Westbound I-90 blocked near Four Lakes as crashes and shoulder misuse delay response

SPOKANE, Wash. — Updated at 10:45 P.M. Transportation officials said tow crews are now on scene working to move several semi-trucks involved in the collisions.
The Washington State Department of Transportation estimates it will be roughly an hour before at least one westbound lane can reopen
Updated at 9:51 P.M. All westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near the Four Lakes interchange at milepost 270 remain blocked because of multiple collisions, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Officials said some drivers are traveling the wrong way along the shoulder, preventing emergency vehicles and tow trucks from reaching the crash scene.

At 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, the NWS Spokane WA released an updated snow squall warning in effect until 8:15 p.m. for Spokane County. "At 7:35 p.m., a dangerous snow squall was located near Medical Lake, or near Cheney, moving northeast at 20 mph," according to the NWS. "Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area."
