For those weak, little guys such as Hegseth and Trump, *any* laughter they hear is the ultimate insult to them personally.

They know you know what they have known all their life

Is it not in the public interest for you to know what motivates their so-called "leaders"

Probably the source of conflict with General Milley and Trump's rejection of him

The oath for commissioned-officers of the USA is to the Constitution and not the president

Would be in the public interest for the public to know how easy it is for China to manipulate to their will the responses of the USA government

Atlantic Ocean

From Wikipedia

The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest of the world's five oceanic divisions, with an area of about 85,133,000 km2 (32,870,000 sq mi). It covers approximately 17% of Earth's surface and about 24% of its water surface area. During the Age of Discovery, it was known for separating the New World of the Americas (North America and South America) from the Old World of Afro-Eurasia (Africa, Asia, and Europe).

Through its separation of Afro-Eurasia from the Americas, the Atlantic Ocean has played a central role in the development of human society, globalization, and the histories of many nations. While the Norse were the first known humans to cross the Atlantic, it was the expedition of Christopher Columbus in 1492 that proved to be the most consequential. Columbus' expedition ushered in an age of exploration and colonization of the Americas by European powers

Toponymy

The oldest known mentions of an "Atlantic" sea come from Stesichorus around mid-sixth century BC: Atlantikôi pelágei ('the Atlantic sea', etym. 'Sea of Atlas') and in The Histories of Herodotus around 450 BC: Atlantis thalassa ( 'Sea of Atlas' or 'the Atlantic sea') where the name refers to "the sea beyond the pillars of Hercules" which is said to be part of the sea that surrounds all land. In these uses, the name refers to Atlas, the Titan in Greek mythology, who supported the heavens and who later appeared as a frontispiece in medieval maps and also lent his name to modern atlases. On the other hand, to early Greek sailors and in ancient Greek mythological literature such as the Iliad and the Odyssey, this all-encompassing ocean was instead known as Oceanus, the gigantic river that encircled the world; in contrast to the enclosed seas well known to the Greeks: the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. In contrast, the term "Atlantic" originally referred specifically to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and the sea off the Strait of Gibraltar and the West African coast.

The term "Aethiopian Ocean", derived from Ancient Ethiopia, was applied to the southern Atlantic as late as the mid-19th century. During the Age of Discovery, the Atlantic was also known to English cartographers as the Great Western Ocean.

Atlantis

From Wikipedia

Atlantis ('island of Atlas') is a fictional island mentioned in Plato's works Timaeus and Critias as part of an allegory on the hubris of nations. In the story, Atlantis is described as a naval empire that ruled all Western parts of the known world, making it the literary counter-image of the Achaemenid Empire. After an ill-fated attempt to conquer "Ancient Athens," Atlantis falls out of favor with the deities and submerges into the Atlantic Ocean.

I also have these unexplained thoughts that I was a fighter pilot in the U.S. military, although I'm not sure which service, but I may have been in two different branches over time. I am also confused about thoughts that I may have been a helicopter pilot. What's next? A space shuttle pilot? Seems like a lot for someone that is only 40. And, while I am not sure when this divergence happened, I am reasonably certain it was before I turned 33. So I must have been a pretty busy guy. Especially because I have thoughts that I was some kind of mathmetician too. I have these thoughts too that I was captured by enemy forces at some point and tortured while in captivity.

I actually do remember... something... I can t explain it. It feels that I am holding an unmarked, undistinguishable book that I don t know the name of or the contents but I know I have read it already.

A few minutes ago I started thinking that maybe I started at Princeton University in 1972. I would have been 13 at the time as Thomas Ray. I remember that Kerry Burgess started first grade in 1972. But then I decided that I probably started Princeton earlier than 1972 and maybe 1972 was the year I completed my first major degree. Or 1972 doesn t really mean anything in particular to Thomas Ray; rather it is there for continuity sake for the life of Kerry Burgess.

Salesman

Also, "Salesman." I saw that in a dream while sleeping recently. I saw myself going through an induction process in the United States Marine Corps and I woke up understanding that I was dreaming of my actual experience in 1990. I saw a document that indicated I was being inducted to the United States Marine Corps with the officer grade of Chief Warrant Officer 2. I saw in the dream another document associated with my induction and that document indicated I had been assigned the informal name "Salesman."

(from internet transcript)

United States Air Force captain, Doctor Samantha CARTER
Who are the Ancients?

