Think Like a Dinosaur
Episode Number: 140
Season Num: 7
First Aired: Friday June 15, 2001
Michael Burr is the only permanent human occupant of the Tuulen station, situated on a vast empty plain of the Moon. His companions are the Hanen, an emotionless lizard-like alien species who have developed a highly advanced means of long distance travel by 'jumping' through space. Achieved by creating an exact duplicate of the jumper, the copy is reconstituted at the destination point and the original destroyed, thus leaving only one. Kamala Shastri is one of the test jumpers to arrive for travel to the planet Gend, but in the final stage of the transfer, something inexplicable happens. Confirmation of her duplicate's arrival is not received from Gend and the procedure is temporarily aborted. When it's later determined that Kamala's copy does indeed exist, Michael is called upon to balance the equation and eliminate the original. Michael knows the human race is desperate to access a technology that would allow them to leave behind a planet now virtually destroyed by pollution and over population. He also knows it is imperative that he avoid a protocol breach with the Hanen, but can he bring himself to kill Kamala?

"Star Trek: The Next Generation" .... Minuet
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Minuet
Minuet was a character created in the holodeck on board the USS Enterprise-D, by Commander William Riker in 2364. Minuet existed within the confines of a program of the Bourbon Street Bar, a New Orleans jazz club set in the year 1958.
Three years later, when Riker was stranded on a planet with a lonely alien known as Barash, the alien created a version of the future for Riker, unknown to him, where Barash took on the role of his son. In that reality, 'Minuet' was his wife, something that alerted Riker to the fact that the reality he was experiencing wasn't real. This mistake apparently occurred due to Barash having read Riker's mind to create the reality, and mistaking his still-strong feelings for Minuet as feelings for a real woman. The Best of Both Worlds: Part 1 (1990)
Borg: Captain Jean-Luc Picard. You lead the strongest ship of the Federation fleet. You speak for your people.
Capt. Picard: I have nothing to say to you, and I will resist you with my last ounce of strength.
Borg: Strength is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. We wish to improve ourselves. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours.
Capt. Picard: Impossible. My culture is based on freedom and self-determination.
Borg: Freedom is irrelevant. Self-determination is irrelevant. You must comply.
Capt. Picard: We would rather die.
Borg: Death is irrelevant. Your archaic cultures are authority driven. To facilitate our introduction into your societies, it has been decided that a human voice will speak for us in all communications. You have been chosen to be that voice.

"Star Trek: The Next Generation" .... Jack Crusher
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Crusher
Lieutenant Commander Jack R. Crusher, a character in the Star Trek fictional universe, is the husband to Beverly Crusher and the father of Wesley Crusher. Throughout Star Trek: The Next Generation, the character is played by actor Doug Wert.
Jack Crusher was the second officer (third in command) aboard the USS Stargazer, Jean-Luc Picard's first command. He was killed while on a mission, which Picard blamed himself for and was troubled by it until he met Beverly Crusher when she first reported on the USS Enterprise. Crusher assured Picard she had signed on the Enterprise-D voluntarily and not due to Picard's influence.
The exact circumstances of Jack's death have never been made clear in official Trek canon. In author Michael Jan Friedman's Trek novel Reunion, Jack and another officer, Stargazer security chief Pug Joseph, are attempting to repair a damaged warp nacelle which explodes. Picard arrives on the scene and must choose which officer to save. Pug is closer and therefore more likely to survive, so Picard chooses him. This incident would later form the basis of a test administered to Wesley during Starfleet Academy prep exams, where Wesley is given a hypothetical situation involving two wounded men, only one of which Wesley can save. This was done because Picard's earlier choice resulted indirectly in Jack's death, and Academy instructors wondered whether Wesley could make a similar choice.
Jack Crusher once made a holographic recording of himself, where he explained his life and recent happenings to his son Wesley shortly after his birth. Jack originally intended this to be the first in a series of messages, one every couple of years, but due to a twist of fate, this was the only recording he ever got a chance to make. By the time Wesley first got to view the recording, Jack was already dead.

