I would enjoy getting to go out and drive around especially considering that I have not driven a car in over five years but I really don't car about wasting money on gasoline. Also not having a car is one less thing for me to have worry about somebody attaching a bomb to so that it blows up with me in it.

§ 1502. Missing persons: initial report
(a) Preliminary Assessment and Recommendation by Commander.— After receiving information that the whereabouts and status of a person described in section 1501 (c) of this title is uncertain and that the absence of the person may be involuntary, the commander of the unit, facility, or area to or in which the person is assigned shall make a preliminary assessment of the circumstances. If, as a result of that assessment, the commander concludes that the person is missing, the commander shall—
(1) recommend that the person be placed in a missing status; and
(2) not later than 10 days after receiving such information, transmit a report containing that recommendation to the Secretary concerned in accordance with procedures prescribed under section 1501 (b) of this title.
(b) Transmission of Advisory Copy to Theater Component Commander.— When transmitting a report under subsection (a)(2) recommending that a person be placed in a missing status, the commander transmitting that report shall transmit an advisory copy of the report to the theater component commander with jurisdiction over the missing person.
(c) Safeguarding and Forwarding of Records.— A commander making a preliminary assessment under subsection (a) with respect to a missing person shall (in accordance with procedures prescribed under section 1501 of this title) safeguard and forward for official use any information relating to the whereabouts and status of the missing person that results from the preliminary assessment or from actions taken to locate the person.

(The next comment refers to the former Army officer who is now in MS training) I had mixed emotions about you leaving the military and coming to work here. (Laughter.) I might also point out that we have some seats that say, "Reserved for the Cohen staff," that anyone who does not want to stand up can use. Though I like the notion of having standing room only -- (laughter) But if you'd like to have a seat, we have plenty of room up front.
Coming to the Microsoft campus was something of a unique experience, as we landed in a big helicopter and I was commenting that they probably think this is "Red Dawn" -- (laughter) -- or an invasion by aliens, coming in this large helicopter.
And I wanted to be here today because I believe that Microsoft does understand the crucial connection between our national security and our national prosperity. And Bill Gates a moment ago talked about the connection that we do in fact have.
You do work on information and issues that are of critical importance to us. Critical infrastructure is something that we have to devote more and more time and thought and resources to. We have a new initiative to train those who are departing service members for information technology careers. It's very important to us, as it is to you; and even your support for the restoration of the historical battleship Missouri. So I think you appreciate the connection perhaps more than others do.

(a) Each armed force has court-martial jurisdiction over all persons subject to this chapter. The exercise of jurisdiction by one armed force over personnel of another armed force shall be in accordance with regulations prescribed by the President.

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is a United States federal law enforcement agency within the United States Department of Justice (see 28 U.S.C. § 561). Regional Organization

The President. Good afternoon, and welcome to the White House.
You know, it's always heartening to see young people in politics, and it is especially for me, because when I first became active and ran for Governor in California, it was in those riotous days of the sixties. Now, during the last election, the difference was that I couldn't help but notice that wherever we went, there was a large contingent of Teen Age Republicans who were working their hearts out in the campaign.
You had a significant impact on the outcome in the last election in a number of areas. You walked the precincts, you licked stamps, stuffed envelopes, got senior citizens to the polls, and babysat while mothers voted. It may not sound very glamorous, but it's absolutely essential and especially in this era of campaign spending limitations. And it very often, what you did, makes the difference between winning and losing. It happens on election day— [applause] .—
You know, during the last decade there was a vocal minority of American young people who were attracted to, let us say, alien ideologies. And they got the lion's share of the public attention, while many good things were accomplished by young people such as Teen Age Republicans, and that went unacknowledged because the attention was being paid the other way. That's nothing new, however. President Woodrow Wilson noted the same thing way back in 1914. When he was speaking of young people, he said, "They're generally thought of to be arch-radicals. As a matter of fact, they're the most conservative people I've ever dealt with."
You Teen Age Republicans are doing a tremendous job, and I think that's tremendous testimony to Barbie Wells, 1 who's really made the TARs the vibrant organization that it is today. There she is, back there.

