I think I have written more than once about the sense in my mind after I started being treated at the VA in the summer of 2005. I guess it could have started before but I tend to associate a specific sense in my mind with that period in the VA. I was pondering over it in great detail a few days or weeks ago before I watched "Mission To Mars" on television recently and I write of it now in that context of time because of certain details that I have noted for that film "Mission To Mars." As I was pondering again in great detail a few weeks ago I guess it was I was thinking about how after I started treatment at the VA I was seeing something when I closed my eyes that I thought of as the circuit patterns on printed electronic circuit boards. I mentioned it to my doctor at the VA but I cannot remember if I mentioned specifically what I was seeing. I remember him saying something but it was not anything specific that I can recall. I think it was just some
off-hand remark similar to when I told the nurse that I wanted to take the medication in the different tablet form because the one type was a bitter pill and she said something about how she was sure it was. I cannot remember if I said specifically that it was a bitter pill to swallow but I think I used all those words to describe my distaste with that particular tablet. So anyway, when I was thinking about it again a few weeks ago I was pondering over what seemed to almost be images that were flashing before my closed eyes and it was similar to the green PCB's but there was some other color too that I cannot describe. I'll probably think of it later. So as I was thinking about it again recently I was thinking of how I would describe what I was seeing and I would describe it as though there was a printed circuit board that filled my vision but that board was covered by some kind of material that I would describe as a piece of black construction paper
and it seemed that my vision with my eyes closed was that rectangular sheet of black construction paper. When I was in treatment at the VA I started seeing images in my mind that seemed to be of a narrow strip of that construction paper that was being peeled away and then I could that beneath that sheet of paper was the printed circuit board. The strip that was peeled away was very narrow and I would estimate that if my vision with closed eyes was the size of a regular sheet of paper then that strip that was peeled away in an uneven strip that was not very jagged but yet not parallel or even in any manner in its course through the sheet of paper was probably the width of a pencil which is a measurement I just now thought of.

There seems to be something important about a dream I had a few hours earlier. I can't remember all the details to it now but it seems that I was actually thinking while I was sleeping about the dream I had earlier as I was sleeping. That makes me think I wanted to remember the dream when I woke up. Not sure how that works. Anyway, the operative detail about the dream seems to be that I was leaving a hospital where I had been a patient but I can't remember any details about being in there as a patient, which is puzzling me for reasons I can't articulate. So I was leaving and there were 2 people with me that I guess were taking me out of there. There was a doctor talking to me and perhaps another person with him. I found myself thinking about that doctor giving me a folder, apparently with information relevant to me, and that doctor refered to me as doctor, in terms of that also being my title.

I've had several dreams where something was wrong with my chest, as though I had a broken bone in my chest, a broken rib in my upper chest. In my dream, I can feel something is definitely out of place, although I don't remember any pain in the dream. This all might explain why I have puzzled over something about an area on my right pectoral, something just doesn't seem right, as though there is something wrong with one of the ribs there. There is nothing painful associated with this area, rather something just seems out of place. In the dream though, the area that seems out of place in a slightly different place, but in the same general area. I have also had vague thoughts that it was something that happened when I was in deep space in 1976.

One detail I do remember from my dreams last night was about bullet scars. I was pointing out three bullet scars on my upper left thigh. But I'm not sure what that means as I don't see any scars like that at that location. There are three scars that I think are bullet scars, but they are on my arms. One is midway along my left forearm and the other two are on my right forearm near my elbow. The left one is larger than the right ones and surely must have broke my arm. There are other scars on my arms too but I don't think they are bullet wounds, although I feel as though there are other old wounds that I can't see because they are obscured by hair. The scar on my right wrist, I believe, is a shrapnel wound. The scar on my left hand is from a power drill. I think I was shot in the back with a shotgun and I want to say that happened during the Panama invasion. There is a cut above my right eye that looks almost surgical in appearance and I am thinking it
was from torture

