My blog-post immediately prior caused me to think of something else to look at in my original-work.
Now I am distracted and I cannot find that image I am certain I saw before. If I find it, I will note it in the following part of this note
This first part is about an image from my 10th grade year
That was my second year in Ashdown, Arkansas. I grew up in De Queen, Arkansas, and I attended first through eighth grades there
That's me in the photo on the left-hand side with the belt through the Wrangler denim jeans
To my right-side is Lisa Waller
We had slightly coupled enough up by that point she had demanded to know why I never called her on the telephone.
When I did call her, all I could think about was talking about the animals I had legally killed with my rifle and shotgun when legally hunting during the authorized seasons
I liked her but we soon drifted apart. She was in the 12th grade and I was in the tenth grade so probably just as well. Girls were always chasing me around and were a lot more open about their interest in me. Girls in De Queen liked me too but there was a difference and I guess it was because we all knew each as children. Also, I was so withdrawn and introverted. Relationships were complicated and scary, I had learned very well already from the turmoil Thedia had caused for me to observe.
In Ashdown, I was the new kid in town.
So anyway, I look at this for the improbable.
I remember that day. Mrs. Hill transported us over to the courthouse in her personal car. At one point, that guy asked if we had any questions for him. "Nope", I said. Same from the other kids. I always think of that when I see Mrs. Hill in that photo.

Found the photo from the yearbook I had looked for
From the 9th grade. One of the guys in the 1993 photo made me think of Chad Trammel
There is not really enough similarity to merit any illustration. Maybe I didn't find it. Not looking through it again tonight.
Chad was the valedictorian of our high-school class. In the year 1994 at our ten-year high-school reunion, he was on active-duty as a JAG attorney with the US Air Force.
I remember talking with him. I bought beers for him in Texarkana one night because of that time in the 9th grade when I wrecked his car.
No real damage to it but you should have seen the other guy.
Never have found out if that car was the Ford Comet model. There was a similar version from another maker and a buddy down on Hicks Road had that other version. Not sure which had which version. The Wikipedia page with the image of the 1973 Mercury Comet reminds me of that car Chad was driving that night. He was reluctant to let me drive but I was insistent. Moments later I backed it into Lesa Jewell's future husband's pickup. I think I was intimidating enough he didn't press the matter towards me.
That was right around the time of Camp Couchdale in 1981.
02/22/2022. The very first time I mentioned that Class of 1993. Thought had never occurred to me before that day. I had been referring to Princeton University in my journals since year 2006. Never gave any thought to 6/8/1993 until that day.

She was in the 12th grade and I was in the 10th grade.
I don't know how it was for other people that went on active-duty in the US Navy fleet
When I think back all these years it is as though everything was suspended for me
I was very responsible as a young adult, much more responsible as a drunk young adult than most, at a time when the 21-year-old law for alcohol consumption was not yet uniformly standard in the USA.
For me, the only time I can ever recall needing people to be around was when I came back from the Persian Gulf in 1988
I drove back to Arkansas because the only time I had ever felt I had a home was those last 3 years before I graduated high-school and my brain just could not let that go
So I went back there and found it gone that home. I also could not find any of the friends at the places we used to go in town to hang out.
So I sat there in a parking lot in my pickup truck thinking someone would certainly show up
Then a young woman about my age pulled up in her car. I remember her vaguely, she was in the 12th grade when I was in the 10th but not certain if I had ever actually spoken to her. She looked different too
I drove off
We did that at least a couple more times driving through the streets before we started talking after she had chased me down that night in July 1988.
