José Padilla

I still can't consciously remember, but I feel that 5/1/1967 was the day I first flew a jet aircraft by myself. I calculated that I would have been 8.16 years on that day.

Specifically, I would have been 2981 days old on on 5/1/67.

I discovered that terror suspect José Padilla was 2980 days old on the day the 1978 movie "Superman" premiered. I find myself thinking about the tagline from this excerpted article about that movie that suggests "You'll believe a man can fly."

I also remember some of the charges made against Padilla in the news sounded similar to details I was hearing at Microsoft from people around me, such as the gas fireplaces.

From 3/3/1959 to 5/1/1967 is: 2981 days
From 10/18/1970 to 12/15/1978 is: 2980 days

The movie premiered 41 weeks after my 19th birthday on 3/3/1978.

Release date(s) December 15, 1978

Superman (also known as Superman: The Movie, as it was called in pre-release advertising), was a popular and critically acclaimed superhero film. It was the first major motion picture to feature the popular DC Comics character of Superman

José Padilla (born October 18, 1970), also known as Abdullah al-Muhajir or Muhajir Abdullah, is a United States citizen of Puerto Rican[1] origin, accused of being a terrorist by the United States government. He was arrested in Chicago on May 8, 2002, and was detained as a material witness until June 9, 2002, when President Bush designated him an illegal enemy combatant and transferred him to a military prison, arguing that he was thereby not entitled to the protection of United States law. On January 3, 2006, he was transferred to a Miami, Florida jail to face criminal conspiracy charges.
