Lost interest couple hours ago about a topic I started working on very early this morning about this calendar-day today
Now I am thinking again about when I actually woke up very early this morning
Later, I would think I must have swallowed a bug that flew into my mouth just as I awoke
At the time, my drowsy mind, rising just from sleep, thought it was large collection of motes of dust collected on my blanket as I was sleeping. I awoke, drew in a large gulp of air, and in went the dust, because the blanket was next to my mouth.
Now, this afternoon, the notion strikes me of infection-agents
They are cast out, like sort of like flying-drones, and they target specific individuals. By whom, I have no idea. They are sent out as agents to target individual hosts for control
It's the reason I find so much compelling detail about the "Stargate SG-1" tv-series from 1997
The Goa'uld and their infection that causes their host to possess genetic-memory - and are controlled by it
The moment of waking is the perfect time for it to strike the targeted host.
Well, I feel no different, all these hours later.
But it seems strangely compelling that happened to me today
And now I am examining my code for a pattern
See, whatever it is, it cannot affect me
*You* it can affect
Not me.
What makes perfect sense to me - now - today - is this explains May 10, 2006
See, by now, about 12 hours after waking, I should be exhibiting clear signs of my conscious-mind being taken over
And instead, everything for me is completely normal.

Over the years, since the VA, I've labored to find some person(s) who could offer rational explanation for what I've discovered
I was in my prime years when this all started.
Now, I'm walking outside and I'm thinking about how unsustainable this is, now I'm suddenly 55 in years
But I find myself thinking about the possibility of sound opinions from even the younger crowd.
I'm growing increasingly certain that's not going to happen.
The kids of today, the 20-somethings, they would see us from the 1980s as technologically primitive
Because technology is the center of people's lives now
Young adults have never known a world without the Internet
Walk up to any 20-something and say to them simply: Emitter Base Collector
AND I GUARANTEE you they will not know what it means
And even if they do have the intellectual curiosity to try then they will have to look it up on their smartphone

[excerpt:] Part II: What a World With Advanced AI Might Look Like
We argue that reliance on the slippery concepts of ‘intelligence’ and ‘superintelligence’ has clouded our ability to reason clearly about a world with advanced AI. By unpacking intelligence into distinct underlying concepts, capability and power, we rebut the notion that human labor will be superfluous in a world with ‘superintelligent’ AI, and present an alternative vision. This also lays the foundation for our discussion of risks in Part III.
Human ability is not constrained by biology
Can AI exceed human intelligence and, if so, by how much? According to a popular argument, unfathomably so. This is often depicted by comparing different species along a spectrum of intelligence.
Figure 3. Intelligence explosion through recursively self-improved AI is a common concern, often depicted by figures like this one. Figure redrawn.
39. Luke Muehlhauser. 2013. Plenty of room above us. In Facing the Intelligence Explosion. https://intelligenceexplosion.com/2011/plenty-of-room-above-us/.
However, there are conceptual and logical flaws with this picture. On a conceptual level, intelligence—especially as a comparison between different species—is not well defined, let alone measurable on a one-dimensional scale.
40. Melanie Mitchell et al. 2024. Ep. 1: What is intelligence? Complexity. Santa Fe Institute; Podcast episode. https://www.santafe.edu/culture/podcasts/ep-1-what-is-intelligence; Melanie Mitchell. 2019. Opinion. We shouldn’t be scared by ‘Superintelligent A.I.’ The New York Times (October 2019). https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/31/opinion/superintelligent-artificial-intelligence.html.
More importantly, intelligence is not the property at stake for analyzing AI’s impacts. Rather, what is at stake is power—the ability to modify one’s environment. To clearly analyze the impact of technology (and in particular, increasingly general computing technology), we must investigate how technology has affected humanity’s power. When we look at things from this perspective, a completely different picture emerges.

[excerpt:] Once we stop using the terms ‘intelligence’ and ‘superintelligence,’ things become much clearer (Figure 5). The worry is that if AI capabilities continue to increase indefinitely (whether or not they are humanlike or superhuman is irrelevant), they may lead to AI systems with more and more power, in turn leading to a loss of control.

[excerpt:] To illustrate why catastrophic misalignment is a speculative risk, consider a famous thought experiment originally intended to show the dangers of misalignment. It involves a “paperclip maximizer”: an AI that has the goal of making as many paperclips as possible. 72. LessWrong. 2008. Squiggle maximizer (formerly “paperclip maximizer”). https://www.lesswrong.com/tag/squiggle-maximizer-formerly-paperclip-maximizer.The concern is that the AI will take the goal literally: It will realize that acquiring power and influence in the world and taking control over all of the world’s resources will help it to achieve that goal. Once it is all powerful, it might commandeer all of the world’s resources, including those needed for humanity’s survival, to produce paperclips.

US Navy Commodore Ross: Whoa! Son, I don't know if you'll understand what I am about to say. This is "Rosalyn." You damage her you damage me. And I will make you walk all 12.6 light-years back to Fat Anthony's Guitar Parlor in Shreveport, Louisiana, to repair a single nick.
US Marine Corps General Oliver Radford: We wouldn't want that, now, because I'd have to make him walk all the way to Country Dick's Guitar Shop in Austin, Texas.
US Navy Ensign Sangers: We're all secured here, sir!
US Navy Commodore Ross: Country Dick's! Oh, man. It's been a long time!
US Marine Corps General Oliver Radford: That night in Galveston. We were bombed.
US Navy Commodore Ross: I drove those women away singing "The Ballad of Ira Hayes."
US Marine Corps General Oliver Radford: You would have driven anybody away, after six times in a row. Speaking of which: I was driving through Arizona a few years ago. I was with my people, the Navajo, and... I bought this off a guy on the Pima reservation. Claims it's an old letter signed by Ira Hayes, that he wrote at Iwo Jima. I doubt if it is, but I thought about you, and - Hell, I'd like to think it is. I've been wondering about Hayes a lot. First Pima Indian to become a Marine paratrooper. Helped raise the flag at Iwo Jima. Became a hero for a country that... had massacred Native Americans. They say he drowned in a mud puddle. Drunk. Did he ever feel he had been used? That he'd done the right thing? Would he have done it the same way again, if he had a chance?
US Navy Commodore Ross: Too bad the dead don't get a chance to redeem themselves. Is there something that's troubling you because of your new appointment? You are now the highest-ranking Native American officer in the world. Although it's hard for me to imagine you in charge of anything... called "intelligence."
