The Blue Astro-Angel On Trial
For one thing, that suddenly became a detail with sudden clarity in my mind, yesterday, is that I do not *have* to work on finding *every* one of these topics out there in the world.
There's too many.
That was the point.
*Somebody* decided to create as much content as possible for me personally to find.
Because if there was not *too much* then I might not find very much.
Instead, I find this pattern every place I turn. Had to be that way.
Whatever process it is that is creating the code pattern is now *out of control*. I doubt I could ever exhaust my sources of content for this blog.
The content I've created thus far *should* have been enough.
And yet, none of this content brought me back.
I'm really no different than 10 years ago. Mentally. Physically, I'm a hell of a lot worse.

70,000 Tons of Battleship Terror: How the Biggest Battleship Ever Committed Suicide
The Japanese Yamato had well-earned esteem.
by Kyle Mizokami
The decision sealed the fate of the battleship Yamato and its crew
It and its sister, Musashi
The destruction of Yamato was inevitable even as far back as the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was clear that the age of the aircraft carrier had already superseded the battleship, but the insistence of battleship-minded general officers to cling to obsolete military technology undermined Japan’s conduct of the war and sent thousands of Japanese sailors needlessly to their deaths. The story of the Yamato is a warning to all armed forces that the march of war technology is merciless and unsentimental.

Yamato ("Great Harmony") was the lead ship of her class of battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) shortly before World War II. She and her sister ship, Musashi, were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever constructed

CARTER
What are you smiling at?
O'NEILL
(still smiling)
Nothing.
[Daniel is standing at the front of the table in front of the computer display of the images from P4X 639. He is reading some notes. Hammond sits at the table reading the briefing papers.]
HAMMOND
What have you got for us, Dr Jackson?
DANIEL
Err…with the help of Teal'c and…
(He points at O'Neill and raises his eyebrows)
…Jack, I've managed to complete the translation.
[O'Neill and Teal'c look up.]
DANIEL
As I originally suspected, P4X 639 was once a colony of the Ancients. They thrived there for thousands of years, until they were struck by some sort of unspecified cataclysm, perhaps a disease, but we'll never really know for sure. In any case, facing certain destruction, they built a time machine.
O'NEILL
They were going to go back and change their history, to avoid their fate.
DANIEL
Right, but it didn't work. Instead of sending a team of scientists back to the key moment in their history, the device caused a short term continuous loop. Just like the one we've been experiencing. They experienced the same day dozens, perhaps hundreds, of times, trying to get the machine to work, but in the end they gave up, they shut it down and…let the end come.
