Is the independence of Ukraine really even worth it?
I mean, what does Ukraine do?
Sure, those ditzy bubbleheads on tv always want to cheer on the underdog. (I have a memory of our division-officer Lieutenant during a port visit to county of Spain in the 1980s telling us to not cheer on the bull at the bullfights arena because that angered the locals)
But the expense of human life just seems so ridiculous
People from Texas are blustering blowhards with ridiculous hats and overinflated sense of importance
If Texas seceded from the USA, all that would happen is they would get a tremendous amount of their people killed and a lot of other people killed
And for nothing.
Texas would never be successful in seceding from the USA
Ukraine is historically Russia, as I understand it
In the 1990s, Russia didn't openly kill thousands - hundreds of thousands of people - because Czechoslovakia dropped out of communism
From what I've read, Ukraine is poor and corrupt
What possible value could they have to NATO other than to agitate Russia
All that war seems to be accomplishing is to chew up people, pointlessly
Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed - so far - and for what?
I cannot ever imagine Russia being stupid enough to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine
So there's no end in sight
Would long-range missiles cause Russia to capitulate?
If Moscow started getting blitzed by Britain's Storm Shadow long-range missiles, would that even cause Russia pause?
No way hell Russia is going to ever nuke Britain. They're not suicidal enough.
