relief to." Why are they doing that? I'll tell you why -- because they can't run on their record. It's the worst in 50 years.

And finally, let me say we believe in real family values in the government. We want a government that values America's families for a change. Look at what they did. They vetoed the Family Leave Act. They've given us the worst economy in 50 years. They had a national convention at which they called for the abolition of any abortion and making criminal penalties attached to it. They had a national convention at which they called for a religious war. That's what they asked for.