Doctor Daniel Jackson
Well, I think they could be the teachers of roads. See, the Romans were the first real road builders. They spoke Latin and they learned to build roads from the gods, known as the Ancient ones.

CARTER
I'm still not following you.

DANIEL
Roads. Stargates. The Gate builders. What if these Ancients were the alien race who invented the Stargate?

CARTER
You're still just speculating, right?

DANIEL
Well, that would certainly explain why Jack knew about Stargates that the Goa'uld haven't even discovered yet.

CARTER
I don't know, Daniel. Why would they invent a device that would do this?

DANIEL
'The place of our legacy'

DANIEL
Jack, are you reading this?

[He points to the monitor screen.]

O'NEILL
(irritably)
I don't know, you tell me.

DANIEL
Well, I I don't know, I haven't even been able to associate sounds to the symbols. Do you know what this means?

O'NEILL
(rubbing his eyes)
No! I'm just looking at it and the words just pop right into my fron.

[Daniel just stares at him. O'Neill shakes his head wearily.]

O'NEILL
Does anybody think this is odd?

[Daniel, Teal'c and O'Neill exchange glances.]

INT SGC CORRIDOR

[Daniel and Carter are walking. Daniel has a very large, antique-looking book in his arm.]

DANIEL
The language he's speaking has similar sounds to Medieval Latin but it's still quite different.

CARTER
So he's in the infirmary now?

[They enter Daniel's office.]

DANIEL
Yes, but before we took him there, he picked up a chalk and did this in about thirty seconds flat.

[He shows Carter a blackboard full of numbers and unfamiliar symbols.]

DANIEL
Do you have any idea what this means?

[Carter stares at it.]

CARTER
No. I mean, even the simple equations don't make any sense. No, this is like no math I've every seen.

When The New York Times, followed by The Washington Post and other newspapers, published Pentagon Papers-based articles they were exercising freedom of the press that was affirmed in 1971 in The New York Times Company v. United States and in United States v. The Washington Post et. al. The movie, The Post, tells the story of Daniel Ellsberg, the leak of thousands of pages of Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Task Force, and Katharine Graham s decision to publish articles based in them.

Why Would the Government Try to Suppress the Press?

Journalism, U.S. Government, U.S. History

In 1971 freedom of the press was challenged when the Nixon administration filed an injunction against The New York Times Co. to stop any further publication from or about a report commissioned by Defense Secretary Robert McNamara in 1967.

Introduce students to the 1971 Supreme Court case New York Times Company v. United States. This case was heard together with United States v. The Washington Post et. al. On June 18, 1971, the Washington Post began publishing its own series of articles based on the Pentagon Papers. That same day, the attorney general's office asked the paper to cease publication. The Post refused, and legal maneuvers over restraining further publication of the Pentagon Papers then came in a rush.

On June 21, Judge Gerhard Gesell ruled in favor of the Post; on June 24 the U.S. District Court of Appeals ruled 7-2 in the Post's favor. On June 30, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that the government had not met "the heavy burden of showing justification" for further restraint. The newspapers-both the Post and the New York Times-were thereby free to publish. Graham later wrote that the Post regarded the publication not as a breach of national security, as the Nixon administration had argued, but "as a contribution to the national interest-indeed as the obligation of a responsible newspaper."

Stargate (1994)

(from internet transcript, extended version DVD)

[One screen shows video from the probe. It's pictures of a room, and another Stargate. West and O'Neil stand with several others analyzing the data.]

WEST
This is the information the probe sent back to us. Freeze and enhance. You can clearly see the 'gate on the other side. Both 'gates must have functioned as a doorway between our worlds.

JOHNSON
These readings tell us it's an atmospheric match. Barometric pressure, temperature, and most importantly, oxygen.

[One computer monitor shows reading results of "Life Support Possible." Daniel is looking at another screen showing close ups of the chevrons on the other Stargate.]

DANIEL
These markings are different. They don't match the symbols on our 'gate.

WEST
That's why we may have to abort. This project is for naught without a reconnaissance mission.

JOHNSON
Once on the other side, we'd have to decipher the markings on their 'gate, and in essence dial home in order to bring the team back.

WEST
Based on this new information, I don't see how we can do that.

DANIEL
Well, I can do that.

[Johnson, West and O'Neil look at Daniel.]

WEST
Are you sure?

[Daniel looks back over at the unique Chevrons.]

DANIEL
Positive.

[O'Neil looks around at the others, then walks out.]

O'NEIL
(muttering to West as he passes)
He's full of shit.

WEST
(to Daniel)
You're on the team.
