I have not had any similar aches and pains as this problem with my shoulder, which still lingers slightly, in a long time. The funny part about this is that in the days leading up to this observation, over the span of several hours during two days, as best I recall, I was experiencing an extensive line of thought about Kerry Burgess having returned. The real Kerry Burgess and not me pretending and lying about being Kerry Burgess and lying because I do not have any alternative except to maintain this identity and who can prove anyway that I am not Kerry Burgess?

So the funny part is that, during all that thinking, sometime, I am pretty certain was on 30 October 2010, Kerry Burgess was standing in my living room and he wanted to know why I had the matches laid out on my keyboard.

Damn, my left shoulder has really started hurting the past hour or longer. It is something that is close to my shoulder, actually, but under the clavicle and the pain in on my back to, about where the shoulder blade would be. The pain is almost bad enough that I cannot really move my left arm, although it is not that bad. The feeling may be closer to a muscle spasm in the area of my left shoulder blade.

Some time after being shot on duty, Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes awakens in hospital to find it deserted with bodies strewn everywhere. He returns to his his home to find it abandoned but believes his wife and son may still be alive. He meets Morgan Jones and his son Duane who explain to him that the world has been overrun with zombies. The disease usually started with an infection and high fever followed by re-animation. The creatures are attracted to sound and eat flesh to survive. Morgan tells him that he thinks there is a refugee center in Atlanta and Rick sets off in the hope of finding his wife and child. Once there, he finds himself surrounded by the undead with little apparent hope of escaping.....until he hears a voice over the radio.

Having been allowed into the CDC building, the survivors meet Dr. Edwin Jenner who appears to be the only survivor in the facility. There is plenty of food and drink and the surroundings are comfortable. A drunken Shane tries to reconcile with Lori Grimes, but she will have nothing to do with it. Dr. Jenner shows them how the infection works to reanimates a dead corpse but admits that he hasn't been able to make any advance on defeating it. Despair sets in at the realization that there is no cure for the plague that has enveloped them. Jenner has his own plans for the future leaving the survivors only a few minutes to leave the facility. Not everyone chooses to leave however.

Continuing on from last week, Dr. Jenner allows the group inside the walls of the CDC, but he warns them that once the doors are shut, they can't be opened again. Everyone must submit to a blood test before they are fully welcomed inside. No one turns out to be infected, so Jenner gives them full access to the facility.
The group enjoy hot showers and meals with wine. Jenner explains that he's the only staffer left after everyone else either went home to be with their families or killed themselves. Later Lori is alone in one of the facility's rec rooms, but a drunk Shane finds her and tries to force himself on her, explaining that he was sure that Rick had died. She reminds him that Rick isn't dead and that they can't continue on the way they were, but Shane isn't listening. Lori finally has to shove Shane off her.
