This Is What I Think.

Today is 10/17/2025

by me, Kerry Burgess, 10/17/2025 5:42 PM

It's 5:30 PM locally. You know what that means.

I have also noticed she chuckles after some of the things he says. I didn't chuckle but then, I don't really chuckle or laugh at anything

Also, I forgot with my post here yesterday that the 17th is also the penultimate episode of season 3 of "Invasion". Don't plan viewing it or the final episode. That final episode would amount to about $14 dollars for me because there is absolutely nothing else on that channel I want to view. The final episode streams 2 days after the next billing cycle so I am cancelling. If they were smart then "Silo" would begin the promised new season about the same time "Invasion" season ends. There is also supposed to be a new season of "Dark Matter". Not sure if I will continue with "Silo". Maybe not even "Dark Matter". All this continues to make work for me, pointless as it seems. "Dark Matter" has really systemized my thinking in the past year so I have to consider that aspect.

Also, other news today from beyond the USA:

The Patriot (2000)

(from internet transcript)

Order, order!

Mr. Simms, you do not have the floor.

First, an address by Colonel Harry Burwell of the Continental Army.

Colonel Burwell.

You all know why I'm here. I'm not an orator. And I would not try to convince you of the worthiness of our cause. I'm a soldier.

The Patriot (2000)

Quotes

Col. Harry Burwell: This is not a war for the independence of one or two colonies, but for the independence of one nation.

Capt. Wilkins: Tell me, Colonel, what nation is that?

Mr. Howard: An American nation!

Capt. Wilkins: There is no such nation, and to speak of one is treason.

Mr. Howard: We *are* citizens of an American nation! And our rights are being threatened by a tyrant three thousand miles away!

Benjamin Martin: Would you tell me please, Mr. Howard, why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can.

Col. Harry Burwell: Captain Martin, I understood you to be a patriot.

Benjamin Martin: If you mean by "patriot," am I angry about taxation without representation, well, yes, I am. Should the American colonies govern themselves independently? I believe that they can, and they should. But if you are asking me, am I willing to go to war with England? Well, then the answer is most definitely *No!*

[ this line is my personal comment: ] "Todd" stares longingly at the ships in the distance that had dumped him earlier on the planet and I wonder what he thinks he has to go back to.

Went to Camp Couchdale in the summer of '81, after graduating 9th grade.

Met a girl named Phoebe, took her out on the lake in a boat and paddled around. We wrote letters for a long time afterwards.
