The Thing From Another World (1951)
(from internet transcript)
Please, doctor, I've got to ask this. It sounds like, well... Just as though you're describing some form of super carrot.
That's nearly right, Mr. Scott. This carrot, as you call it, has constructed an aircraft capable of flying millions of miles propelled by a force as yet unknown to us.
An intellectual carrot. The mind boggles.
It shouldn't. Imagine how strange it would have seemed during the Pliocene age to forecast that worms, fish, lizards that crawled over the Earth would evolve into us. On the planet from which our visitor came vegetable life underwent an evolution similar to that of our own animal life...which would account for the superiority of its brain. Its development was not handicapped by emotional or sexual factors.
Dr. Carrington, you won the Nobel Prize. You've received every kind of kudos a scientist can attain. If you were for sale, I could get a million bucks for you from any foreign government. I'm not, therefore, gonna stick my neck out and say you're stuffed full of wild blueberry muffins. But I promise you, my readers are gonna think so.
Not for long, Mr. Scott. Not if they know anything about the flora of their own planet.
You mean there are vegetables right here on Earth that can think?
A certain kind of thinking, yes. You ever hear of the telegraph vine?
Not recently.
Or the...
Is it the acanthus century plant, Dr. Stern?
Yes.
Go ahead, doctor. That's your field.
Well, the century plant catches mice, bats, squirrels, any small mammals. Uses a sweet syrup as bait, then holds onto its catch and feeds on it.
What's the telegraph vine?
The vine, research has proven, can signal to other vines of the same species...vines 20 to 100 miles away. Intelligence in plants and vegetables is an old story, Mr. Scott. Older even than the animal arrogance that has overlooked it.
That's one for Ripley.
Look here.
I took this from under the soft tissue in the palm of the hand.
A seedpod.
Seedpod?
Yes. The neat and unconfused reproductive technique of vegetation. No pain or pleasure as we know it.
No emotions...no heart.
Our superior. Our superior in every way.
Gentlemen, do you realize what we've found?
A being from another world as different from us as one pole from the other.
If we can only communicate with it we can learn secrets that have been hidden from mankind since the beginning

The Breach
Inside the Impeachment and Trial of William Jefferson Clinton
"When I was alone with Ms. Lewinsky on certain occasions in early 1996 and once in early 1997, I engaged in conduct that was wrong," he began, reading slowly and deliberately. "These encounters did not consist of sexual intercourse. They did not constitute sexual relations as I understood that term to be defined at my January 17, 1998, deposition. But they did involve inappropriate intimate contact.

U.S. Marshals Service (official website)
History - The First Generation of United States Marshals
Building a nation depends not only on the laws that define the government, but also on the quality of the individuals who serve it. President George Washington, as he filled the various offices of the new federal government throughout 1789, fully understood the importance of selecting able men. He brought into his Cabinet some of the brightest minds in the country, including the champion of the rights of man, Thomas Jefferson, as Secretary of State, and the apostle of a strong central government, Alexander Hamilton, as Secretary of the Treasury. For other offices of the government, Washington sought men with strong local ties and a deep commitment to the new nation. Edmond Randolph, for example, the first Attorney General, was a prominent Virginian who served the new country by fighting in the Revolutionary War and representing Virginia in the Second Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention. By drafting such men as Randolph, Jefferson, and Hamilton, Washington tried to balance the need for a powerful national government against the jealously protected rights of the states.
"Impressed with a conviction that the due administration of justice is the firmest pillar of good Government, I have considered the . . . Judicial department as essential to the happiness of our Country, and to the stability of it's political system." -- GEORGE WASHINGTON
Washington considered the several offices created by the Judiciary Act of 1789 of premier importance to the new nation. "Impressed with a conviction that the due administration of justice is the firmest pillar of good Government," he wrote Randolph on September 28, four days after signing the Act into law, "I have considered the first arrangement of the Judicial department as essential to the happiness of our Country, and to the stability of its political system; hence the selection of the fittest characters to expound the laws, and dispense justice, has been an invariable object of my anxious concern." The Supreme Court Justices, the Attorney General, the district court judges and attorneys, the court clerks, and the United States Marshals would define, administer, and enforce the growing body of federal laws. By their actions, these men would determine the boundary between federal authority and local autonomy.
The President carefully considered whom to appoint to the judiciary offices. Long before the bill reached his desk, he consulted with his advisors and reviewed the credentials of the various candidates. Many of them he knew personally. By the time the bill was ready for his signature, Washington had made most of his selections.
On September 26, 1789, he signed the commissions of thirteen Marshals.

