11 August 1972 (F-5E)

The F-5A/B Freedom Fighter and F-5E/F Tiger II are part of a family of widely used light supersonic fighter aircraft, designed and built by Northrop in the United States, beginning in 1960s.

The USAF made a combat evaluation of the F-5A under the Skoshi Tiger program in 1965. 12 aircraft were delivered for trials to the 4503rd Tactical Fighter Wing (subsequently the 10th Fighter Commando Squadron), redesignated F-5C. They performed combat duty in Vietnam, flying more than 3,500 sorties from the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing at Bien Hoa in South Vietnam. Two aircraft were lost in combat. The program was short-lived, more a political gesture than a serious consideration of the type for U.S. service.

The F-5E eventually received the official name Tiger II.

Days of Wine and D'oh'ses

Original Airdate on FOX: 9-Apr-2000

[TV Guide] Barney quits drinking to take helicopter-flying lessons, leaving Homer feeling resentful and inferior; Lisa and Bart enter a contest to photograph the cover of the Springfield phone book.

[Advertisement] "Tonight, experience HOMERVISION ... when Homer has one (dozen) too many." (Advertisement has multiple overlapped images of Bart, as he would appear to someone intoxicated, saying ...) "Over here Homer."

% The helicopter flies over the Springfield town square, where Lisa
% stands on a ladder and trains her camera on a bird's nest.

Lisa: Now, when the momma bird returns to feed her babies, we'll have a prize-winning picture.

Bart: Lisa, people these days don't want to see a baby bird; they want to see celebrities at their worst.

[just then, Rainier Wolfcastle, looking rather flabby, walks out of the Kwik-E-Mart with a chili dog]

Lisa: Is that Rainier Wolfcastle?

Bart: Check out the gut.

Wolfcastle: It's for a movie. I'm playing a fat secret agent.

"Days of Wine and D'oh'ses" is the eighteenth episode of the eleventh season of The Simpsons. It aired on April 9, 2000.

After watching a video of his birthday party, Barney sees he is a hideous drunk, and he promises to get sober. At first, he finds sustaining sobriety tough, but he finds his way to an AA meeting with Homer's help. Meanwhile, to get their picture on the cover of the new phone book, Bart and Lisa decide to enter an amateur photo contest. In the closet, they find an old camera and start to take snapshots.

Barney makes plans to change his life now that he is clean and sober. The Springfield Flight School is his first stop, where he takes helicopter-flying lessons.

Tom Petty Lyrics

American Girl Lyrics

Well, she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin'
That there was a little more to life somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
And if she had to die tryin'
She had one little promise she was gonna keep

O yeah, all right
Take it easy, baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl

Well it was kind of cold that night,
She stood alone on her balcony
Yeah, she could hear the cars roll by,
Out on 441 like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment
There he crept back in her memory
God it's so painful when something that's so close
Is still so far out of reach

O yeah, all right
Take it easy, baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl

Studio album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Released May 5 1981

Hard Promises is the fourth album by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers released in May, 1981. Its original working title was Benmont's Revenge.[1] It features guest vocals from Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac on the duet "Insider." They would also record the hit "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" for Nicks' album Bella Donna.

This was the second Tom Petty album on the Backstreet Records label. The album's release was delayed while Petty and his distributor MCA Records argued about the list price. The album was slated to be the next MCA release with the new list price of $9.98, following Steely Dan's Gaucho and the Xanadu soundtrack. This so-called "superstar pricing" was $1.00 more than the standard industry price of $8.98. Petty refused to comply to their wishes, threatening to use his artistic control to change the album title to "The $8.98 Album" or "Eight Ninety-Eight" so he could call attention to the price hike. He threatened to withhold the album from the label and organized a fan protest. Rather than risk further negative publicity the record company agreed to a list price of $8.98.

The album's title comes from a line in the chorus of "Insider".

She's a good girl, loves her mama
Loves Jesus and America too
She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Loves horses and her boyfriend too

It's a long day living in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy cos I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin her heart

And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

All the vampires walkin' through the valley
Move west down Ventura Boulevard
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows
And the good girls are home with broken hearts

And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

(backing vocals)
Free fallin', now I'm a, free fallin', now I'm a
Free fallin', now I'm a, free fallin', now I'm a

I wanna glide down over Mulholland
I wanna write her name in the sky
Gonna free fall out into nothin'
Gonna leave this world for a while

(with backing vocals)
And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

(with backing vocals)
And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damn_the_Torpedoes_%28album%29

Damn the Torpedoes is an album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released in 1979 (see 1979 in music). The title is a reference to a famous quote by Admiral David Farragut. The album was recorded at Sound City in Van Nuys and Cherokee Studios in Hollywood.

