Paul acted before he even listened closely to the male voice underneath the static. He leaned towards the mic and pressed the SEND button. "If anyone can hear me, my name is Paul Gault, an officer with the NYPD, currently located in Brewster, Ohio. I have several people with me, including a young girl and others that seem to be immune. Requesting assistance or advice on where to go from here for proper safety. Over."
When he released the SEND button, he heard the same thing. The underlying static and a man's voice underneath. It was as if he'd broadcast his message out into absolute emptiness. He was about to try again but then understood what he was hearing. The tone of the man's voice and the almost robotic way in which he spoke indicated that he was not directly speaking to anyone. He was reading something - giving a report.

BRODY: There's a built-in trigger. It should appear to him as a distinctive door. All he has to do is open it and walk through.
