Freshly released documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein are raising new and unsettling questions.
In the latest batch of released Epstein Files, uncovered emails per TMZ show Epstein asking about his “trumpet plants at nursery.” While the reference might have seemed harmless—experts noted that Angel’s Trumpet plants are extremely toxic and produce a drug called scopolamine.
Scopolamine has gained notoriety for its disturbing effects. Per Science Direct, the substance is known to impair memory and decision-making, and severe intoxication reportedly may even cause paralysis and death. “In cases of overdose, result in toxic symptoms such as dry mucous membranes, tachycardia, confusion, and hallucinations,” the outlet states.
Notably, the drug is used pharmacologically—though rarely—to treat motion sickness and nausea. But perhaps most alarming, scopolamine reportedly doesn't show up on toxicology reports.

Yes, definitely, in some cases. It leaves the memory, hearing and powers of speech unimpaired. However, it's not as dependable as sodium pentothal.
Well, would it have an advantage over sodium pentothal in some other way?
Yes. The pentothal requires an injection, whereas the scopolamine could be given in a drink.
How long does it take to have effect?
Oh, 20 to 30 minutes.

Myth 2: The men and women who work for the CIA are spies and agents
Citizens who work for the CIA are officers – not agents or spies. All employees, from operations officers, to analysts, to librarians and public affairs, are considered CIA officers.
So, who is a CIA agent? Our operations officers recruit well-placed human assets with access to information. These spies are agents. They provide critical information about their country to help America. Operations officers are CIA employees who spot, recruit, and handle foreign agents. They are experts in understanding human nature, emotions, intentions, and motivations.

When I was sitting there in that bar in our office in historic Bellevue, Washington, in 1999, I told her I drove around in my blue Mazda RX-7 and solved crimes. Suzanne Morgan then looked across the table at Thomas Dawkins and asked him "What did he say?" and Thomas repeated what I had said. Later that evening, from my apartment at Oakwood, I wrote an email to Suzanne and commented that all the cigarette smoke in that bar had caused my face to turn red.

According to the document release, Epstein also received an article detailing the effects of scopolamine and the plant it comes from, suggesting he may have been aware of its properties.

Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. Since then, court-ordered releases of documents have continued in waves. Lawmakers voted to force President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice to publicly release the Epstein Files, though the DOJ has indicated there are no further batches expected.
The broader files have drawn attention not only for their contents, but for the high-profile names mentioned throughout—including figures such as Elon Musk, Deepak Chopra, and Bill Gates, among other prominent individuals in business and entertainment.
And just last week, Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwellinvoked the Fifth Amendment during a deposition before the House Oversight Committee when asked about associations involving Trump and Epstein. At this time, Trump has not been accused of any crime in relation to Epstein.
