The Fourth Protocol (1987)

About 10:30 PM this evening I started watching this film on the not-so-cheap and not-so-free section of free movies of the Comcast On Demand cable television service in Seattle Washington.

Right before the scene where Pierce Brosnan, while portraying an officer in the Soviet Union with the rank of major, kills the other Soviet Union officer who briefed him, thus seeming to eliminate another source with knowledge of his mission, other than the director of the Soviet Union KGB, I was thinking to myself that I have no real emotional attachment in my mind about whether or not I have ever seen this film before tonight. Only just then did that particular distinction enter my mind and I thought for a few minutes about how my mind did care whether or not I had ever watched the 1991 film "Timebomb." As for this 1987 film "The Fourth Protocol" my mind did not really care if I had seen it before. For some reason, as though something in my mind says to me over and over "You have never watched this film before You have never watched this film before You have never watched this film before" when I watched "Timebomb" and some other films.

I recognized tonight, which I had noted before tonight in that free movies section but only tonight gave serious thought to watching it, the title "The Fourth Protocol" because I noted a couple of years ago or so that it premiered the same day as the film "Hamburger Hill." But again, I did not care if I had ever seen "The Fourth Protocol" before and I do not think I have ever watched it before tonight.

I am about forty minutes into it, having stopped to make this note because I think someone might be interested in it.

I find the production is good quality and maybe somewhat budgeted but perhaps that is just an aspect of 1987.

I found Ned Beatty difficult to believe in his portrayal as a general in the Soviet Union but that gets more believable because of the resemblance of the actor Ned Beatty to George Walker Bush.

And that is believable because the known fact is that George Walker Bush and his father George Herbert Walker Bush are known agents of that Soviet Union and communist China that are committed to the destruction of the constitutional government of the United States of America.

George Walker Bush and his father George Herbert Walker Bush have always been communists committed to the destruction of the United States of America constitution.

The Fourth Protocol

:33:04
Yevgeni Sergeivitch how long have
we known each other?

:33:09
Get to the point Pavel Petrovitch.

:33:14
Why are you stripping my department?

:33:19
Why am I what?!

:33:20
Stripping me clean.

:33:23
Everyday something new is taken from me

:33:25
First, the very best agent
we have specialising

:33:28
in Britain Major Valeri Petrofsky.

:33:32
And then, a forged life story
meticulously maintained over the years

:33:38
a legend that fits Valeri Petrofsky
like a glove.

:33:43
Where do you want me to stop?

:33:45
Couriers,

:33:46
their documentations radio men
and then the coding crystals

:33:51
for that sleeper transmitter
you yourself planted when you were head

:33:54
of the KGB in London.

:33:57
What the hell
are you mounting over there?

:34:01
Whose authority has been
on all these transfers?

:34:09
Govorshin!

:34:14
But Comrade, General Chairman Govorshin
knows nothing about Western Europe.

:34:18
That's why I was sure that
you knew of it.

:34:23
Pavel Petrovitch, old friend,
I give you my word.

:34:28
I'm not the one
who's wrecking your department.

:34:30
then what the hell is going on?

:34:34
Yevgeni Sergevitch, I'm sorry.
I thought that you. . .

:34:36
No. No. In your position
I would have thought the same.

:34:43
So, who is advising Govorshin
on England, apart from ourselves?

:34:55
Do you think he's trying
to embarrass you?

:35:02
Maybe remover you?

:35:07
Not as far as I know.

:35:11
No. . . He and I have not had any,
er fireside chats lately.

:35:20
Something's wrong here, Yevgeni.

:35:26
Take care.

:35:29
Take care.

:35:34
I'll look into it.

:35:37
Stay well old friend.

:35:42
and stay silent.

:35:45
By the way, what's the name?

:35:51
What's the name of the legend?

:35:53
The name of the legend?
