Sophons

See also: String theory

Sophons are created from eleven-dimensional protons dimensionally unfolded down to two-dimensional protons with Trisolaran particle accelerators. While in the two-dimensional form, they are embedded with circuitry to create a supercomputer. Once online, the embedded supercomputer could control the proton's dimensional level and could fold itself back into an eleven-dimensional proton. To be seen with the naked eye, the protons could unfold themselves down to a fourth-, fifth-, or sixth-dimensional form, becoming larger with each subsequent lower dimension without changing mass. They can visually record anything and thus their secondary purpose is to act as surveillance devices, beaming the information they gather back to another sophon instantaneously via quantum entanglement. Their primary purpose for their Trisolaran manufacturers is to disrupt Earth's particle accelerators, capable of straying into the paths of fired particles and scrambling the results of experiments before re-assembling, effectively blocking advancement of the science. Since they can move through three-dimensional space at the speed of light, a single sophon is capable of disrupting all of Earth's particle accelerators.

Multiverse

From Wikipedia

The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of possible universes, including the universe in which we live. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them.

The various universes within the multiverse are called "parallel universes", "other universes", or "alternative universes".

Origin of the concept

In Dublin in 1952, Erwin Schrödinger gave a lecture in which he jocularly warned his audience that what he was about to say might "seem lunatic". He said that, when his Nobel equations seemed to describe several different histories, these were "not alternatives, but all really happen simultaneously". This is the earliest known reference to the multiverse outside of fiction.

Parallel universe (fiction)

From Wikipedia

Science fiction

While technically incorrect, and looked down upon by hard science-fiction fans and authors, the idea of another "dimension" has become synonymous with the term "parallel universe". The usage is particularly common in movies, television and comic books and much less so in modern prose science fiction. The idea of a parallel world was first introduced in comic books with the publication of The Flash #123, "Flash of Two Worlds".[citation needed]

In written science fiction, "new dimensions" more commonly – and more accurately – refer to additional coordinate axes, beyond the three spatial axes with which we are familiar. By proposing travel along these extra axes, which are not normally perceptible, the traveler can reach worlds that are otherwise unreachable and invisible.

Television series involving parallel universes

Charlie Jade, in which the titular character is accidentally thrown into our universe and is looking for a way back to his own.

Somewhere in my posts, I wrote about my thoughts on this topic, popular in science-fiction

My dissertation being that the Many Worlds Theory is just a big crock of shit

The basis of that theory, I've speculated, is ignoring that electrons *have* predictability

My guess is that someone reverse-engineered that notion that the states of electrons can NEVER be determined

Therefore, everything is uncertain

And since everything is uncertain then everything is possible

I think that the invention of Many Worlds Theory based on that viewpoint is dim-witted

There is only ONE reason that the states of electrons cannot be determined: the primitive technology of the human-race

My assertion is that anything that tries to measure the state of electrons would have to shoot more electrons at the target electron, thus changing it

So, out there somewhere in the vast Universe, with it bazillions of possibilities for life vastly more intelligent than human will be ever, there may be technology that can measure accurately and unobtrusively the state of electrons.

Predictable eliminates uncertainty.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN

The Many Worlds of Hugh Everett

After his now celebrated theory of multiple universes met scorn, Hugh Everett abandoned the world of academic physics. He turned to top secret military research and led a tragic private life

By Peter Byrne on October 21, 2008

Everett’s scientific journey began one night in 1954, he recounted two decades later, “after a slosh or two of sherry.” He and his Princeton classmate Charles Misner and a visitor named Aage Petersen (then an assistant to Niels Bohr) were thinking up “ridiculous things about the implications of quantum mechanics.” During this session Everett had the basic idea behind the many-worlds theory, and in the weeks that followed he began developing it into a dissertation.

The core of the idea was to interpret what the equations of quantum mechanics represent in the real world by having the mathematics of the theory itself show the way instead of by appending interpretational hypotheses to the math. In this way, the young man challenged the physics establishment of the day to reconsider its foundational notion of what constitutes physical reality.

In pursuing this endeavor, Everett boldly tackled the notorious measurement problem in quantum mechanics, which had bedeviled physicists since the 1920s. In a nutshell, the problem arises from a contradiction between how elementary particles (such as electrons and photons) interact at the microscopic, quantum level of reality and what happens when the particles are measured from the macroscopic, classical level. In the quantum world, an elementary particle, or a collection of such particles, can exist in a superposition of two or more possible states of being. An electron, for example, can be in a superposition of different locations, velocities and orientations of its spin. Yet anytime scientists measure one of these properties with precision, they see a definite result—just one of the elements of the superposition, not a combination of them. Nor do we ever see macroscopic objects in superpositions. The measurement problem boils down to this question: How and why does the unique world of our experience emerge from the multiplicities of alternatives available in the superposed quantum world?

