Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger faces families of college victims at sentencing
We're standing by, waiting for court proceedings to begin that will see 30-year-old Bryan Kohberger sentenced for the four murders of University of Idaho students in 2022.

The channel 4 KOMO tv news studio is across the street from the Space Needle in downtown Seattle
On May 9, 2006, as I watched the tv from a few miles away, the weather guy gesturing to a video image on the sidewalk below where he was standing and there was a guy standing there on the sidewalk with a canvas on an easel and he seemed to be painting a picture of the Space Needle across the street from him
The next morning, May 10, 2006, I awoke in that grungy homeless shelter on the waterfront in downtown Seattle and I knew with absolute certainty everything I remember about my past was wrong.

According to that article, Callisto is about 1.2 million miles out from Jupiter, which is about 3 times farther away than is Europa from Jupiter.

I wrote earlier that 1/21/76 is the date I think I landed on Mars the first time on my way to the outer solar system. Maybe that is why I was having those thoughts about landing on Mars and gathering ice. I also wonder how easily it is to collect liquid nitrogen on Mars or the moons Phoebe and Callisto.

Maybe my target in 1976 was a comet beyond Saturn but towards the direction of Jupiter as illustrated in this image. Since I was headed in that direction, I was able to make a stop afterwards at Callisto/Jupiter.

Lately I have been trying to figure out if something about me influenced the selection of the name for two other Aegis-equipped cruisers. As I have written, I believe that USS Princeton was fashioned to reflect that I was born in 1959, went to Princeton, and launched from Earth on a mission to space on November 2nd. Just as I was writing that last sentence, I realized how similar the Aegis mission is to what I did to that comet.

Also, it is something about those jellyfish-like creatures they put into that plot element reminds me of something I have been thinking of the past few days. It is kind of creepy actually. I am thinking that if anything, it has something to do with life I encountered on Callisto at Jupiter.

I find myself kind of hoping that my children, of those who knew anything at all about my space flight from 1975 to 1977, thought only that I had been to Mars and that was the sole purpose of the trip. Going to Mars was quite the accomplishment in itself. But I hope they are finding out that it was much more and they are my children. There's more in my mind about it than I can articulate on this feeling. It has been a general feeling lately that I feel happy for them.

I had another dream about being in the water, but this one doesn't seem as important as that one the other day about the carrier. In this one this morning, it was something about a ship dropping its anchor and leaving it. But I want to say that the anchor was discarded until they realized they needed it. I can't remember a lot of details from that dream. I do remember that I was swimming in the water above where the anchor was dropped. I can still kind of visualize the ship and I'm not really sure if it was a U.S. Navy ship. I also want to say all of this occurred in a port somewhere in China. I also want to say they were using something that looked like the Liberty Bell as the anchor. In the dream, I dived below the surface and I did some kind of back-flip to begin the dive and I was pleased with myself for that maneuver, but as I have written other times, there was some kind of delay. It was similar to what I wrote about my pickup going backwards and I was spinning the wheels trying to regain forward momentum but it keep going backwards. I think what this represents is that over-turn I read about and there would be a time, probably seems like forever if you're not used to it, when the aircraft was still flying backwards. I have a lot of thoughts and some possible relevant "memories" on this topic. So that's all I remember about the dream. I think I eventually reached the bottom and I can still kind of visualize that Liberty Bell-shaped anchor.
At one point when I was getting up, I was either dreaming, or half-dreaming, visualizations of being on Callisto at Jupiter. I was seeing myself in the shuttle pod and I was monitoring a device that determined where my Project Orion space ship was at in orbit so that I could intercept the ship with minimal expenditure of propellant. In other thoughts around that time, I was seeing myself landing that Project Orion on the surface of Callisto because there was something on the surface, oxygen I guess, that I needed to transfer into the ship.

I have been thinking that the main reason for not having enough oxygen to return to Earth after completing my mission at the comet was that I had to use the oxygen to change course of my Orion ship.
Something happened that knocked me off course and a serious flaw in that design is that Orion ships quite literally travel as an arrow.
The effect of the propulsion can only occur directly astern of the ship. That means you can't use the main propulsion to change the course of the ship. The propulsion only propels the ship in the direction it is traveling.
In a low-speed ship, it would only take a small amount of alternative propellant to change the attitude of the ship. But with the high-speed Orion ship, it would take a tremendous amount of energy to change the attitude of the ship and that cannot be done by the main propulsion because the nuclear explosion can only occur directly astern of the ship. Since the kick from the main propulsion can only occur directly astern, the ship will continue on whatever course, correct or incorrect, it was traveling along.
So the only way I could get the ship back on course was to discharge a great deal of my oxygen supply and once my course was corrected, I could re-engage the main propulsion.
I discovered water ice on Mars, but first of all, I had no way of turning around and going back, and second of all, if I was going to turn back for Mars, I might have just gone back to Earth. So if I was going to go back to Earth, I could have made a higher-speed run to Saturn and then done a sling-shot around Saturn for a high-speed return to Earth. I could have returned to Earth, repaired my ship and then intercepted the comet, while much closer to Earth. Fortunately for Earth, I chose to continue on the planned mission because as it turned out, my strike would not have succeeded if not for hitting the comet so far from Earth.