§ 1511. Return alive of person declared missing or dead
(a) Pay and Allowances.— Any person (except for a person subsequently determined to have been absent without leave or a deserter) in a missing status or declared dead under subchapter VII of chapter 55 of title 5 or chapter 10 of title 37 or by a board appointed under this chapter who is found alive and returned to the control of the United States shall be paid for the full time of the absence of the person while given that status or declared dead under the law and regulations relating to the pay and allowances of persons returning from a missing status.
(b) Effect on Gratuities Paid as a Result of Status.— Subsection (a) shall not be interpreted to invalidate or otherwise affect the receipt by any person of a death gratuity or other payment from the United States on behalf of a person referred to in subsection (a) before February 10, 1996.

§ 1505. Further review
(a) Subsequent Review.— The Secretary concerned shall conduct subsequent inquiries into the whereabouts and status of any person determined by the Secretary under section 1504 of this title to be in a missing status.
(b) Frequency of Subsequent Reviews.— The Secretary concerned shall conduct inquiries into the whereabouts and status of a person under subsection (a) upon receipt of information that may result in a change of status of the person. The Secretary concerned shall appoint a board to conduct such inquiries.
(c) Action Upon Discovery or Receipt of Information.—
(1) Whenever any United States intelligence agency or other element of the Government finds or receives information that may be related to a missing person, the information shall promptly be forwarded to the office established under section 1501 of this title.
(2) Upon receipt of information under paragraph (1), the head of the office established under section 1501 of this title shall as expeditiously as possible ensure that the information is added to the appropriate case file for that missing person and notify
(A) the designated missing person’s counsel for that person, and
(B) the primary next of kin and any previously designated person for the missing person of the existence of that information.
(3) The head of the office established under section 1501 of this title, with the advice of the missing person’s counsel notified under paragraph (2), shall determine whether the information is significant enough to require a board review under this section.
(d) Conduct of Proceedings.— If it is determined that such a board should be appointed, the appointment of, and activities before, a board appointed under this section shall be governed by the provisions of section 1504 of this title with respect to a board appointed under that section.

Alvin Cullum York (December 13, 1887 – September 2, 1964) was one of the most decorated American soldiers in World War I. He received the Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest, taking 32 machine guns, killing 28 German soldiers and capturing 132 others. This action occurred during the U.S.-led portion of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France, which was part of a broader Allied offensive masterminded by Marshal Ferdinand Foch to breach the Hindenburg line and ultimately force the opposing German forces to capitulate.
In 1941, the movie Sergeant York directed by Howard Hawks with Gary Cooper in the title role told about his life and Medal of Honor action.

Saturn operational history
The Saturn was deactivated on April 6, 2009 and sunk in a sinking exercise (SINKEX) by sea and air assets of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group off the coast of North Carolina on October 27, 2010.

The NASA Ames Research Center and Google announced Monday that they had signed a formal agreement to collaborate on a broad set of projects that could include virtual flyovers of the Moon and Mars, and other initiatives that will make NASA’s vast trove of space and weather data widely available on the Internet.
“This is going to bring the excitement of space travel” to a wider audience, said S. Pete Worden, director of the Ames Research Center, near Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.