Monica Lewinsky Scandal

The Media Frenzy and Grand Jury Testimony
On January 17, 1998, the Drudge Report, a conservative online news aggregator founded in 1995, published an item accusing the president of having a sexual relationship with a former White House intern. The next day, the site revealed Lewinsky's identity.
The mainstream media picked up the story a few days later, and a national scandal erupted. Clinton refuted the allegations against him, famously stating at a press conference, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky."

You know what's confusing me? I thought about this for a couple minutes and my confusion must be from hallucinations.
I would have sworn I wrote in my journal about the night I put the medals in her purse without her seeing me do it. Maybe I did write about it and now I can't find it again. I don't know. I can still visualize it.
I think I am visualizing a series of thoughts from a few years ago, back in the year 2011. I keep seeing myself in Columbia in the year 1997 and I was recently promoted to lieutenant colonel and I was wearing the uniform of the United States Marine Corps and I still can visualize that line of thought of the last words I said to her when I put on my cover as I walked to the door and left and I went to Fort Jackson and I never came back.

For a very long time, I associated my vague notions about 3/16/1991 with my vague notions about a professorship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, all just vague notions that inexplicably formed in my mind at some point years ago
I have let go that association of 3/16/1991 and Columbia, SC
I think still there is some specific reason those ideas formed in my conscious mind with Columbia but I still do not know specifically the reason for any of that
All I know is the pattern keeps being consistent
It's all just so ridiculous

"Shouldn't we refer to her as Trump defense counsel?": Experts slam Cannon order scolding Jack Smith
Tatyana Tandanpolie
Tue, October 17, 2023 at 10:41 AM PDT
U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over former President Donald Trump's classified documents case in Florida, issued an order to special counsel Jack Smith's office Tuesday scolding the prosecutors for not providing access to classified materials to the defense in an "accredited facility" within the Southern District of Florida, MSNBC's Katie Phang reports. The order follows the prosecution and defense's squabble this week over the case's discovery process, during which both parties exchange records about witnesses and evidence they may present at trial, according to The Messenger.
In a Sunday night filing, Trump's attorneys said Smith's office had not yet made around 2,400 pages of classified discovery available for review in the district and asked for an extension to file additional motions. Prosecutors, who have provided over 1.3 million pages of unclassified records in the case, partially objected to the extension request Tuesday. While they did not reject a 10-day extension regarding classified records, of which the case involves thousands of pages, they did oppose any motion to extend deadlines for unclassified discovery motions.
Experts criticized Cannon's order online. "Shouldn’t we just refer to her as Trump defense counsel Cannon?" Norman Ornstein, an emeritus scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, said on X, formerly Twitter. "I'm trying to think of a single time in a case involving classified information that my convenience or proximity to access to the relevant [sensitive compartmented information facility] was a consideration," national security lawyer Bradley Moss added. Phang pointed out that Cannon also recently scolded a prosecutor on Smith's team in Trump co-defendant Walt Nauta's contentious conflict-of-interest hearing that was rescheduled for Friday. "I am interested to see how Judge Cannon reacts to the DOJ at this hearing on Friday." Phang tweeted. "Her very visible irritation and dressing-down of the Special Counsel’s team last week was remarkable, to say the least."
