"Moondance"

This “Futurama” episode, where "Herme's" wife says something about how she would have stayed married to "Barbados Slim," which I think is humorous, was aired the month after I was at Ironman Coeur d'Alene 2003 and that was after Ironman Utah 2002. I was back in pretty good shape around then and I would have probably been back in even better shape if Microsoft-Corbis hadn't been poisoning my food. I wonder what Barbados means in my artificial and symbolic memories. Probably a great vacation I took with my wife.

Barbados Slim, based off his popularity amongst the staff, was to have a musical episode with him as the focus, but it was not written, as the writers wanted to stick with the crew during the series' final episodes

In the Futurama episode The Luck of the Fryish, Bender refers to the statue of Fry's nephew, Phillip J. Fry, as "This brave Adonis, this Cadillac of men." Also, in the episode Bend Her, Hermes Conrad's wife LaBarbara consoles him on his limboing loss to Barbados Slim, claiming, "If I'd wanted a human Adonis for a husband, I'd have stayed married to Barbados Slim."

From 1/21/1976 to 3/11/2001 is: 9181 days
From 3/3/1959 to 3/11/2001 is: 15349 days
9181 / 15349 = 0.59

"The Luck of the Fryrish" is the 4th episode in season 3 of Futurama. It originally aired in North America on March 11, 2001. Along with "Jurassic Bark", "The Sting", and "Time Keeps on Slippin'", it is considered one of the most emotionally-charged and moving episodes of the series.

...While walking back to the surface access ladder, they happen across a statue that appears to be of Yancy, with the seven-leaf clover in his lapel. Even more disturbing to Fry is the inscription: “Philip J. Fry—First person on Mars”, indicating that Yancy not only stole Fry’s dream, but also his name.

Professor Farnsworth pulls up a biographical movie about “Philip J. Fry,” where the crew learns that after “Yancy” took the clover, he went on to be a millionaire rock star astronaut, and is now buried in Orbiting Meadows National Cemetery with the seven-leaf clover.

Philip J. Fry II (deceased) – Nephew and namesake of Philip J. Fry, Philip J. Fry II owned the seven-leaf clover found by his uncle/great-grandfather in the 1980s. The clover ensured that he was the luckiest man in history. His achievements included a string of top ten hits with his band Leaf 7, a fling with an Icelandic singer-supermodel, and striking oil in the bathroom of the mansion that he won in the lottery. The achievement he’s most famous for, though, is being the first man on Mars. Philip Fry II was named in honor of Fry; based on his accomplishments, his personality seems to be very much like his namesake, however he looks identical to Yancy, his father. This led Fry, finding information about Philip Fry II, to believe Yancy had usurped his identity after he was frozen. Professor Hubert Farnsworth, Fry's great-great-great-...-great-nephew/grandson, is presumably a direct descendant of Philip J. Fry II, since Fry's only sibling was Yancy, and as far as is known Philip J. Fry II was Yancy's only child.

I have such fond memories - or feelings, rather - associated with this song. I can "remember" that it depressed me when I was dating Tracie though, something about those feeling of mediocrity associated with her in my artificial memories. I think that CD was still in the glove compartment of my Jeep last time I saw the Jeep. I wish I could begin to describe how much that song meant to me but I can't even begin to. Must be something very important in my real life.

Van Morrison - Moondance

Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
neath the cover of october skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And Im trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Chorus:
Can I just have one a more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love
Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I cant wait til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that youre never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you cant hide
Chorus
Repeat 1st verse
One more moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Cant I just have one more dance with you my love
