The Gang's All Here

I haven't watched that episode in years. I had completely forgotten about that scene where "Starbuck" rediscovers her old apartment among the city ruins on the "Cylon" occupied planet "Caprica."

The instrumental music starts off just about precisely to some music I remember creating in the 1980s. I was figuring out how to program the crappy music synthesizer on my Commodore personal computer and that was some instrumental music I remember creating. I stored it on computer disk and I also recorded on cassette tape the sound of it produced by the speakers of my Commodore computer.

I didn't watch that episode or any of those episodes of that timeframe when the episodes premiered on television because I was still really messed up by all those psychotic prescription drugs the Veteran Affairs hospital in Seattle forced on me back in the year 2005. I was lucky to survive that time, that time when the St. Francis hospital secretly drugged me after I had gone to the police to complain.

Starbuck: You never have your house keys when you need 'em.

Helo:These yours? You paint these, Kara?

Starbuck: Yeah.

Starbuck turns on a music box after she installs batteries

Helo: How the hell did you get power.

Starbuck: Batteries. Kept turning off the power. Something about not paying a bill.

Helo: That is definitely not you.

Starbuck: It's my dad.

Thank you. Thank you very much.
I didn't know you played.
I only play for strangers.
I was gettin' lonely upstairs all by myself.
Gentlemen, would you mind leaving us, please ?
Thank you.
People always do what you tell them to do ?

As I was trying to go to sleep last night, I had a thought that I have a doctorate in computer science from Princeton. I can’t think of any supporting clues that point specifically to that accomplishment though. There is one memory from working in the lockbox at that bank in Charlotte, but I’m not sure what it means. I also wonder about the B.A. and I had thoughts that I studied music as well at Princeton. I do have supporting memories on that. One is that memory I wrote about a while back of when I returned from the Persian Gulf in 1988. I was writing code on my Commodore computer to randomly produce what I called classical music.

Those pictures of me playing the guitar. I was wearing a t-shirt under a plaid flannel shirt that had the words “Ass Kicking Southern Rock” on it. That has got to mean I was good a playing the guitar in reality. I also remember minor occurrences of playing the piano. These must be “Tapestry” style memories. I remember one time when I bought a piano keyboard that connected to my computer and I was going to teach myself to play the piano. That was when I was living in the apartment off Dresden Avenue in Charlotte, which was just off Independence Boulevard. As with a “Tapestry” style memory, I never did follow through and learn how to play.

Tigh: I can't believe you sided with that woman against the old man. I wouldn't do that if you put a gun to my head. And you did. As far as I'm concerned, you're not fit to wear a uniform.

Apollo: Hmm. You're right about that part. I am not fit to wear the uniform. Maybe I never was. Then again, neither are you. This isn't my ship. And it sure as hell isn't yours. It's his. And when he wakes up... he'll decide what to do with the both of us.

Apollo leaves

Tigh: Thank the gods I didn't have kids.