Suppressing SAMs with a Thud
No doubt about it: the war between American Wild Weasel crews and North Vietnamese surface-to-air-missile (SAM) operators was personal. Without ever seeing one another, it was as close to man-to-man combat as standoff electronic technology allowed. The Weasel pilot stepped out into the middle of the street, guns ready, and challenged the bad guy to show himself and take his best shot. The bad guy-in this case, a North Vietnamese SAM gunner-set his sights on the Wild Weasel aircraft and pulled his trigger. Not until they became targets themselves did the Weasel crew know where their enemy was and return fire. It was it simple matter of who could fire first and think faster.
The Weasels' primary job was to protect the strike force that followed them at any cost. They deliberately exposed themselves to enemy radar sites, whose operators knew if they "lit up" for every a few seconds, they would get a Shrike missile jammed down their throats. They countered this by turning on for an instant to launch one or more SAMs in the direction of the Weasels and then immediately going off the air. But, this was usually a fatal mistake on their part.The Weasels would fire their missiles at the SAM site and then brace to outmaneuver the oncoming SAMs. With a closure rate of Mach 3.0, there were only seconds to execute evasive tactics During the Vietnam War, these skilled and daring crews were truly "force multipliers." For every sophisticated weapon that ever became operational with a military force, a counterweapon always followed closely behind. During the Cold War, this was exceptionally true in the world of military aviation. With the
development of the airto-air missile, the era of close-in dogfighting ended right after the Korean War. Soon after this weapon became operational, the surfaceto-air missile was introduced, and it became a valid threat to any type of aircraft that flew within its reach. Highflying bombers were no longer in a safe zone, so to survive, they had to hug the terrain or use standoff weapons that could be fired far away from the SAM sites. The fast-moving fighters and reconnaissance aircraft pilots had no choice but to penetrate the SAMs' domain; thus, they were constantly placed in harm's way.
In the spring of 1964, U.S. fighter/bombers began to bomb targets deep inside North Vietnam. At this time, these aircrews discovered multiple SAM sites in and around Hanoi. Later, this proved to be just the tip of the iceberg! American intelligence was aware of the SAM sites that ringed Moscow, but the Hanoi-area SAMs were found to be the most sophisticated air-defense system outside the Soviet Union.
The SA-2 missile was considered to be a superweapon that had to be dealt with immediately. It carried a warhead that contained about 2,000 pounds of high explosives and could achieve a blinding speed of Mach 3.0 plus. Its reach extended for at least 30 miles, and with these sites scattered in a planned pattern, there were very few gaps in the coverage as you got closer to Hanoi. During the early air strikes, the American aircrews' biggest advantage was that the SA-2 was literally a 35-foot "telephone pole" that spouted a long plume of flame; this made it easy to spot. If pilots from the strike packages could see it coming, there was a chance to beat it with some violent maneuvers. Official records show that the first USAF aircraft shot down by an SA-2 was an F4C Phantom on July 24, 1965. The Phantoms were in a flight of four, and the exploding missile put countless holes in the surviving aircraft. This was just an early warning of things to come!
There had to be a better way to take on the SAMs than being forced to dump the bomb load prematurely, pulling a significant number of G and escaping with a near miss, which defeated the purpose of the mission. The answer was a very specialized aircraft that could detect and destroy these sites: the two-seat version of the North American F-100F aka "Hun," the first aircraft to take on this responsibility. It was strictly a stopgap measure until more sophisticated systems could be brought into the war. Its SAM-killing weapon was the AGM-45 "Shrike," which was approximately 10 feet long and had a range of about 12 miles. These newly modified aircraft entered combat over North Vietnam in December 1965.

"We are starting to go talk to Rotary Clubs, Lions, Kiwanis," said Gus Slayton, the Old Crows' executive director. "The general public needs to understand these kinds of esoteric things."
Congressional critics place part of the blame on the military itself for failing to promote leaders who understand electronics.
In the Air Force, for example, all of the 13 four-star generals are pilots, even though two-thirds of Air Force officers have non-flying jobs, according to former Air Force Secretary Verne Orr. "It gets very discouraging to the best . . . engineers, who drift out as colonels," Orr said.
Others complain that electronics generally is regarded as a "third cousin" when it comes to the competition for funding. "It is not the will of the people that is lacking, it is the amount of money that can be applied," said Old Crows' President Albert A. Gallotta, a retired rear admiral.
Such concerns are not a recent development. Electronic warfare has been fading in and out of military engagements all the way back to the turn of the century.
First Used in 1904
An embryonic use of electronic warfare occurred only a few years after Guglielmo Marconi invented the wireless. In the naval war between Japan and Russia in 1904, the Japanese used Russian radio transmissions to locate and eventually sink the Russian Pacific fleet.
Electronic warfare played a small but growing role in World War II and Korea as well.
Staggering Losses
But it was not until the Vietnam War that electronic warfare came into its own. On July 24, 1965, a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom became the first U.S. jet to be shot down by a Soviet-built SAM-2 missile over North Vietnam, beginning what would become staggering losses to U.S. forces. Initially, the United States was losing 14% of its aircraft per mission.
A crash program was started to equip U.S. jets with radar-warning receivers, a device that does the same job as the so-called "fuzz buster" that warns motorists of police radar.
The trouble over Vietnam was that the warning receivers were going off constantly, so great was the threat. On some missions, 20 to 30 missiles were fired at each aircraft, Corder, the Air Force general, recalled.
'Die All Tensed Up'
"There were times in Vietnam when the guys would just turn off their radar-warning receivers," Crawford, the Rand expert, said. "As one guy said, all it did was make you die all tensed up."

USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH, At Sea (NNS) -- Sea and air assets assigned to the George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) successfully sunk the former U.S. Navy re-supply ship USNS Saturn (T-AFS 10) in a sinking exercise (SINKEX) in the Atlantic Ocean, Oct. 27.
Ships from Destroyer Squadron 22 and aircraft from Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8, along with Patrol Squadron (VP) 10 and VP 45, participated in the real-world tactical training exercise with surface-to-surface, air-to-surface and surface-to-air live fire, said Commander, Destroyer Squadron 22 Capt. Jeffrey Wolstenholme, who was responsible for the coordination, planning and execution of the two-day SINKEX.
The guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) and the guided-missile cruisers USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) and USS Gettysburg (CG 64) launched missiles, 5-inch guns, Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) and 25-mm and .50-cal weapons. In addition, aircraft and helicopters from CVW 8 launched from Bush and employed bombs and air-to-surface missiles during the exercise.
The sinking exercise focused on integrated strike group operations, command and control procedures, pre-planned responses to maritime threats and surface action group operations. As the strike group prepares for a combat deployment in spring 2011, the sinking exercise provided a unique opportunity to practice combat scenarios, to include tactics and procedures. The exercise was planned to scale up the attacks during the course of the two days, Wolstenholme said.
Saturn was transferred from the British Fleet Auxiliary to Military Sealift Command Dec. 13, 1983. Saturn was in service for more than 25 years and was deactivated April 6, 2009.

The public worried that the fire had been a signal meant to initiate communist revolution in Germany, as in 1919, so the Nazis exploited the arson with the Reichstag Fire Decree (27 February 1933), rescinding most German civil liberties, including habeas corpus, to so suppress their opponents.

§ 894. Art. 94. Mutiny or sedition
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who—
(1) with intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuses, in concert with any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his duty or creates any violence or disturbance is guilty of mutiny;
(2) with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition;
(3) fails to do his utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition being committed in his presence, or fails to take all reasonable means to inform his superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of a mutiny or sedition which he knows or has reason to believe is taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition.
(b) A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.

Description
The space station Mir circles the Earth in an orbit with inclination 51.6 degrees, perigee 350 km and apogee 400 km. It consists of six main modules: the Mir core module and the scientific modules known as Kvant, Kvant-2, Kristall, Priroda, and Spectr. (The names of the scientific modules translate as Quantum, Crystal, Nature, and Spectrum, respectively.)
The core module, launched 2/19/86, has a mass of ~21 tons, a length of about 13.1 m, and a maximum diameter of 4.2 m. It consists primarily of a passage area with five docking ports, a working area housing the command station, living/eating and hygiene facilities, and a propulsion section through which a tunnel allows access to the KVANT module.

Remarks on the Oklahoma City Bombing
April 19, 1995
The bombing in Oklahoma City was an attack on innocent children and defenseless citizens. It was an act of cowardice, and it was evil. The United States will not tolerate it. And I will not allow the people of this country to be intimidated by evil cowards.
I have met with our team, which we assembled to deal with this bombing. And I have determined to take the following steps to assure the strongest response to this situation:
First, I have deployed a crisis management team under the leadership of the FBI, working with the Department of Justice, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, military and local authorities. We are sending the world's finest investigators to solve these murders.
Second, I have declared an emergency in Oklahoma City. And at my direction, James Lee Witt, the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is now on his way there to make sure we do everything we can to help the people of Oklahoma deal with the tragedy.
Third, we are taking every precaution to reassure and to protect people who work in or live near other Federal facilities.
Let there be no room for doubt: We will find the people who did this. When we do, justice will be swift, certain, and severe. These people are killers, and they must be treated like killers.
