“I have friends in college who are looking for summer work; I’m on an aircraft carrier," said Midshipman 2nd Class Chris Pogue of Chesapeake, Va. "I spent time with a SEAL [Sea, Air, Land] team last year. Not a lot of people get to do these things. I get to watch F-14s {Tomcats} land right next to me. How amazing is that?”
Aboard Kennedy, the 20-year-old was exposed to navigation, conning, chart work and engineering. His running mate, Air Traffic Controller 1st Class Paul Greenough taught the political science major a great deal about air traffic control at sea.

US Marine Corps General Weirick: Colonel, I know you to be a student of military history. What is your counsel?
US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel T.C. McQueen: I would retreat this fleet and then advance to Ixion. The Chig counterattack will be severe. I would send the Fourth Fleet to Ixion as support.
US Navy Commodore Ross: The Five-Eight is down there, McQueen.
US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel T.C. McQueen: In the Second World War, the Japanese committed their finest troops to protecting the island of Guadalcanal neglecting the strategic importance of New Guinea. Our Marines were on their own for eight months while the Allies exploited the Japanese mistake. It broke the back of the Nippon Offensive. After the Canal, we took the war to them.

Yuko Kayaguest: The Marines know that you're here. They'll send somebody after you.
US Marine Corps 1LT Nathan West: No. I'm here without authority. They won't come.
Theresa Ashford: Congratulations, West. You got what you wanted. You're finally one of us - Tellus colonist. Is it everything you thought it would be? Stranded on this planet - waiting to die?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutron_bomb
Neutron bomb
A neutron bomb, or enhanced radiation weapon (ERW), is a type of tactical nuclear weapon designed specifically to release a large portion of its energy as energetic neutron radiation rather than explosive energy. An ERW explosion is typically about one-tenth as powerful as that of a comparable fission-type atomic bomb because standard thermonuclear weapons create increased explosive yield by capturing their neutron radiation. Although their extreme blast and heat effects are not eliminated, the increased radiation released by ERWs is meant to be a major source of casualties, able to penetrate buildings and armored vehicles to kill personnel that would otherwise be protected from the explosion.
An ERW is a fission-fusion thermonuclear weapon (hydrogen bomb) in which the burst of neutrons generated by a fusion reaction is intentionally allowed to escape the weapon, rather than being absorbed by its other components. The weapon's X-ray mirrors and radiation case, made of uranium or lead in a standard bomb, are instead made of chromium or nickel so that the neutrons can escape.
Neutron bombs have low explosive yields compared with other nuclear weapons. This is because neutrons are absorbed by air, so a high-yield neutron bomb is not able to radiate neutrons beyond its blast range and so would have no destructive advantage over a normal hydrogen bomb. Most of the injuries inflicted by an ERW come from the intense pulse of ionizing radiation, not from heat and blast.

Daybreak: Part 2 (2009)
Sharon "Boomer" Valerii: [watches in disbelief as Simon calmly runs medical tests on Hera, despite the fact Cylon Colony is being invaded] You're gonna just keep doing the tests? Even with the colony coming down among your ears?
Simon: I think you over estimate their chances. They may have confused our Hybrids temporarily, but we have superior fire power and superior numbers, and in the end, its all about about mathematics.