Physicists use mathematical entities called wave functions to represent quantum states. A wave function can be thought of as a list of all the possible configurations of a superposed quantum system, along with numbers that give the probability of each configuration’s being the one, seemingly selected at random, that we will detect if we measure the system. The wave function treats each element of the superposition as equally real, if not necessarily equally probable from our point of view.

From my research, most of that Multiple Universe nonsense, common in popular science-fiction, started with some comments by some guy in Physics, at Princeton University, wasn't it?

My guess is that spawned out of the fact that the precise location of electrons can never be determined. Because, with modern human technology, you would have to shoot more electrons at that electron to track it and thus, you just changed it.

So, the fact is: electrons ALWAYS have a precise location. Is just that humans have no way of knowing those precise details

So some guy at Princeton - drunk, perhaps - extrapolated the notion into a wacky, convoluted idea that multiple-universes exist

Since electrons can't be tracked then ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, according to that wacky physics graduate. But the reality is: Anything is not possible, when extrapolating with the unknown-electrons idea

by me, Kerry Burgess, 12/04/2023 06:30 AM

Thinking about that reminds me again of my guess about how "parallel universes" became a popular topic in sc-fi

I've written before about my completly uninformed thoughts on the topic

My * guess * being that it's because the position of the electron is unknowable with the state of human science

That makes is a variable

And since a scientist never knows "how much" then any math calculations in any sort of quantum physics is always going to be a guess

My guess is that math was used that featured varibles about the states of electrons and they got some wacky results which they assumed meant there are multiple universes

Would that still happen if the state of the electron became non-variable?

I'm thinking about this again for several reasons

One reason, people seem to be going to a lot of trouble to get my attention

And it's not because so I will contact them directly

Commercialism is involved but is not, I am thinking, the ultimate objective, for my part, of those behind the operations I am detecting.

Another reason is this overall situation.

Certainly, planning and coordination is obvious.

How did I get here, where am I going

There is a reason to all this and I labor under the assumption that I am supposed to find *something*

Something grand.

Something that makes it all worth it.

So, systemized in my thinking because, notably, of "Stargate" I am drawing lines on boards

I don't know who reads my posts but I am guessing you are like me in my perception of time.

None of this especially insightful. Nothing especially enlightened. Perhaps not even all that intelligent. Is mostly just elemental

If you're like me, then you see 'time' as always flowing forward

We have clocks that tell us that fact

The cavemen of ancient Earth began to suspect time existed because of the Sun

Wild animals adjust to time because of night and day and the challenges it causes for them

When I think of 'time' I will imagine a two-dimensional graph on a page of paper

A 2-d graph has two lines

Up and down is 'y'

Left to right is 'x'

You can imagine a 'z' line if you imagine that you are looking directly at it, that it is parallel to your vision

The x-axis and y-axis consist of 90-degree angles, or right angles. Same with the imagined z-axis of a 2-d graph

In this illustration by me, those 3 dimensions - 'x' , 'y' , 'z' - are clearly present:

DSC09229 .jpg, by me, Kerry Burgess, 12/04/2023

So, we don't have any trouble imagining a three-dimension reality because we see it everywhere we look

So what is that 4th-dimension one hears about all the time in science-fiction?

To me, it represents the flow of time

A 3-d object and it's position in *time* can be plotted on a 2-d graph:

time-plot-01 .jpg, by me, Kerry Burgess

The concept of 'now' could be plotted at the point where the two lines intersect

This is the point of now

Graduation lines could represent anything ; 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 century, anything measuring time

My illustration DSC09229 happened during 'now'

movie01_0356 .jpg, from internet. Stargate (1994)

When I captured that image, it could be plotted on that graph at the point where the lines intersect. That is 'now'

That is not true now, though, because 'now' is the same place on the graph plot but my capture of that image is not 'now'

stargate 00_20_15_PDVD .jpg, Stargate (1994)

It is the past so it has actually moved into the past. It would be plotted to the left of the intersection. That is the section of the line measuring negative values. And that is the 'past'. The past is negative values on the plot.

