Jasmine Crockett Trolls Trump On Kimmel, Takes Cognitive Test He Keeps Bragging About

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Wednesday said she’s ready to face Donald Trump in a televised cognitive showdown after the president insulted her intelligence and challenged her to take the same test he did.

“If he’s down, I’m down,” she told Jimmy Kimmel days after the president called her a “low IQ person” as he bragged about passing a basic cognitive test.

Trump called it “an aptitude test,” but what he described was actually the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which is not an aptitude test or intelligence test at all.

It’s intended to check for signs of cognitive decline and dementia, and is meant to be easy to pass for someone with normal cognition.

Trump this week challenged both Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) to “go against” him on the test.

Kimmel earlier this week said it was a great idea ― and that they should all take the test on TV, with him as the host.

Wednesday night served as a preview of sorts, with Kimmel asking Crockett some of the questions on the test.

He showed her a picture of an elephant, which she correctly identified. He asked her to repeat five words, which she also did ― a part of the test Trump has boasted of in the past, saying his doctors were impressed.

“They said nobody gets it in order. It’s actually not that easy, but for me it was easy,” Trump said in 2020. “That’s not an easy question.”

Kimmel told Crockett that if Trump agrees to the challenge, there might be a curveball or two.

“I want to warn you, there are going to be questions that favor him, like, ‘How do you get ketchup out of a bottle?’ And, ‘What’s the difference between a windmill and a ceiling fan?’” he said. “So this is not gonna be easy.”

Quotes

SSgt. Michael Nantz: All right, Lockett. You wanna go there. Let's go there. I commanded men and men died. Kids. 19 years old. The best men I ever led. Do you think for a second I wouldn't rather trade places with them? I know you think I got my men killed. They're dead. I'm here. Like the punchline to some bad joke. You think I like that? Do you think a minute goes by that those faces aren't right here

"The Heart Of The Matter"

I got the call today, I didn't wanna hear
But I knew that it would come
An old true friend of ours was talkin' on the phone
She said you found someone
And I thought of all the bad luck,
And the struggles we went through
And how I lost me and you lost you
