Ex-football hero Herschel Walker offered an incomprehensible solution to gun violence on Fox News Thursday just days after the Donald Trump-endorsed neophyte won the Republican Senate primary in Georgia. (Watch the video below.)
Walker, responding to the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting that left 19 children dead, noted that “Cain killed Abel” and followed with a head-scratching suggestion.
“What about getting a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women that looking at social media,” he said.
Mangling a well-worn page out of the GOP playbook, the former University of Georgia and Dallas Cowboys running back said he wanted to put money in the “mental health field” instead of “departments that want to take away your rights.”

Stephen Colbert looked at a lot of terrible ideas being pushed by Republicans instead of sensible gun control. But the weirdest one came from ex-football star-turned-politician Herschel Walker.
Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia who is backed by former President Donald Trump, suggested “a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women, that’s looking at their social media - what about doing that?”
“Yeah, what about doing that?” Colbert said on Thursday night. “It’s high time to create the Federal Bureau Of Looking At Young Men Who Are Looking At Women Who Are Looking At Social Media.”
Colbert’s “Late Show” team even came up with a logo for the new federal agency
Walker’s comments also baffled Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday.
“Did he play without a helmet?” Kimmel asked. “That was quite a journey through the mind he took us on.”

The date 3/16/1998 keeps coming up as I investigate this insurrection against the United States of America. I recognize 3/15/1998 as when I left home on this deployment but it could be that 3/15/1998 was the last full day my wife and I spent together and then I left on the morning of 3/16/1998 to begin this deployment. From there, I began the medical process that has left my real memory suppressed from conscious awareness, in support of this effort to prosecute the insurrectionists that are in control of King County, Washington, among other places. (CNN) Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock fired special "incendiary" bullets at a 43,000-barrel fuel tank in what investigators believe was an attempt to cause an explosion, two law enforcement sources told CNN.
Those types of rounds, meant to ignite what they hit, were found inside Paddock's room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and near the fuel tank a short distance away on the grounds of McCarran International Airport, the sources said.
Authorities have previously disclosed that Paddock fired at the tank and struck it with two rifle rounds, when he opened fire on the crowd below from his 32nd floor hotel room on October 1. They had not disclosed that he used incendiary rounds to fire at the tank, which contains jet fuel.

An Action-Packed Summer Read -- Tom Clancy's Latest Storms The Shores

Rumblings in the distance are growing louder, as a phalanx of trucks approaches local bookstores. There is a diesel storm rising.
Tom Clancy is back.
Yes, fans, the latest humongous Clancy doorstop of a book - at 752 pages, a veritable Cortez Kennedy among action-thrillers - officially hits stores tomorrow. From there, it will undoubtedly commence liftoff for The New York Times' best-seller list and eventually a theater near you.
"Rainbow Six," a new techno-thriller about an elite international antiterrorist squad, has all the usual Clancy paraphernalia: action galore, taut plotting, state-of-the art weapons and heroic guys about whose safety the reader need entertain no serious fears.
The main hero here is John Clark, the ex-Navy SEAL who went ballistic in an earlier Clancy novel, "Without Remorse," and whom Clancy has called "the dark side" of his primary hero, Jack Ryan. (Ryan, of course, first surfaced in "The Hunt for Red October" and has since escalated into the most heroic American president since Lincoln).
Clark is quite a fellow, too. He has more decorations than the White House Christmas tree: Navy Cross, Silver Star with a repeat cluster, Bronze Star with Combat-V and three repeats, three Purple Hearts, et al. He's the hero of many covert international missions in which the Free World's bacon was definitively saved.
He may be pushing 60, but Clark can still run with the big dogs, and he still gets that dangerous look on his face that makes smart people not want to mess with him.
There are many stupid people in the world, however, and Clancy has a field day with a bunch of environmental extremists who are the chief (though not only) villains of "Rainbow Six." These wackos have concocted a biological blowout more deadly than anything Saddam Hussein could ever contrive, an apocalypse that will heal Mother Nature and get the buffaloes roaming again on the prairie.
The extremists of "the Project" first manifest themselves in a puzzling series of terrorist strikes, which conveniently begin just as Clark's tautly trained Rainbow squadron is ready for action. But why, they wonder, are they being called upon to counter such incidents as a hostage scenario at a Swiss bank, a high-level kidnapping at a German Schloss and a raid on a Spanish amusement park in which innocent children - two of them in wheelchairs - are held at gunpoint?
Could these incidents be related? That's the question John Clark ponders, but all Clancy fans know the answer: You bet your nuke-launching sub they're related.

Incidentally this novel plan present several interesting sidelights, Assuredly the demand for tutoring has always been great, but that it has reached a state where guaranteed tutoring can be offered to all comers without fear or favor, literacy tests or other qualifications, confounds all previous statistics.
Moreover we see in this new move a valuable suggestion which we would pass on to the authorities for their consideration. Why not have Princeton take the lead in the educational world and actually guarantee its knowledge? Such a move would banish much skepticism which still lurks in the minds of some regarding the value of thc college education, and woud make the road to the realization of the endowment straight and sure!

Seen it before a few times and it is still just as lame as ever.