Now, most importantly, that object in my illustration DSC09229 is still in that same exact position where I originally captured it as an image

So it's presence has traveled through time!

It has arrived at 'now' without ever moving from its position where I left it

movie01_0363 .jpg, Stargate (1994)

What I want to illustrate here is the notion of the flow of time

That object of my illustration is still in the same exact position but at different points plotted on the x-axis of my graph illustration

This represents, to me, the flow of time, as I perceive it with my senses

I thought through this because I have wondered about that statement from that Wikipedia page about the 5th-dimension and I have never really tried to understand that concept.

Did I understand these things before May 10, 2006?

There must be a lot I understood then and that I do not now.

That has led me to believe that whatever I am destined to discover does not require any special technical knowledge or anything from a very high level of education

I am simply tossing this all out into the wild of the internet because something that causes me to gain new, special insight sometimes happens as a result of my effort here.

As it is now, I am thinking I might understand the concept of a 5th dimension.

That is what I am thinking could be plotted on the y-axis of my simple graph

First though, more about my thinking of the 4th-dimension and of plotting the passage of time

This is an illustration I am using to represent 'now':

movie01_0363_illustration-01 .jpg, illustration by me, Kerry Burgess, from Stargate (1994)

This represents to me, an object at any given time. It is a point in space, anywhere. It is what I think we all tend to think of as "the third dimension"

Now, this represents a 4th-dimension, the presence of the passage of time. I think of this as something that exists in "the fourth dimension":

movie01_0363_illustration-02 .jpg, illustration by me, Kerry Burgess, from Stargate (1994)

Everything is in motion, I am dimly aware of from my amateur interest in Physics

We can't see many things moving because of something about the relativity of observation

The entire Universe is moving but we see virtually none of it

When I try to imagine a 5th-dimension, I think of the y-axis on my simple plot

I am guessing that is what could be the so-called "parallel universes"

As a positive value is plotted on the y-axis, it represents the same thing happening in a "parallel universe"

This causes me to wonder about the z-axis. And to guess that could be some sort of 6th-dimension

What that would be, I have no idea.

Maybe it's the notion of branching-realities

The notion from "The Peripheral" about "stubs" is begging for attention in my conscious mind and reminding me to not forget about that concept

I don't know why any of what I am describing in my observations about the stuff other people are doing in their baffling behavior that continues to support my allegations

I *want* to guess that I am going to discover something that makes it all worth it

A mirror-universe - possibly created as a branching reality from this reality - where I can find what I want

It's a notion established in my hypothetical Epoch 4 so that gives it some weight for me here now in my (theoretical) Epoch 5

If we could just figure out a better way to travel to orbit without these silly rocket boosters, we would be well on our way to exploring more of the solar system and other solar systems. There has got to be a cheap and safe way to cheat gravity. Sometimes I think I know how to do it, but I just can't remember.

Chapter 1: Holden

[first lines]

A hundred and fifty years before, when the parochial disagreements between Earth and Mars had been on the verge of war, the Belt had been a far horizon of tremendous mineral wealth beyond viable economic reach, and the outer planets had been beyond even the most unrealistic corporate dream. Then Solomon Epstein had built his little modified fusion drive, popped it on the back of his three-man yacht, and turned it on. With a good scope, you could still see his ship going at a marginal percentage of the speed of light, heading out into the big empty. The best, longest funeral in the history of mankind. Fortunately, he'd left his plans on his home computer. The Epstein Drive hadn't given humanity the stars, but it had delivered the planets.

Overflow Audience Hears Wheeler Give Lecture On 'The Nature Of Time'

By CHRIS JONES

Physics professor John A. Wheeler set forth several aspects of "The Nature of Time" last night to an audience that overflowed onto the window sills and balcony staircases of McCosh 10 to hear the first of the professor's Witherspoon Lectures, "The Compass of Eternity."

Winner of the Einstein Medal for physics, Prof. Wheeler began the first of the UGC-sponsored lectures by discussing man's efforts at measuring time and concluded it by postulating a situation in which "time ends."

Man, Prof. Wheeler stated, has proceeded on the assumption, formally expressed by the 19th century physicist, Sir Isaac Newton, that "time flows equally." Prof. Wheeler then went into the relativity of time, comparing it to "a great chart which indicates all past, present and future time and on which we are chugging along, exploring, while someone else may be examining it at a different place and at a different rate. "We and the other person see time differently, yet each of our views is correct for the observer."
