This Is What I Think.

I mean, that was one heavy bicycle I had back then.

And then there was all the stuff I carried in my packs on the bicycle and gear I attached to it. Often was very cold outside when I started so I was dressed in layers of clothing

Spokane was easier to bicycle to because distance was shorter and not as many steep hills. About 50 miles there and back to Coeur d'Alene - where I was certain I would find something I need - and then I would return after a few hours away from my apartment. Stop at the stairs, take off my helmet, sometimes image the odometer, and then literally hoist up off the sidewalk that heavy bicycle and gear. Without the wheels touching anything, I would literally carry on right-side at shoulder level that heavy bicycle as I climbed three flights of stairs to my apartment.

At 55 years, only a few years ago from now, I would feel tired afterwards, and hungry, would need only a few hours of sleep that night. Get up the next day with no pains anywhere and feeling no worse than before the excursion.

Shuttle Poised for Satellite Rescue Today : Space: Endeavour should overtake orbiting target by mid-afternoon. Crew will then attempt to lasso and relaunch device.

May 10, 1992 ROBERT W. STEWART TIMES STAFF WRITER

HOUSTON — The nation's newest space shuttle, Endeavour, on Saturday streaked toward an unprecedented attempt to rescue a stranded communications satellite today by attaching it to a new rocket motor designed to propel it into a higher orbit.

As Endeavour entered its third day in space, the seven-member crew made detailed preparations to retrieve the $150-million satellite, which was left in a useless low-Earth orbit in March, 1990, when the commercial Titan rocket that launched it malfunctioned.

Engineers for the communications consortium that owns the satellite, International Telecommunications Satellite Organization, have been directing the device toward its rendezvous position by activating thrusters on the satellite that dropped it from a 350-mile-high orbit to an orbit 225 miles above the Earth.

By Saturday evening, the shuttle was trailing the Intelsat 6 satellite by 975 miles, and was closing at a rate of 86 miles each orbit.

Pilot: Part 1

Seven Days

a secret branch of the government has in their possession technology from the alien landing at Roswell, and they were able to use it to create a time machine that can send someone back in time seven days. And they would like to send someone back before this happened and tell what's going to happen before it does so they can prevent it. Now all they need is someone to send back, as the trip is excruciating. Frank Parker is an ex-Navy SEAL and CIA operative who has been confined to a mental hospital. He has been chosen as their "chrononaut" (or time traveler), as he has a high tolerance for pain, but at the same time he's a bit of a wildcard, as he doesn't like to be told what to do, or follow rules.

Lt. Frank Parker: I fly the needles as well as they're designed! Better!

Nathan Ramsey: Then how come your record for perfect lands are exactly zero?

Lt. Frank Parker: [gestures to the sphere] Because sometimes Lulu's got a mind of her own.

Dr. Olga Vukavitch: Lulu?

Lt. Frank Parker: It's a private thing...

Nathan Ramsey: Well, that figures, Parker. Can't make either one of your girlfriends do what you want.