Antidepressants fail to cure the symptoms of major depression in half of all patients with the disease even if they receive the best possible care, according to a definitive government study released yesterday.
Significant numbers of patients continue to experience symptoms such as sadness, low energy and hopelessness after intensive treatment, even as about an equal number report an end to such problems -- a result that quickly lent itself to interpretations that the glass was either half empty or half full.
The $35 million taxpayer-funded study was the largest trial of its kind ever conducted. Very interesting dream that featured prominently my imaginary girlfriend, whom made me smile today. She told me in the dream "when I'm ready." That's what I was hoping to hear, but then, just like sitting in front of the tv, none of it is really real. There was at least one, maybe more, weird strange aspects to the dream, but I think it was just mischief on the part of the dream manipulator. I figured she was personally directing the dream and threw that in to screw with my head, or someone else was relaying her comments/whatever-however-it's-done to my sleeping mind. After awaking I was extremely annoyed at the people that are actively disturbing my sleep. I slept one time for almost 6 hours, but all the other times are no more than 3 hours every 12 hours or so. I'm going crazy here, I need some goddamned sleep.
And before the happy-time-with-my-imaginary-girlfriend segment of the dream, there was something about something collapsing that I didn't want to be around.

I was thinking of how my wife Phoebe was showing off to my grandmother a collection of art I had created for her over the years such as medallions and so on. In one case though I had given her the medal of a Navy Cross I had received during the Vietnam War and I created an elaborate cover story for explaining where I got that item and I never did tell her that the item was a Navy Cross medal and I am not certain if she ever figured that out. So anyway, the story was elaborate and I told her among the details that I was overseas sometime around the timeframe of 1970 or earlier or later and I got that item from a shoebox a woman gave that included some items such as a wristwatch and other items and that woman was named Charlie. My grandmother pondered that detail and never did elaborate on what that meant to her but they did talk a lot afterwards and I guess my grandmother was interested in all the other stories associated with the art I had created for my
wife.

Yesterday was some kind of foreign dream that was more of an emotion than a visualization. I couldn't remember any of the details although I felt like I had been seeing details. All I remembered was feeling like it was something intense, there was some intensity to the communication, almost overwhelming like a very strong and clear signal on a radio. After I woke up, I could only characterize the message as positive.
Today the first foreign dream wasn't too clear either. It had something to do with me, someother characters, and something about the stars. We were under the stars, or we were talking to the stars. I can visualize the sky with the stars but they may have also been a metaphor for people. Then I left somewhere and there was something about a goose, not sure what that meant, maybe something to do with staying meant something about a cooked goose.
The second foreign dream had a lot of detail. I was sitting on a bus with someone that I knew but I don't know who it was. It may have been Britney Spears but that makes no sense. I was sitting next to her and she was someone that I had lived with before, someone I had a relationship with, like a girlfriend. I was getting off the bus to a place I was staying that I don't recognize from anyplace I've been in real life. She asked me if I was really staying there, she may have commented that it was amazing I was staying there, or someone else said that. Apparently, it was the same place she and I had lived during our relationship. It was some kind of little travel trailer. A young woman was letting me stay there. I was taking up a little open seat or bench in a hallway of the trailer. I had a little storage bin to put my stuff in.

Catching a Ride to Destiny
The sight of the Astrovan's shiny silver exterior and bold NASA emblem evokes pride and excitement in those who watch it wind its way toward the launch pad at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Before each space shuttle launch, astronauts smile and wave as they board the van that will carry them to meet their fully fueled ride to space.
Since 1984, each shuttle crew has travelled those nine miles, from their crew quarters to the launch pad, aboard the same vehicle. A modified Airstream motor home, the "Astrovan" as it is called has only racked up 24,000 miles in its 24 years of service. That's because it's used solely to transport the astronauts on three occasions: to the launch pad for launch dress rehearsal, on launch day and after landing.
The earlier shuttle flights had fewer crew members, so they used the Apollo-era astronaut transport van that now can be seen by tourists at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex's Apollo/Saturn V Center.

I sat in this location for hours and the map is a good illustration of why I was there. I had been expecting the Navy to meet with me at that location and I assume that is why the Momsen was there on my birthday but I wondered if they were only there to remind me that I wasn't forgotten while I continue my assignment or they were there because they were being obstructed by hostile forces from transporting me back to base.
Assuming this link will still work, as it recently stopped working, the illustration points out where I spent many hours sitting. If you trace back to the 3 unmistakable landmarks that are the antennas on one of the Seattle hills, then it is perfectly aligned with streets 3rd and Thomas. Those 3 towers are more distinctive to the Seattle skyline than is the Space Needle. I was also sitting there all that time in plain sight of the Seattle P-I news building.

