That is another, kind humorous actually, reason why George W. Bush is so deranged about torturing me. He knows that I flew a jet in combat with our Vietnamese allies - when I was 12 years old - while he used his daddy's connections, as usual, to support his coward lifestyle.

That could be the reason I was thinking about Van Nuys for a while a few months ago. I had been thinking that I went to high school there. But I do think there is some connection with me to that place; I am just not sure what. One idea is that I had a girlfriend who went to that school

I keep finding myself thinking that my family was very angry to find out that I had been flying in combat with the Vietnamese Air Force. I am thinking that is the source of some of those "memories" I wrote about earlier, where I got in trouble a few times for something. I am thinking also that I lied to my family about my participation with the South Vietnamese military.

I have found myself thinking more about those columns of smoke rising from the back of 1967 blue Chevrolet. But I feel as though I am trying to remember a moment of flashback in my reality. I think of myself sitting in a car, it is a Mustang, and there is a woman in the passenger seat. Out of the corner of my eye, I see smoke rising behind us and I have a strong flashback, thinking they are incoming missiles and I need to react quickly without thinking. I have these thoughts that I tore off the gear shift thinking it was the stick in my aircraft. And I think I twisted the steering wheel to evade but then I think I probably grabbed the door handle or something on the door thinking it was the throttle. Then I think about that scene from "Unbreakable" and I wonder if I crashed the car in the midst of my flashback. I want to say I was in Hawaii at the time, home on leave after perhaps being in Lebanon in the early 80's. There was something else I wanted to
note about this but it just slipped my mind. That seems to be happening more often.

At the moment, a low-light television in his targeting systems showed them to be covered with Russian T-80 tanks, all heading west. Ellington evaluated the picture on his television screen. This could only be the second echelon of the army deployed to attack NATO. There was an SA-6 battery atop Hill 76 south of the bridges on the east bank, sited there to defend them. It had to be fully alert now. His earphones chirped constantly with noise from his threat receiver as the search radars from a score of air-defense batteries swept continuously over his aircraft. If only one of them got a good return... Pucker factor, Ellington reflected grimly.
"How's the Pave Tack?"
"Nominal," Eisly responded curtly. Pilot and back-seater were both under enormous stress.

Designated as DDG 112, the name honors Lt. Michael Murphy who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during Operation Red Wing, in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005.
