So who or what does Barbara Kelly represent? She was my next door neighbor at that first apartment I had in Greenville in 1990. I looked it up the other day and it was, or now is, named Preserve at Wood's Lake. I moved from there to Wexford in nearby Taylors. She invited me one day to go to this nightclub close to where we lived, near the Greenville airport, not the GSP. We used to go over there a lot in the evenings after work. I can't remember the name of that place but I would recognize it if I saw it. AH...it was The Phoenix. She was first dating a guy that worked for a supermarket. Then she dated and then married Jim French. Jim used to hang out with us at the Phoenix with his then-girlfriend. I met Jim and his co-workers one time, at his place I think. They worked for some outfit that had something to do with airplanes. Never did really know what they did.

Stands With a Fist: [explaining how she got her name] I worked every day... very hard... there was a woman who didn't like me. She called me bad names... sometimes she beat me. One day she was calling me these bad names, her face in my face, and I hit her. I was not very big, but she fell down. She fell hard and didn't move. I stood over her with my fist and asked if any other woman wanted to call me bad names... No one bothered me after that day.

In June, the first launch of an advanced Pegasus XL from the L-1011 Stargazer carrier plane ended in failure; the cause has been identified as aerodynamic problems due to faulty hydro simulations (no wind tunnel testing was done).

"*Stargazer* is a specially modified Lockheed Martin L-1011 TriStar jumbo jet that's based at Meadows Field in Bakersfield," stated Jim Spellman, executive director for the National Space Society's Western Spaceport Chapter in Kern, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo county.
"It was named by OSC team members in honor of the first 'starship' commanded by fictional character Captain Jean-Luc Picard from the *Star Trek: The Next Generation* television series," Spellman added. The aircraft serves as the "first stage" by carrying the Pegasus XL rocket up to its 40,000 foot release point over the Pacific Ocean near Vandenberg AFB in Santa Barbara county.
"Upon release from *Stargazer* and a five-second freefall, the Pegasus XL's solid propellant rocket ignites

"Battlestar Galactica" (2003)
Laura Roslin: There's no Earth. You made it all up. President Adar and I once talked about the legends surrounding Earth. He knew nothing about a secret location regarding Earth, and if the President knew nothing about it, what are the chances that you do?
Adama: You're right. There's no Earth. It's all a legend.
Laura Roslin: Then why?
Adama: Because it's not enough to just live. You have to have something to live for. Let it be Earth.
Laura Roslin: They'll never forgive you.
Adama: Maybe. But in the meantime I've given all of us a fighting chance to survive.
