"Shift4"
Now, that's just dumb.
The typical, lameoid crap you would expect to hear from a lottery-winner, such as that guy or Elon Musk or Bill Gates and the others, such Bill Clinton and those other clowns
Uninspired, unimaginative, just lameoid.
He is obviously just a front-man for someone else, someone with the money to pay him and Elon Musk to be their clown, to entertain and distract the gullible, naive masses
The whole thing is probably being faked, not really happening as presented

Made the mistake of turning on the tv just before the solar-eclipse began over the middle of the USA. I was expecting the local live-tv news broadcast. A predicted 27% coverage here in the northwest and I didn't notice anything but wasn't examining it very closely
Instead, I had to listen to that ditzy bubblehead Norah and some even ditzier bubblehead guy from the CBS national morning news that I never watch
They must have him on there because he seems pervy
Their broadcast target audience is mostly women, I guess, so those pervy guys aren't threatening to that audience ("housewife" , polluter , breeder , poop-scoopers) of other bubbleheads
I had to mute it when I realized they would broadcast through noon. Only way that could have been worse is if it had been Katie Couric.
Then actor William Shatner and recent Jeff Bezos Wastefulnaut appears on the screen.

"It gives us a very unique opportunity to test these vehicles in such a very unique environment," said Emmanuel Urquieta, vice chair for aerospace medicine at the University of Central Florida's internal medicine department.
While astronaut safety on NASA missions is rigorously overseen by the agency, there are no such U.S. standards or laws for spaceflight safety in private missions like Polaris.

The American Presidency Project
Ronald Reagan
40th President of the United States: 1981 ‐ 1989
Proclamation 5013 - National Inventors' Day, 1983
January 12, 1983
By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation
Almost two hundred years ago, President George Washington recognized that invention and innovation were fundamental to the welfare and strength of the United States. He successfully urged the First Congress to enact a patent statute as expressly authorized by the U.S. Constitution and wisely advised that "there is nothing which can better deserve your patronage than the promotion of science . . ." In 1790, the first patent statute initiated the transformation of the United States from an importer of technology to a world leader in technological innovation.
Today, just as in George Washington's day, inventors are the keystone of the technological progress that is so vital to the economic, environmental, and social well-being of this country. Individual ingenuity and perseverance, spurred by the incentives of the patent system, begin the process that results in improved standards of living, increased public and private productivity, creation of new industries, improved public services, and enhanced competitiveness of American products in world markets.
In recognition of the enormous contribution inventors make to the nation and the world, the Congress, pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 140 (Public Law 97-198), has designated February 11, 1983, the anniversary of the birth of Thomas Alva Edison, one of America's most famous and prolific inventors, as National Inventors' Day. Such recognition is especially appropriate at a time when our country is striving to maintain its global position as a leader in innovation and technology. Key to our future success will be the dedication and creativity of inventors.
Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim February 11, 1983, as National Inventors' Day and call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 12th day of Jan., in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty three, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and seventh.
Signature of Ronald Reagan

GALILEO MAKES CLOSE PASS BY CALLISTO
For the first time, NASA's Galileo spacecraft flew close to Jupiter's moon Callisto this morning (Nov. 4), passing within 1,104 kilometers (686 miles) of the stark, crater-studded natural satellite at 13:34 Universal Time (5:34 a.m. Pacific Standard Time).
The flyby was by far the closest any spacecraft has ever come to Callisto, the outermost of the four big moons orbiting Jupiter

Remarks at a White House Luncheon Honoring the Astronauts of the Space Shuttle Columbia
May 19, 1981
The President. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. And before we say anything at all or I make any remarks because there are many here who probably don't know that in addition to the men we're honoring today, that there are in our midst, as a great part of this audience, many who have been those pioneers out into space, our astronauts going back to the very beginning of the program. Could I ask that all of you who fit that description, all of you, to please stand up?
Well, we're in very distinguished company, believe me. Commander Young and Captain Crippen, all the world held its breath in the silent moments of your reentry, and when we finally heard your voices again, all the world knew America had begun a new age.

Episode Summary
When their shuttle is diverted to a planetoid, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy encounter Earth's Warp Drive pioneer, Zefram Cochrane, who appears to have survived there alone for 150 years.

(From the doorway, the three see a swirly thing which then disappears. Cochrane comes in with a tray of drinks.)
KIRK: What was that?
COCHRANE: Well, sometimes the light plays tricks on you. You'd be surprised what I've imagined I've seen around here sometimes.

KIRK: How do you do it?
COCHRANE: I just sort of clear my mind and it comes.
(He walks to the edge of the garden then stands with his eyes closed. The Companion appears, then moves to envelope him.)
KIRK: Bones, what do you make of that?
MCCOY: Almost a symbiosis of some kind, a sort of joining.
KIRK: Exactly what I think. Not exactly like a pet owner speaking to a beloved animal, would you say?
MCCOY: No, it's more than that.
KIRK: Agreed. More like love.
(The Companion vanishes, so Kirk and McCoy go over to Cochrane.)
MCCOY: Are you all right?
COCHRANE: Yes. It kind of drains me a little, but I'm all right.

COCHRANE: Captain, why did you build that translator with a feminine voice?
KIRK: We didn't.
COCHRANE: But I heard
KIRK: The idea of male and female are universal constants, Cochrane. There's no doubt about it. The Companion is female.
COCHRANE: I don't understand.
MCCOY: You don't? A blind man could see it with a cane. You're not a pet. You're not a specimen kept in a cage. You're a lover.
COCHRANE: I'm a what?
SPOCK: Her attitude when she approaches you is profoundly different than when she contacts us. Her appearance is soft, gentle. Her voice is melodic, pleasing. I do not totally understand the emotion, but it obviously exists. The Companion loves you.
COCHRANE: Do you know what you're saying? For all these years, I've let something as alien as that crawl around inside me, into my mind, my feelings.
KIRK: What are you complaining about? It kept you alive.
COCHRANE: That thing fed on me. It used me. It's disgusting.
MCCOY: There's nothing disgusting about it. It's just another life form, that's all. You get used to those things.
COCHRANE: You're as bad as it is.
SPOCK: Your highly emotional reaction is most illogical. Your relationship with the Companion has for one hundred and fifty years been emotionally satisfying, eminently practical, and totally harmless. It may indeed have been quite beneficial.
COCHRANE: Is this what the future holds? Men who have no notion of decency or morality? Maybe I'm a hundred and fifty years out of style, but I'm not going to be fodder for any inhuman monster. (leaves)
SPOCK: Fascinating. A totally parochial attitude.
NANCY: Doctor. Doctor.
MCCOY: Right here, Miss Hedford.
NANCY: I heard him. He was loved and he resents it.
MCCOY: You just rest.
NANCY Hedford, Federation Commissioner: No. I don't want to die. I've been good at my job, but I've never been loved. Never. What kind of life is that? Not to be loved, never to have shown love? And he runs away from love. (cries)
