I loved that little kid and it is a horrible feeling to know now that she doesn't exist. It was bad enough that I never got to see her again, but now I know she never existed. And I wonder, greatly, if she represents someone else in my real life. I can remember this one time, it was Christmas Eve. Tracie and I were assembly toys for Amanda at Tracies parents house. I got called into work and after I got through, I called Tracie and told her I wasn't going to drive back because I was a long ways away. Tracie was disappointed and wanted me to come back. That reminds me a red wagon I had at Homer's farm outside Antler's and my sister had a smaller green wagon. I thought more about that the other day when I saw an image in a news article where some company was testing a spacesuit designed for a Mars expedition and the person had a red wagon nearby. The first toy I gave her was one of those mechanical little yapping dogs and it was funny, or something like heart-wrenching in my memory, to watch her trying to hug it.

There was that dream I had the other night, where I was inside a missile. I remembered today the similarity with this movie, in that Cochrane converted an ICBM into his warp ship. But why would someone create a connection between me and Cochrane? I didn't create warp drive in the past only to have someone block my memory of that, did I? It's funny, when I read something the other day about Data arguing with Einstein, it reminded me of something I was writing in my journal back in the early '90s. I was wondering why it was impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. A couple years ago I was writing about it again. The idea presented itself to me about why it was impossible, something about atoms not being able to work because electrons could not transfer energy faster than the speed of light. I wondered if it was possible to create some kind of process to transfer energy to those atoms, not unlike a cell's mitochondria works. Today I have been wondering if anything I remember about the past is real.

One of Walt Disney's last plans had been for what he called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or EPCOT. While he died before the plans could be refined, they became the inspiration for the second major phase of development at Walt Disney World, and in 1979 ground was broken for the new park in Florida. EPCOT Center, a combination of Future World and World Showcase and representing an investment of over one billion dollars, opened to great acclaim October 1, 1982.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Oct. 4— The houselights at Epcot Center's American Adventure exhibit dimmed, the curtain rose and a spotlight beamed. ''Excuse me, Mr. Twain,'' said a deep, recorded voice.
But Mark Twain, or, rather, his android double in this highly computerized addition to Walt Disney World, was nowhere to be seen. ''In his cups, maybe,'' grumbled an official of Walt Disney Productions in the audience. An unflappable young Disney host gave a more polite explanation: ''Because of technical difficulties, we ask that you exit through the doors at your left. Please check back with us later.''
Frustrating Technical Glitches
It was a scene repeated again and again on the billion-dollar Epcot Center's first weekend open to a public that seemed to find it dazzling, despite pervasive technical difficulties.
Officials say they hope to get the bugs out before the official grand opening, scheduled for Oct. 22-24. For visitors this past weekend, the excitement was tinged by the frustration of going back and forth among exhibits, only to be told they were ''not operational,'' as the Disney hosts had been instructed to describe breakdowns.
''It's interesting but it's a little disappointing,'' said Romola Barnett of Mobile, Ala., as she left Epcot with her husband. ''We've been here three days, and three days it hasn't been working.''
Disney officials estimated that almost 100,000 people attended Walt Disney World here in Epcot's first three days, and a large portion of them are thought to have visited the new center. Samplings of 9 Lands
The new section of the park has two parts: Future World, which highlights the history and progress of technology in transportation, communication, energy and agriculture, and World Showcase, which gives visitors samplings of the United States and eight foreign countries.
Future World's exhibits are sponsored by several American corporations, which is to pay $300 million over the next 10 years. While the corporate message was kept subtle by the Disney designers, there was little doubt the companies would gain some benefit.

Kingdome
The Kingdome was an indoor sports and entertainment arena owned and operated by King County, Washington. The Kingdome received its nickname from King County, and was officially known as the King County Domed Stadium and often called the Dome. Before its destruction it was located at the west end of Seattle's Industrial District, just south of Pioneer Square. The building was completed in 1976 on reclaimed tideflat land formerly occupied by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway's freight yards. It served as home to the Seattle Mariners baseball team, the Seattle Seahawks American football team, and the Seattle SuperSonics basketball team for several years. The Kingdome was demolished by implosion on March 26, 2000 the implosion was filmed by legendary avant-garde/experimental filmmaker Jon Behrens.
The footprint is now occupied by Qwest Field.