Doctor Beverly Crusher, played by actress Gates McFadden, was a character on the Star Trek: The Next Generation TV show and subsequent films. She was a regular character in the show for all but the second of its seven seasons.
During the character's absence in the second season, the character of Dr. Katherine Pulaski was added to the series.
Dr. Crusher was the Chief Medical Officer on board the USS Enterprise-D and its successor, the USS Enterprise-E. She initially held the rank of Lieutenant Commander until promoted in 2362 to the rank of Commander. She was the head of Starfleet Medical from 2365 to 2366.
Beverly Howard was born on October 13, 2324 to Paul and Isabel Howard in Copernicus City, Luna.
She married Jack Crusher in 2348 and gave birth to their son Wesley Crusher the following year. Jack Crusher proposed to Beverly Howard by giving her a book called How to Advance Your Career Through Marriage as a gag gift.

Narrator: The Mercury program was over. Four years later, astronaut Gus Grissom was killed, along with astronauts White and Chaffee, when fire swept through their Apollo capsule. But on that glorious day in May 1963, Gordo Cooper went higher, farther, and faster than any other American - 22 complete orbits around the world; he was the last American ever to go into space alone. And for a brief moment, Gordo Cooper became the greatest pilot anyone had ever seen.

Bart on the Road
Orig. airdate March 31, 1996
After the airline refuses to let him change his ticket to Hong Kong from Friday to Saturday without a huge fee, Skinner decides to promote a take-your-kids-to-work-day on the Friday before spring break. Bart very reluctantly goes to the DMV with Patty and Selma (his first choice was staying at home with Marge), Lisa goes to the nuclear power plant with Homer, Milhouse discovers the exciting world of crackers, and Martin makes money in the futures market, though he immediately loses most of the money on the market as well.
At the DMV, Bart makes himself a fake driver's license. He, Nelson, and Milhouse look for a way to use it, so they decide to use Martin's money to rent a car and go on a road trip. As a cover story, the four of them tell their parents that they have been selected by their school to attend the National Grammar Rodeo in Canada.
Instead, they go out joyriding, but soon stop to determine their destination. Finding an old brochure they decide to go to the World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee. But first Nelson makes them stop in Branson, Missouri (Bart: "Dad says it's just like Vegas... if it were run by Ned Flanders"), where he can see his hero, Andy Williams.
Back in Springfield, Homer asks if Lisa would like to come spend her spring break at work with him, and she enjoys herself there. Meanwhile, Marge becomes bored at home. Finding out that the World's Fair has ended many years earlier (the Knoxville World's Fair was held in 1982, nearly 14 years before the episode originally aired), and the aging Sunsphere has been turned into a wig shop, Bart and company do not find Knoxville that exciting, especially when Nelson throws a rock, toppling the Sunsphere, which then wrecks the car. They are stranded with no money and no car, nobody knows where they are, and they cannot tell their parents.
Bart calls Lisa and tells her the truth, and she tells him to become a courier. He does and is able to travel free of charge, such as to Hong Kong to deliver eyeballs (and where he is seen by Skinner), while his friends remain in Tennessee. Bart tells Lisa that she needs to have somebody ship something large to Springfield. Lisa tells Homer, who is very upset and expresses his displeasure by excusing himself before donning one of the plant's safety helmets and letting loose a stream of muffled curses that fog up the visor. After venting his fury, Homer orders the plant a new nuclear console from the Oak Ridge Nuclear Facility in a crate. Bart forces Nelson, Milhouse, and Martin to get in the crate while flying home, and everyone knows about the trip except Marge.
At night in her bed Marge receives a call from Skinner asking if Bart traveled to Hong Kong, a call asking whether her son's car was abandoned in Knoxville, and a call inquiring about Bart's availability to deliver a human kidney in Amsterdam.

The 1982 World's Fair was held in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the United States. The theme of the exposition was "Energy Turns the World."
On 1 May 1982, the 1982 World's Fair opened with the Theme "Energy Turns the World". Across the United States, people had been bombarded with commercials: "You've Got To Be There" became the call for people to journey that summer to Tennessee. The opening ceremony was broadcast on local and regional TV, with President Ronald Reagan arriving to open the fair. TV personality Dinah Shore was the mistress of ceremonies, and artists such as Porter Waggoner and Ricky Scaggs performed as the gates were opened on Knoxville's Fair.
