Still no idea whether that mainstream-media drama in recent days about 08/08/2000, as I recently blog-posted about, is real or complete fabrication. Details make me think the latter.
Complement of that notion would be the presence tonight of Blaze Star, an event predicted unsuccessfully by NASA and others since last year and before. I decided today to take a closer look at it.
Not sure if I could actually observe it with my gear from my apartment patio. Too much light-pollution from Spokane metro
Looking at the maps, though, I have possibly a clear view of the night-sky where it's located, if not for clouds in the sky
Checking later tonight to try to image the constellation Corona Borealis.
See, the reason I find this so interesting is because of my discovery last year of "Dark Matter", the streaming-video series fiction on AppleTV+
In the fictional "Dark Matter" universe I conjure for myself, there is no real Universe out there
It is just an elaborate illusion
I have pieced together this notion from mainstream-media articles I have read that refer to actual, real science, which none of us have the skills nor education to dispute or accept as truth
So, I imagine to myself, in my galactic-ignorance, that there is no actual Universe out there, that we see in the night-sky
Since none of us will ever, in a million billion years ever travel even beyond this solar-system, we can never prove there actually exists a Universe
Scientists see it and measure it and tell us about it. They can never actually prove it exists physically precisely as we see it, as its light reaches us thousands and millions of year later
As for "Dark Matter", a new instance of a bubble-Universe does not have to actually create an entire Universe. The primitive human monkey brain - which is all of you - cannot comprehend anything so vast

The most entertaining development would be to discover the flare occurs during the local Spokane time of 9:00 PM to 11:59 PM
That would demonstrate a variation in my original-work code-pattern I have been calling a "bounce"
When NASA events happen on the east-coast between 9:00 PM to 11:59 PM of Spokane time then the Event Date variable of my original-work code-pattern becomes - possibly - two, different calendar-days.
I don't track how many times I have examined such events but I tend now to think of it typically being an observation I make of NASA activities. I have to look back at it for certain but I think Artemis I was one of those observations I made that I call a "bounce".
We are now in that range of possibility and I discovered an entertaining occurrence of my "bounce".
Would be disappointing if the flare has already happened tonight. There's a cloud bank in the sky that is about the region of I sky I estimate that T Coronae Borealis is located
From what I have read, the flare will brighten it to about the magnitude of Polaris
So my only hope of recording any sort of pseudo-proof for me is to capture images that clearly show nothing in the area where it will become a brighter star after the flare. I am not even certain if it is directly visible right now with my gear, a digital-camera with a couple of different lenses I am using. One is a zoom lens with a higher F-stop and the other is non-zoom with F1.8 capability and a wide visibility.
This note will be published after midnight unless I see anything interesting and probably still will be published sometime tomorrow.

Midnight rolled around and as of now, have not seen anything on the internet about the star nova
Decided to wrap up this note and post it
If it were to happen later today, before midnight, then there is still a valid notion to this experiment
I am fairly certain I captured a good image of the area of the sky where the nova will become visible
That happened on 03/28/2025.
Perhaps the nova will become visible today, 03/29/2025
If not, then this note simply demonstrates what could have been
Why this matters
Long time ago, tried something similar with a flare-up of Comet Holmes. I captured no proof of my own about that, if it was even an event interesting to me, which I don't recall without going back to look it up. Wouldn't matter really, in the context of 08/08/2000 (completely unrelated as an event, mentioned by me only because of the notion that should be obvious by now), because I did not see for myself any sort of proof in the sky

FORREST: When Zefram Cochrane made his legendary warp flight ninety years ago, and drew the attention of our new friends, the Vulcans. We realised that we weren't alone in the galaxy. Today we're about to cross a new threshold. For nearly a century, we've waded ankle-deep in the ocean of space. Now it's finally time to swim. (applause) The warp five engine wouldn't be a reality without men like Doctor Cochrane and Henry Archer, who worked so hard to develop it. So it's only fitting that Henry's son, Jonathan Archer, will command the first starship powered by that engine. (applause as Archer and senior officers leave) Rather than quoting Doctor Cochrane, I think we should listen to his own words from the dedication ceremony for the Warp Five Complex thirty two years ago.
COCHRANE [on screen] On this site, a powerful engine will be built. An engine that will someday help us travel a hundred times faster than we can today. (as the officers take their bridge stations) Imagine it. Thousands of inhabited planets at our fingertips. And we'll be able to explore those strange new worlds and seek out new life and new civilizations. This engine will let us go boldly where no man has gone before.

Identification (literature)
From Wikipedia
Identification refers to the automatic, subconscious psychological process in which an individual becomes like or closely associates themselves with another person by adopting one or more of the others' perceived personality traits, physical attributes, or some other aspect of their identity. The concept of identification was founded by psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud in the 1920’s, and has since been expanded on and applied in psychology, social studies, media studies, and literary and film criticism. In literature, identification most often refers to the audience identifying with a fictional character, however it can also be employed as a narrative device whereby one character identifies with another character within the text itself.

Will the Blaze Star explode on March 27, 2025?
Posted by Chris Harvey
March 27, 2025
Will the Blaze Star finally explode on March 27, 2025? Or maybe it’s November 10, 2025? Or perhaps after that … Those are the predictions of Jean Schneider of the Paris Observatory, published in the Research Notes of the American Astronomical Society in October 2024.
Schneider came to his possible dates using a combination of the previous eruption dates and the orbital ephemeris of the binary system. While Schneider admits in his paper that no one can exactly predict the eruption, he is trying to predict eruption dates with a precision of a week or two. Will his predictions hold up? The only way to know for sure is to go out and observe Corona Borealis to see if a “new” star appears!
Waiting for the Blaze Star to go nova
Have you ever heard of the Blaze Star? It’s a star in the constellation Corona Borealis the Northern Crown, that was supposed to go nova last year. Well, we’re still waiting. But when it finally does erupt, it’ll be a once-in-a-lifetime show in our night sky.
The eagerly awaited Blaze Star nova is a real opportunity for keen night sky observers to witness a “new star” in the sky … but only for a few days before it fades away again. Here’s more about why we’re still waiting on the Blaze Star. And about how you can see when it does finally erupt as a nova.
Why hasn’t it happened yet?
Predicting eruptions of stars is not an exact science. The Blaze Star (T Coronae Borealis) underwent two known eruptions recorded by astronomers. Those events were on May 12, 1866, and on February 9, 1946. Those eruptions were 80 years apart. So scientists thought that, in another 80 years, the star would erupt again. So, 80 years from 1946 would be 2026. Which raises the question: Why did astronomers think the eruption would happen in 2024?
Well, the star brightened and dimmed before its last eruption in 1946. And it has been brightening and dimming now as well, leading some to think the nova would happen sooner rather than later. But it appears as if later is more likely. And so we wait …

Quotes
Harry Stamper: What's your contingency plan?
Truman: Contingency plan?
Harry Stamper: Your backup plan. You gotta have some kind of backup plan, right?
Truman: No, we don't have a back up plan. This is it.
Harry Stamper: And this is the best that you c - that the-the government, the *U.S. government* can come up with? I mean, you-you're NASA for cryin' out loud, you put a man on the moon, you're geniuses! You-you're the guys that think this shit up! I'm sure you got a team of men sitting around somewhere right now just thinking shit up and somebody backing them up!
