Was 3/15/1998 the last day I spent with my wife as her husband, Thomas Ray? I used a similar method to arrive at that date as I did with 6/28/1998. The date 6/28/1998 is when I think I woke up, similar to the first episode of “Quantum Leap” that I read about recently, but cannot actually remember watching, with this new identity.
It could be that 3/14/1998 was our last day together and 3/15/1998 was the day I said goodbye to her, until we meet again, as I went to the facility where I would undergo the medical procedure to consciously suppress my memories and replace them with artificial and symbolic memories.

Sigmund Freud
From Wikipedia
Sigmund Freud (born Sigismund Schlomo Freud; 6 May 1856 – 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for evaluating and treating pathologies arising from conflicts in the psyche through dialogue between patient and psychoanalyst, and the distinctive theory of mind and human agency derived from it.
Death
By mid-September 1939, Freud's cancer of the jaw was causing him increasingly severe pain and had been declared inoperable. The last book he read, Balzac's La Peau de chagrin, prompted reflections on his own increasing frailty. A few days later, he turned to his doctor, friend, and fellow refugee, Max Schur, reminding him that they had previously discussed the terminal stages of his illness: "Schur, you remember our 'contract' not to leave me in the lurch when the time had come. Now it is nothing but torture and makes no sense." When Schur replied that he had not forgotten, Freud said, "I thank you," and then, "Talk it over with Anna, and if she thinks it's right, then make an end of it." Anna Freud wanted to postpone her father's death, but Schur convinced her it was pointless to keep him alive; on 21 and 22 September, he administered doses of morphine that resulted in Freud's death at around 3 a.m. on 23 September 1939. However, discrepancies in the accounts Schur gave of his role in Freud's final hours led to inconsistencies between Freud's main biographers. A revised account proposes that Schur was absent from Freud's deathbed when a third and final dose of morphine was administered by Dr. Josephine Stross, a colleague of Anna Freud, leading to Freud's death at around midnight on 23 September 1939.

"Riverworld" is a very lame production but it explores some neat concepts.
Doesn't help any of us living now.
Those people are not the same people who died.
They're copies.
How many chemical molecules in your physical human brain would have to be copied to trick you

EMH: Starfleet certainly took their time finding us.
KIM: Starfleet. Starfleet gave up their search for Voyager over nine years ago. We had to find you on our own.
EMH: Well, I don't know what to say except thank you. I suppose I'd have stayed in that deep freeze forever.
CHAKOTAY: We're not here to salvage your programme. We're here to prevent this disaster from ever happening.
KIM: You see Doc, fifteen years ago, I miscalculated the Slipstream threshold and transmitted the wrong phase corrections to Voyager. Boom! They were knocked out of the Slipstream and sent to an icy death. Thank you, Ensign Kim. But I've had a long time to rethink my mistake, and now I know how to fix it. So, we're going to send Voyager a new set of phase corrections.
EMH: Isn't it a little late for that?
CHAKOTAY: We've found a way to communicate with Voyager, in the past, just before the accident.
KIM: Better late than never.
EMH: A message back through time?
CHAKOTAY: Exactly.
