LOS ANGELES, June 13— The former wife of O. J. Simpson was found dead outside the doorway of her home early today, and the police said they had interviewed Mr. Simpson, the football Hall of Fame running back, as "a possible witness."
The bodies of Mr. Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, 35, and Ronald Goldman, 25, were found near midnight slumped in an entryway of Mrs. Simpson's condominium complex in the city's West Los Angeles section, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office said.
"It appears both have been victims of sharp-force injuries," said Scott Carrier, a spokesman for the office. Autopsies will be performed on Tuesday.

Secret Service Official To Head Navy Probe Unit

Roy Nedrow, director of Secret Service investigations, has been chosen director of the embattled Navy Criminal Investigative Service, the Navy said Thursday.
Nedrow, 50, has been with the Secret Service for 22 years. Before joining the Secret Service, he was a police officer in Berkeley, Calif.
Acting Navy Secretary Sean O'Keefe reorganized the service Sept. 24 and began looking for a new director because of controversy over some of its investigations, particularly the one involving the Tailhook sex harassment scandal.
Navy investigators said they were unable to identify more than a few of the Navy pilots accused of molesting women in a Las Vegas hotel hallway at the Tailhook convention last year because the fliers and their officers refused to cooperate.

There's a memorable bit of dialog between Claude Rains and Humphrey Bogart in the movie "Casablanca." Now, I'd like to turn for a moment to events this past week in the Persian Gulf. The actions that our forces took in the Gulf were a measured response to Iran's resumption of mine-laying and continued aggression against nonbelligerents.
I am extremely proud of the courage and resourcefulness of our military personnel in the Persian Gulf. Their performance under very difficult circumstances has been superb. We're also very pleased with the role that the European allies are playing in a cooperative effort to counter the Iranian mining threat and to help protect freedom of navigation. Such cooperative efforts, supported by our Gulf Arab friends, offer the best means of deterring Iran and enhancing Gulf security. Working together, we can also put new life into the U.N. Security Council's efforts to end the increasingly bloody, inhumane Iran-Iraq war and remove the root cause of tensions in the Gulf. Our role in this war is neutral, and we do not seek to confront Iran. However, its leaders must understand that continued military and terrorist attacks against nonbelligerents and refusal to negotiate an end to the war will be very costly to Iran and its people.

Mckenna To Seek Seat On County Council

BELLEVUE - Six of the best-paying elected jobs in the state are up for grabs this year, and a young GOP activist from Bellevue is already laying claim to one of them.
Rob McKenna, an attorney with Perkins Coie, said he will run for the District 6 seat on the Metropolitan King County Council, a position held by Bruce Laing, R-Bellevue.
McKenna, 32, will make his formal announcement at a fund-raiser in Bellevue tonight.

Navy
Smaller boats and ships typically have machine-guns or fast cannons, which can often be deadly to low-flying aircraft if linked to a radar-directed fire-control system radar-controlled cannon for point defence. Some vessels like Aegis cruisers are as much a threat to aircraft as any land-based air defence system. In general, naval vessels should be treated with respect by aircraft, however the reverse is equally true. Carrier battle groups are especially well defended, as not only do they typically consist of many vessels with heavy air defence armament but they are also able to launch fighter jets for combat air patrol overhead to intercept incoming airborne threats.

My first school was the U.S. Navy Basic Electricity and Electronics at the Service School Command in Orlando, Florida, and I completed that course in April 1986. I am quite certain that, in the context of my artificial and symbolic memory, I started there in February 1986. From there, I drove my 1978 Ford Explorer pickup on a long drive to the Chicago-area where I began the Fire Control Technician "A" School.
I graduated from Great Lakes in November 1986 and went back to Thedia and Denzil's house on Hicks Road on 30 days leave before I was due to attend MK152 Guided Missile Fire Control Computer Complex school, in Dam Neck, Virginia.
