Who or what the hell canceled winter here so far this year?
Nothing speaks better to the primitives of this planet than your ridiculous religions
Nothing speaks better about your primitive superstitions of your religions than the weather above your monkey forehead.
A topic I often review is the improbability of certain weather events around me
Is human technology capable of causing the atmospheric river the USA west-coast is experiencing?
Is this new weapon's testing? A weapon to strategically alter a foreign region's climate?
Without my original-work, I would simply dismiss it as natural variability and that is still hands down the most likely cause.
This planet Earth did not become overnight capable of supporting complex life
Earth has been around for 5 billion years - the hard-working capable-of-independent-thought scientist *experts* tell us - so there has been plenty of time for this planet to get it right.
Weather and climate is about balance.
Their graphed blue-line represents what should have happened on that particular day, if average represents "normal"
Their graphed black-line represents observed measurements that actually happened on that particular day
Also, I read experts refer to a warming planet and while that is probably true - because of you selfish polluters out there - all we know for certain is the numbers are higher.
Sure, I would like to think that scientists are compensating but I am not certain of that. Certainly they understand the issue.
The numbers alone do not accurately represent climate trends, is what I suspect.

DANIEL
Do you know what this means?
O'NEILL
(rubbing his eyes)
No! I'm just looking at it and the words just pop right into my fron.
[Daniel just stares at him. O'Neill shakes his head wearily.]
O'NEILL
Does anybody think this is odd?
[Daniel, Teal'c and O'Neill exchange glances.]

The whole point was to not check the numbers until I got back.
A few hours later I discovered that astronaut statue.

TEAL'C
If our purpose is to not cause each other harm, why, then, are we doing battle?
O'NEILL
What can I tell ya, it's boxing. It's fun.
TEAL'C
I do not understand O'Neill. Are we preparing to dance or to do battle?

Space: Above and Beyond
TV-series Episode 1 Season 1, 09/24/1995
Neal West: Hi. The TV said we're about to begin another battle.
Shane Vansen: Don't worry. This time out we'll beat them.
John West: How do you know?
Shane Vansen: Well, because this time they're going up against the 127th - the Angry Angels. They will knock the enemy into Andromeda.

Quotes
[the regiment is getting ready to attack - Col. Thursday scans the horizon with his binoculars]
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: I don't see them. Not a one.
Captain Yorke: Well, they're down there, sir... among the rocks.
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: Have you seen 'em, Captain?
Captain Yorke: I don't have to - I know.
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: How?
Captain Yorke: 'Cause if I were Cochise, that's where I'd take up position.
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: And that dust cloud beyond?
Captain Yorke: It's an Apache trick. Probably squaws and children draggin' mesquite.
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: [dubious, sarcastically] Very ingenious, Captain. You make me suspect your Cochise has studied under Alexander the Great, or Bonaparte at the least. Gentlemen, march your troops. We'll charge in a column of fours.
Captain Yorke: Mounted in fours? That's suicide, Colonel! I tell you they're down there...
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: Captain Yorke, you're relieved of command of your troop. There's no room in this regiment for a coward.
Captain Yorke: [angrily throws down his glove in front of Col. Thursday] At your service, sir!
Lt. Col. Owen Thursday: Bugler, pick up Captain Yorke's gauntlet. I'm no duellist, Captain. I will decide whether I will answer you with pistols or a general court martial.

CATHERINE
That's right, Jackson. It's on the other side of the...known universe.
JENNY
We're-we're losing the signal!
INT GATE ROOM
[The wormhole shuts down.]
INT CONTROL ROOM, LATER
[One screen shows video from the probe. It's pictures of a room, and another Stargate. West and O'Neil stand with several others analyzing the data.]
WEST
This is the information the probe sent back to us. Freeze and enhance. You can clearly see the 'gate on the other side. Both 'gates must have functioned as a doorway between our worlds.
JOHNSON
These readings tell us it's an atmospheric match. Barometric pressure, temperature, and most importantly, oxygen.
[One computer monitor shows reading results of "Life Support Possible." Daniel is looking at another screen showing close ups of the chevrons on the other Stargate.]
DANIEL
These markings are different. They don't match the symbols on our 'gate.
WEST
That's why we may have to abort. This project is for naught without a reconnaissance mission.
JOHNSON
Once on the other side, we'd have to decipher the markings on their 'gate, and in essence dial home in order to bring the team back.

FERRETTI
You know, I can't believe we're stuck here.
FREEMAN
Don't be such a doomsayer, Ferretti.
REILLY
Yeah, give it a rest.
BROWN
Yes, please. If we're not back soon, they'll just turn on the 'gate from the other side.
FERRETTI
Oh, no. It doesn't work that way. You see, if you don't turn it on from here, we're screwed. So I'm telling you guys, we're not going anywhere!
REILLY
Shut up.
