Sydnee Scofield is a native Spokanite who joined the KREM 2 News team as an evening news anchor and reporter in January 2026.
Sydnee was born and raised in Liberty Lake and is a graduate of Central Valley High School (Go Bears!). She also served as the Spokane Lilac Festival Queen during her senior year of high school. She then earned a journalism degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
She has worked as an anchor and reporter in newsrooms in Nevada (KOLO), Washington (KHQ), Colorado (KRDO), and North Carolina (WTVD) — and is grateful to continue her career in her hometown.
Sydnee has been honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Writing and an Emmy award for highlighting the local impact of the war in Ukraine hours after it began.
She's most passionate about covering the criminal justice system, previously covering high-profile cases all the way from the crime scene to the courtroom. Through her coverage of a cold case in Colorado, she began to work with a nonprofit called the National Women's Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation, a national organization based out of Vancouver, WA. She now volunteers as their Director of Communications, helping ensure victims and survivors have a voice through all stages of the criminal justice process and beyond.
