When I was sitting there in that bar in our office in historic Bellevue, Washington, in 1999, I told her I drove around in my blue Mazda RX-7 and solved crimes. Suzanne Morgan then looked across the table at Thomas Dawkins and asked him "What did he say?" and Thomas repeated what I had said. Later that evening, from my apartment at Oakwood, I wrote an email to Suzanne and commented that all the cigarette smoke in that bar had caused my face to turn red.

What I was writing about was how the Ironman corporation had a competition that was for president's of corporations and I wrote to Ballmer telling him about how I was trying to finish and Ironman triathlon and I wondered if he would compete for Microsoft in that Ironman event for corporate presidents.

That was when I wrote about how I had to drop out of Ironman Coeur d'Alene because the heat had been extreme that day and I specifically used the phrase that I couldn't "handle the heat."

I did finish the course the next year and that day I finished was 27 June 2004.

Sometime around that time back in 2003 I had read also about the director of human resources being a competitor in Ironman triathlons and I wrote to him about how I could wait to get back out to Coeur d'Alene and rub my toes in the sand of the lake's beach.

Ballmer responded with a short message that was precisely the words or very similar to: "Not for me, but thanks."

Damnit, I know I wrote several times about that woman in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. On 27 June 2004 when I crossed the finish line of that 2.4 mile swim course and 112 mile bicycle course and 26.2 mile running course she was one of two women who were apparently volunteers who were assigned to escort the course finishers away from the finish line and towards the exit area for the course finishers. On the website for the Ironman Coeur d'Alene 2004 triathlon I later watched the video that company, a racketeering organization famously associated with the State of Hawaii, and I could clearly see the video of where she put her hand on my chest. After they escorted me out of the finish line area and directed me to a tent where she told me I could find pizza, which I did but that wasn't as appetizing as it sounded, she made the comment about how she knew I did not want to be there and I responded about how I did want to be there. I was standing there about 11:20 PM in my Nike Pegasus running shoes, after walking much of the marathon course, and the day was 27 June 2004.

I just realized it must have been March 3rd when I moved into that Crosslands hotel out in Spokane Valley back in 2004 after quitting Microsoft. I remember it snowed heavily that day which corresponds to this weather archive. I would have said that I moved in there on the second at the latest, but I guess it could have been the third. I remember one of the receptionists made a comment about how it had started snowing as soon as I came in and I wondered about that comment. I was going crazy in that place after a while, but in retrospect, I would much rather be back there than here, without a doubt.

Carter, Gates dedicate new UW bioscience center

U.S. Secret Service agents scrambled to ensure the safety of former President Jimmy Carter Wednesday when high winds at the University of Washington briefly threatened to collapse a tent on him and hundreds of others.

Carter was sitting onstage alongside Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in front of 700 audience members when a side of the tent lifted, pulling concrete blocks into the air and slackening wire support cables above the crowd.

Both men, however, appeared unruffled by the dramatic turn.

Women who tried to kill Ford still locked up

They are joined in a strange sisterhood by a pair of unhinged acts: In the autumn of 1975, 17 days apart, each tried to assassinate President Ford, who died this week at age 93.

Today, Lynette Alice "Squeaky" Fromme and Sara Jane Moore are serving life sentences in federal prisons in Texas and California, respectively. The once headline-grabbing names have become historical footnotes who embody the extremism of a tumultuous era.

Three decades ago, Fromme was a slender red-haired flower child from Santa Monica, Calif., a Charles Manson handmaiden who gouged an "X" into her forehead in devotion to the murderer.


Fromme, now 58, was the first woman in history to try to assassinate a U.S. president when on Sept. 5, 1975, she burst through a crowd gathered at the state Capitol, dressed in a nun's robe, with a .45-caliber pistol strapped to her left leg.

She pointed the weapon at Ford from 2 feet away. The gun was loaded, but there was no bullet in the firing chamber. A Secret Service agent disarmed her and slapped her in handcuffs.

At her sentencing, when the federal judge said he believed she would have killed Ford if she could have, Fromme shouted: "You fool! I'm trying to save your life!" She later threw an apple, hitting the federal prosecutor.

Currently held at the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas, Fromme has been eligible for parole since 1985 but has yet to request her freedom.

Moore fired at Ford on Sept. 22, 1975, as the president left a speaking engagement at the St. Francis Hotel. Her single shot from a .38 revolver missed Ford after Oliver Sipple, a disabled Vietnam War veteran, grabbed her arm and pulled her down.

The date of that attack that was probably an exercise of propaganda in support of George Bush was just after my 5/4/2005 complaint to the city police of Kent, Washington, where I specifically named George W. Bush as complicit in the theft of my secret identity. I went back at the end of the month to follow up with that police officer who took my complaint but I was directed by the front desk to a Detective Murray of the Kent city police. There was something puzzling about that my interaction with that police officer though and I was left with the impression that his name was not really Murray and that he had arranged for me to call his voice mail so I would think his name was actually Murray. I was also thinking of how there is a Senator Murray in Washington State and that I have communicated with her several times.
