[Obelisk chamber]

KIRK [OC]: (dazed and confused) Where am I? What place is this? What are these? (phaser and communicator) I feel should know. They're familiar and yet unfamiliar. How did I get here? Who am I? Try to remember.

(He finds a flight of stairs and walks up, out into the sunshine)

[Obelisk]

(Two young women are approaching, carrying baskets of food.)

MIRAMANEE: Wait.

(They kneel at the sight of Kirk. Then one gets up and walks up the steps to him, and puts his hand to her forehead.)

KIRK: Who are you?

MIRAMANEE: We are your people. We've been waiting for you to come to us.

MCCOY: I thought you were reporting to Sickbay.

SPOCK: There isn't time, Doctor. I must decipher those obelisk's symbols. They're a highly advanced form of cipher writing.

CLOVERDALE

EPISODE NUMBER - 205

ORIGINAL U.S. AIR DATE - 10.26.10

MATT: Hey! Beats the hell out of digs in Kandahar, don't it?!

(Ronald chuckles.)

RONALD: I wouldn't miss it for the world, brother.

MATT (smiling at him): Well, I appreciate it. I do.

(The bus driver calls out the next stop.)

DRIVER: Cloverdale!

(Matt puts his hands on the back of the seat in front of him and starts to pull himself to his feet. Ronald instantly slams his hands onto the back of the seat in front of him and starts to jump up.)

RONALD: Me first!

(The bus pulls up at the bus stop in the centre of Cloverdale and the door opens. Matt and Ronald pull their kit bags down from the overhead rack and make their way to the front of the bus, Matt bending forward and looking out of the windows on both sides of the vehicle.)

MATT: Damn. I thought my dad might be here.

(They get off the bus, which pulls away. Matt looks around as the bus departs and on the other side of the road he sees Everett and Eli lounging against a parked car grinning at him. Eli is holding a video camera.)

MATT: There they are! Hey, guys!

(Dropping his kit bag, he runs into the street towards them, only to be hit full on by a car driving down the road. As the car brakes fiercely, he slams into the windshield, is tossed into the air and crashes onto the road.)

(On a planet several billion light years away, Lieutenant Matthew Scott crashes to the ground in a forested area, grimacing in pain. Lieutenant Tamara Johansen cries out in warning.)

JOHANSEN: He's coming to again.

MCCOY: Shouldn't we contact them, Jim? Tell them?

KIRK: Tell them what? That an asteroid's coming to smash their world into atoms?

SPOCK: Too primitive to grasp the concept of space flight, Doctor. Our appearance here would only confuse and frighten them.

KIRK: We've got a job to do. Let's get back to the Enterprise.

(Along the path.)

MCCOY: What's the matter, Jim?

KIRK: What? Oh, nothing. It's just so peaceful, uncomplicated. No problems, no command decisions. Just living.

MCCOY: Typical human reaction to an idyllic natural setting.

CLOVERDALE. Matt leads the others into the family house. He looks around the kitchen appreciatively as he passes through.

MATT: Wow. Oh, this hasn't changed one bit!

(Grinning, he continues into the sitting room. Eli follows him, camera raised to his shoulder as he films.)

ELI: Matt is clearly moved seeing the old homestead again.

[Obelisk]

(Kirk is having ritual signs painted on his face.)

ELDER: You will wait until I walk the holy path to the earth lodge first, to give me time to tell the priestess that you follow and that the Joining will take place.

(He leaves Kirk to rejoice in his new life.)

KIRK [OC]: I have found paradise. Surely no man has ever attained such happiness.

CLOVERDALE

EPISODE NUMBER - 205

ORIGINAL U.S. AIR DATE - 10.26.10

WOMAN: It's so beautiful.

(As if recognising the line, Matt pulls back from Chloe and turns to look at the screen. Smiling in delight, the young woman walks towards the man who is standing at the edge of what appears to be a field of white flowers on an alien looking planet. He is dressed in black military gear, has short hair and looks remarkably like Lieutenant Scott. The woman, coincidentally, bears a strong resemblance to Chloe Armstrong. Matt looks at the scene anxiously.)

MATT: Whoa. This is ...

CHLOE: What?

WOMAN (onscreen): It's like an ocean of flowers.

MATT (nervously): This doesn't look familiar to you?

Act 4. Scene VI

SCENE VI. Fields near Dover.

Enter GLOUCESTER, and EDGAR dressed like a peasant

GLOUCESTER

When shall we come to the top of that same hill?

EDGAR

You do climb up it now: look, how we labour.

GLOUCESTER

Methinks the ground is even.

EDGAR

Horrible steep.

Hark, do you hear the sea?

GLOUCESTER

No, truly.

EDGAR

Why, then, your other senses grow imperfect

By your eyes' anguish.

GLOUCESTER

So may it be, indeed:

Methinks thy voice is alter'd; and thou speak'st

In better phrase and matter than thou didst.

EDGAR

You're much deceived: in nothing am I changed

But in my garments.

GLOUCESTER

Methinks you're better spoken.

I sat in this location for hours and the map is a good illustration of why I was there.
