I must have run 100 miles straight out into the desert my first day after escaping the Libyans. The hip injury must have been later. I doubt it was the Libyans that were going to chop me up with that cleaver. That did cut me up some, but it was a few months later I got hit in the hip with the cleaver knife.

The “Jonny Quest” series was probably re-started in 1986 because I was missing at the time after being shot down by the Libyans. The series started 212 days after 2/14/86, the day I was shot down. I escaped on 4/14/86 into the desert. I think my family was finding clues in 1987 that I was on the run but I was captured again by tribal warlords and that is when I got the scar on my hip. At some point, I was thrown into a cage with a lion, and maybe a gorilla before that, but I often had to fight off wild animals when I was living off the land during my escape.
