Whenever during any insurrection against the Government of the United States, after the President shall have declared by proclamation that the laws of the United States are opposed, and the execution thereof obstructed, by combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, or by the power vested in the marshals by law, any person, or his agent, attorney, or employee, purchases or acquires, sells or gives, any property of whatsoever kind or description, with intent to use or employ the same, or suffers the same to be used or employed in aiding, abetting, or promoting such insurrection or resistance to the laws, or any person engaged therein; or being the owner of any such property, knowingly uses or employs, or consents to such use or employment of the same, all such property shall be lawful subject of prize and capture wherever found; and it shall be the duty of the President to cause the same to be seized,

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is a United States federal law enforcement agency within the United States Department of Justice (see 28 U.S.C. § 561). Although the Marshals Service itself dates only to 1969, the office of U.S. Marshal is the oldest federal law enforcement office in the United States.
The USMS is the enforcement arm of the United States federal courts. U.S. Marshals protect court officers and buildings and ensure the effective operation of the judicial system. The US Marshals Service assists with court security and prisoner transport, serves arrest warrants and seeks fugitives.
Regional Organization
The U.S. court system is divided into 94 Districts, each with a U.S. Marshal, a Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal (GS-15) (and an Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal (GS-14) in certain larger districts), Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshals (GS-13), and as many Deputy U.S. Marshals (GS-5 and above) and Special Deputy U.S. Marshals as needed.

The Director and each United States Marshal is appointed by the President of the United States and subject to confirmation by the United States Senate. The District U.S. Marshal is traditionally appointed from a list of qualified law enforcement personnel for that district or state. Each state has at least one district, while several larger states have three or more.

The Royal and Parliamentary Titles Act 1927 (17 Geo 5, c. 4) was an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom, granted Royal Assent on 12 April 1927, that formed a significant landmark in the constitutional history of the UK and British Empire as a whole. It altered the name of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, recognising the separation of Southern Ireland from the United Kingdom as the Irish Free State in 1922.
Consequences of the Act
Name of the Kingdom
The Act had two consequences. The first was to change the full name of the United Kingdom (UK) to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the former United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, in recognition of the fact that all of Ireland except the North-East had seceded to form a separate dominion, the Irish Free State.
Title of the King
A second function was to modify the King's title, proclaiming that George V was not king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions but rather of Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominions. The full title of the Act was An Act to provide for the alteration of the Royal Style and Titles and of the Style of Parliament and for purposes incidental thereto. This change was likely a product of an agreement at the Imperial Conference of 1926 changing the relationship between Britain and the dominions as outlined in the Balfour Declaration of 1926. It was the Balfour Declaration in which it was agreed that the United Kingdom and the dominions were "equal in status, in no way subordinate one to another in any aspect of their domestic or external affairs, though united by common allegiance to the Crown, and freely associated as members of the British Commonwealth of Nations".
Relations with Ireland
Separating the role of the Crown in Great Britain and in Ireland ended the right of the government in London to advise the King on actions to take regarding Ireland. The King of Ireland would take advice only from ministers in Dublin. The new Governor-General of the Irish Free State in Dublin also became a conduit between the King of Ireland and the Executive Council of the Irish Free State (the government), and did not receive confidential instructions and documents from the London government.
An interesting consequence of the 1927 Act was that Edward VIII's abdication in 1936 required separate legal acknowledgement in each Commonwealth nation. In the Irish Free State, that acknowledgment, in the form of the External Relations Act, occurred a day later than elsewhere, leaving Edward technically as "King of Ireland" for a day

Dominion Views on the Imperial Conference. - Discussion on the Report of the Imperial Conference in the House of Commons was brief and unilluminating; no motion of approval was brought forward, and the motion for the adjournment for the Whitsuntide recess furnished merely the opportunity for some general observations. The most interesting criticism was that of Sir John Marriott, who pointed out that there was a tendency in the Dominion discussions of the Report to accentuate the position of the King as the head of the Executive Government of the Empire, but to repudiate the authority of the King in Parliament. He alluded to the sinister associations of this divorce of the two functions of sovereignty, but met with slight comfort from the Secretary of State, who instead developed a theory, to which perhaps too little attention had been paid, of the function of the Crown, as "common to the whole Empire, one and indivisible, constituting them all one
common body of British subjects, embracing Governments unfettered and free in their action, all morally bound by the fact that they were Governments of the same Crown, responsible to an electorate composed of subjects of the Crown, and, as such, loyal to the Crown and to each other." This is a little difficult to apply to the case of the Irish Free State, in which the conception of Irish citizen has for all political purposes superseded that of the British subject, and the name of the Crown has been sedulously omitted from all governmental and judicial proceedings. The Prime Minister of Newfoundland on May 11 definitely repudiated any complicity in securing the Report, declaring that Newfoundland had not asked for and did not wish autonomy. The change in status would mean that in the case of future difficulties, if an application were made to the King and the Imperial Government for aid, e.g. in the shape of a Royal Commission, the answer might well be
"Physician, heal thyself."

Former General Electric Co. chief Jack Welch has married Suzy Wetlaufer, the former editor of the Harvard Business Review with whom he became romantically involved while she wrote a profile of him three years ago. Saturday's ceremony was in Boston. The couple's secret relationship raised eyebrows three years ago as Welch, now 68, was still married. His wife of 13 years, Jane Beasely Welch, discovered the liaison through e-mails, and within months they were divorced. The love affair cost Wetlaufer her job.

Propaganda, the coordinated attempt to influence public opinion through the use of media, was skillfully used by the Nazi Party in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler's leadership of Germany (1933–1945). Nazi propaganda provided a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of their policies, including the pursuit of total war and the extermination of millions of people in the Holocaust.
As to the methods to be employed, he explains:
"Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side. (...) The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget. Such being the case, all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward. (...) Every change that is made in the subject of a propagandist message must always emphasize the same conclusion.