So who or what does Barbara Kelly represent? She was my next door neighbor at that first apartment I had in Greenville in 1990. I looked it up the other day and it was, or now is, named Preserve at Wood's Lake. I moved from there to Wexford in nearby Taylors. She invited me one day to go to this nightclub close to where we lived, near the Greenville airport, not the GSP. We used to go over there a lot in the evenings after work. I can't remember the name of that place but I would recognize it if I saw it. AH...it was The Phoenix. She was first dating a guy that worked for a supermarket. Then she dated and then married Jim French. Jim used to hang out with us at the Phoenix with his then-girlfriend. I met Jim and his co-workers one time, at his place I think. They worked for some outfit that had something to do with airplanes. Never did really know what they did.

Washington and Demme grant Marco with a helplessness that seemed to be lacking in Sinatra's portrayal; his broken man Marco is a far cry from Sinatra's in the fact that while Sinatra all too easily asserts himself from the experiments conducted on him, Washington makes us know that such things always haunt the person -- seeing his home in disarray, obsessed with what happened to him while on duty, looking like a man who is about to lose it at any moment. It clearly becomes his story as he is its soul, and ultimately, Shaw's liberator.
Watching this movie last year gave me another clue about the nature of my problem. There was a scene in the movie that I made a direct connection to. It was when the scientist-guy was telling Denzel’s character that maybe all this was the dream and he was still in the war. I had written about that very thing earlier in my journal. I had written about the recurring dreams I used to have where I would wake up back on the ship and we were still in the Gulf. I had dreamt all this life, it was still 1988, but I had dreamed ahead a few years. It was an unsettling dream. So anyway, that told me, combined with everything else going on, that this movie had something to do with me, such as the writers were tracking me somehow, for some reason. There was something else about it. I got the sense there were three factions out there that knew who I was. Until I saw this movie, I was only thinking of two, both at Microsoft. I also wondered about the coincidence of
M.C. for both the title of the movie and for Microsoft Corporation. So anyway, I started thinking in terms of three factions. One faction was my supporters at Microsoft. The second faction was my detractors at Microsoft (why I had detractors, I didn’t understand.). And the new third faction I was seeing was a group of people that supported me but did not support Microsoft. I don’t know who they were, but I sensed their presence after watching this movie and I felt some kind of connection to Denzel’s character. It was especially relevant to me because I was feeling really disturbed about those strange, seemingly “suggested” dreams I was having. The ultimate strangers in a strange land, travel-weary astronauts Gene Cernan and Harrison "Jack" Schmitt huddled in their tiny Apollo 17 lunar lander, ate military-issue omelets, harmonized "good morning to you" and stumbled through a silly parody of The Night Before Christmas.
The date was Dec. 14, 1972, the day America retreated from the moon.
Apollo 17, launched 30 years ago Saturday, represents the closing chapter in an awe-inspiring series of a half-dozen, 240,000-mile expeditions that unfolded over a dizzying 42 months. The Apollo program delivered a dozen American astronauts to the moon's rugged terrain for an unprecedented, firsthand look at another world.
Cernan and Schmitt had spent 75 hours on the lunar surface in a boulder-strewn, mountain valley known as Taurus-Littrow. While there, they took three grueling moon walks totaling 22 hours and covered 20 miles in a battery-powered lunar rover, collecting samples of the craters, rocks and mountain slopes.
Giddy with exhaustion, they were ready to come home.
As their final day on the moon wore on, light-hearted banter with Mission Control in Houston became serious as Cernan, the commander, and Schmitt, the pilot, turned their attention to the checklist they had to complete before the fragile spacecraft could leave for Earth.
Finally, at 4:56 p.m. CST, Cernan turned to Schmitt for a final exchange, "OK, Jack, let's get this mother outta here."
Schmitt jabbed a control panel button that sparked the spacecraft's ascent rocket in response and announced, "Ignition."
With those last words, the boxy lunar lander leaped away in a cloud of dust and gravel. Cernan, the last human to walk on the moon, and Schmitt, the only trained scientist ever to make the voyage, were headed back to Earth with 243 pounds of moon rocks.
