Colonel McQUEEN: Take this thing down to the shop, (wipes his hands on Elroy) and inform the flight surgeon I wish to see him.
Cut to operating room. They remove the chip from McQueen
Cut to McQueen's quarters. McQueen is lying on his bunk and tries to get up but finds it very difficult. He's disorientated. He tries standing again.
Cut to flight deck. McQueen is working out again, though this time he moves sluggishly. Hawkes and West watch as McQueen tries to train. McQueen falls down. Hawkes and West go to help him up but he shrugs them off. Ross watches this in dismay.

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 2 of the joint resolution of Congress approved April 11, 1941, 55 Stat. 133, it is hereby, amended by adding thereto the following paragraphs:
"3. The provisions of paragraph 1 and 2 of this order shall be suspended during any period in which Article VI of the Inter-American Coffee Agreement is inoperative.
"4. The secretary of State shall notify the Secretary of the Treasury whenever Article VI of the Inter-American Coffee Agreement becomes inoperative by reason of action of the Inter-American Coffee Board or by expiration of the existing Inter-American Coffee Agreement."

I could see very well in the dream that we were flying over some mountainous terrain and there was a Libyan military jet below me and to my right side. The dialog that I believe was from the RIO in the seat behind me was about that opposing fighter and the part that I remember the best is that he was saying the the pilot of that Libyan jet was wearing a mask. I could see the jet well enough to establish the make but I was far enough away that I could not see the pilot or even if he was wearing an oxygen mask. The first detail on that notion I remember either during the dream or after I have pondered over it is that my RIO was looking at him through binoculars. At some point afterwards the thought occurred to me that we had actually flown close enough to that Libyan aircraft that I could see visually unaided that he was wearing an oxygen mask. There was some other dialog from my RIO and I have pondered over whether he was also communicating with the Hawkeye or the carrier or both over the radio the details I was hearing from him. We were preparing to engage the Libyan fighter with the weapons on my aircraft and this part about the summary label for the project item reminds me of something my RIO was saying but I cannot remember precisely what he was saying. It was as though he was scheduling a task for our fire-control computer and I heard him define the text of the label for that task of firing at the opposing fighter.

Historically, world domination has been thought of in terms of a nation expanding its power to the point that all other nations are subservient to it. This may be achieved by establishing a hegemony, an indirect form of government and of imperial dominance in which the hegemon (leader state) rules geopolitically subordinate states by means of its implied power—by the threat of force, rather than by direct military force. However, domination can also be achieved by direct military force. In the 4th century BCE, Alexander the Great notably expressed a desire to conquer the world, and a legend persists that after he completed his military conquest of the known ancient world, he "wept because he had no more worlds to conquer", as he was unaware of China farther to the east and had no way to know about civilizations in the Americas. However, with the full size and scope of the world known, it has been said that "world domination is an impossible goal", and specifically that "no single nation however big and powerful can dominate a world" of well over a hundred interdependent nations and billions of people.
An opposite view was expressed by Hans Morgenthau. He stressed that the mechanical development of weapons, transportation, and communication makes "the conquest of the world technically possible, and they make it technically possible to keep the world in that conquered state." He argues that a lack of such infrastructure explains why great ancient empires, though vast, failed to complete universal conquest of their world and perpetuate the conquest. "Today no technological obstacle stands in the way of a world-wide empire," as "modern technology makes it possible to extend the control of mind and action to every corner of the globe regardless of geography and season." Morgenthau continued on the technological progress:
It has also given total war that terrifying, world-embracing impetus which seems to be satisfied with nothing less than world dominion... The machine age begets its own triumphs, each forward step calling forth two or more on the road of technological progress. It also begets its own victories, military and political; for with the ability to conquer the world and keep it conquered, it creates the will to conquer it.

HOUSTON, Friday, Dec. 8— Apollo 17, despite its tardy launching early yesterday, is expected to make up all of the lost time and reach an orbit of the moon on schedule at 2:48 P.M., Eastern standard time, next Sunday.
Capt. Eugene A. Cernan and Comdr. Ronald E. Evans of the Navy and Dr. Harrison H. Schmitt, a civilian geologist, were racing their moonship across space early today at slightly higher velocities than originally planned in order to overcome the two hour and 40 minute delay in the lift‐off.
Mission planners expressed confidence that the somewhat longer rocket firing at the out set of the moonward trajectory should put Apollo 17 back on schedule for all of the critical operations in lunar orbit and on the cratered surface.
These activities include, in addition to the orbiting man euver, the planned landing on the moon by Captain Cernan and Dr. Schmitt at 2:54 P.M. on Monday, Dec. 11, their three seven‐hour excursions outside their landing craft and the lift‐ off from the moon at 5:56 P.M. on Dec. 14.