This album, the band's third, was their first for MCA Records. Their old label, ABC Records, had been sold to MCA; Petty struggled to legally detach himself from MCA, but in the end was forced to settle. He negotiated a deal that allowed him to release his recordings on the new Backstreet Records label, manufactured and distributed by MCA. Damn the Torpedoes ended up being the band's breakthrough hit, and includes many of their best reviewed songs and favorite concert standards today, including "Here Comes My Girl" (the third single release, charting at #59), "Even the Losers" and "Shadow of a Doubt (A Complex Kid)".

Tom Petty Lyrics

The Last DJ Lyrics

Well you can't turn him into a company man
You can't turn him into a whore
And the boys upstairs just don't understand anymore
Well the top brass don't like him talking so much
And he won't play what they say to play
And he don't want to change what don't need to change
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
There goes the last DJ
Well some folks say they're gonna hang him so high
Because you just can't do what he did
There's some things you just can't put in the minds of those kids
As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see
How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJ

[Instrumental break]

Well he got him a station down in Mexico
And sometimes it will kinda come in
And I'll bust a move and remember how it was back then
There goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJ

DURAN DURAN LYRICS

"New Moon On Monday"

Shake up the picture the lizard mixture
With your dance on the eventide
You got me coming up with answers
All of which I deny
I said it again
Could I please rephrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn't really put it much plainer
But I'll wait till you decide
Send me your warning siren
As if I could ever hide
Last time La Luna
[CHORUS]
I light my torch and wave it for the
New moon on Monday
And a firedance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite
Breaking away with the best of both worlds
A smile that you can't disguise
Every minute I keep finding
Clues that you leave behind
Save me from these reminders
As if I'd forget tonight
This time La Luna
[CHORUS]

Tom Petty Lyrics

Saving Grace Lyrics

I'm passing sleeping cities
Fading by degrees
Not believing all I see to be so

I'm flyin' over backyards
Country homes and ranches
Watching life between the branches below

And it's hard to say
Who you are these days
But you run on anyway
Don't you baby?

You keep running for another place
To find that saving grace

I'm moving on alone over ground that no one owns
Past statues that atone for my sins
There's a guard on every door
And a drink on every floor
Overflowing with a thousand amens

And it's hard to say
Who you are these days
But you run on anyway
Don't you baby?

You keep running for another place
To find that saving grace
Don't you baby?

You're rolling up the carpet
Of your father's two-room mansion
No headroom for expansion no more
And there's a corner of the floor
They're telling you is yours
You're confident but not really sure

And it's hard to say
Who you are these days
But you run on anyway
Don't you baby?

You keep running for another place
To find that saving grace

Don't you baby?

You keep running for another place
To find that saving grace

Don't you baby?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_oxford

The University of Oxford (informally "Oxford University"), located in the city of Oxford, England, is the oldest university in the English-speaking world.[4] It is also regarded as one of the world's leading academic institutions. (The name is sometimes abbreviated as Oxon. in post-nominals, from the Latin "Oxoniensis".)

The university traces its roots back to at least the end of the 11th century, although the exact date of foundation remains unclear. After a dispute between students and townsfolk broke out in 1209, some of the academics at Oxford fled north-east to the town of Cambridge, where the University of Cambridge was founded. The two universities have since had a long history of competition with each other (see Oxbridge rivalry).

The University of Oxford is a member of the Russell Group of research-led British universities, the Coimbra Group (a network of leading European universities), the League of European Research Universities, and is also a core member of the Europaeum. Academically, Oxford is consistently ranked in the world's top ten universities.[5][6] For more than a century, it has served as the home of the Rhodes Scholarship, which brings highly accomplished students from a number of countries to study at Oxford as postgraduates.

In the Guardian's subject tables for institutions in tariff-band 6 (universities whose prospective students are expected to score 400 or more tariff points) Oxford took first place for Anatomy and Physiology, Anthropology, Biosciences, Business and Management Studies, Earth and Marine Sciences, Economics, Law, Materials and Mineral Engineering, Modern Languages, Music, Politics, Psychology, and Sociology.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abnormal_psychology

Abnormal psychology is the scientific study of abnormal behavior in order to describe, predict, explain, and change abnormal patterns of functioning. Abnormal psychology in clinical psychology studies the nature of psychopathology, its causes, and its treatments. Of course, the definition of what constitutes 'abnormal' has varied across time and across cultures. Individuals also vary in what they regard as normal or abnormal behavior. In general, abnormal psychology can be described as an area of psychology that studies people who are consistently unable to adapt and function effectively in a variety of conditions. The four main contributing factors to how well an individual is able to adapt include their genetic makeup, physical condition, learning and reasoning, and socialization.
