This is the photo I found on the internet a few years ago. Must be mistakenly captioned as Phoebe Gates standing there with Melinda Gates. I can only guess that's actually Jennifer Gates.
Today I was somewhat surprised at the appearance of Phoebe Gates.
She is definitely not my biological off-spring.
I have good reason to suspect trickery is involved.

The 11th-floor New York Avenue law offices with a strategic view of Washington's majestic landmarks are a fair distance from the one-stoplight town of Lonoke, Ark. But these days there is little about Lonoke's most famous native daughter that is not known in the polished suites of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Piece by piece, President Clinton's top-dollar legal team has taken apart the life of Paula Jones, examining topics from her job history to her possible sex partners. They turned up a check she bounced when reimbursing the Arkansas government for personal calls made on state phones. They found previous employers who fired her for tardiness or other reasons. They scoured personnel records and discovered she typed only 24 words per minute and scored 121 out of 174 on an Arkansas state clerical examination.
Venturing into more salacious territory, they interviewed as many as a half-dozen men who claimed to have had sex with her, including some who said they met her casually at parties or bars and then engaged in quick encounters, according to people close to the case. One former boss signed an affidavit alleging that she pursued him at work and that they slept together. After their short-lived relationship ended, he fired her -- in part, he said, because she dressed too provocatively.
Now that the lawyers essentially have finished gathering evidence and made the final pretrial effort to get Jones's sexual harassment lawsuit thrown out, a picture has emerged of who the president's defense team is and where it is headed. Led by veterans of past high-profile political cases, the Clinton legal squad is following an aggressive and political risky strategy centered on Jones herself. After all the attention focused on a president linked by fact or rumor to a host of women -- most recently and most perilously Monica S. Lewinsky -- Clinton's lawyers hope to turn the spotlight with blinding intensity on the life of his most persistent accuser.
"Does her story make sense? It's always been our position to point out why it doesn't make sense," said Mitchell S. Ettinger, a Clinton attorney. "No one's going to argue they weren't in a room together. And you don't have to call her a complete liar. But everything she's said -- about her injuries to her job, her reactions to this, her reasons for filing suit -- it's not going to add up."

Seymour "Sy" Parrish is a photo technician at a one-hour photo in big-box store SavMart. He lives alone with a pet hamster, has no friends or love life, and lives only for his work, which he considers a "vital service". His favorite customers are the Yorkin family, whose photos he has developed for many years. Over the years, he has grown obsessed with the family, enshrining them in his home with their photos that he secretly copies.
Sy eventually manages to spark a connection with Nina Yorkin when he pretends to be interested in a book that he saw her purchase. Nina learns that Sy lives a solitary existence, something only her son Jake had considered previously. The next day, store manager Bill Owens discovers, through an audit investigation on company expenditures, that over the span of nine years, Sy has printed many more prints than those that have been ordered and paid for by the customers. For this, as well as other infractions, such as spacing out on the job, unauthorized 90-minute lunch breaks, giving away free merchandise (including a camera for Jake's birthday), and causing an altercation with the developing machine's repairman in front of customers, Sy is fired from SavMart. Bill allows him to finish the week, although Sy is devastated.
While inspecting a customer's photos, Sy discovers that Will Yorkin is having an affair, and his idyllic conception of the Yorkins as the perfect family is shattered. He surreptitiously places the photos of Will and his mistress, Maya Burson, into a packet of photos that Nina was scheduled to pick up. Meanwhile, Sy takes paparazzi-style photos of Bill's young daughter, sends the film with the photos to Yoshi (another SavMart employee), who turns them over to Bill, who reports the matter to the police.
While detectives James Van Der Zee and Paul Outerbridge discover Sy's obsession, Sy confronts Will and Maya during a rendezvous in their hotel room. Armed with a knife and a camera, Sy forces the lovers to pose naked in sexual positions while he takes pictures. After the confrontation, Sy notices that the police have arrived at the hotel, and escapes through an emergency exit. The exit door trips an alarm, and Van Der Zee pursues Sy while Outerbridge finds Will and Maya physically unharmed but emotionally traumatized. The police apprehend Sy in the parking garage. On his arrest, Sy claims "I just took pictures."
In the police interrogation room, Van Der Zee asks why Sy terrorized Will and Maya. Sy says that he can tell Van Der Zee is a good father who would never commit adultery or take "disgusting, sick, degrading pictures" of his children (implying that Sy's own father exploited him for child pornography), and the affair between Will and Maya sparked his traumatic memory, which Sy had to avenge. Satisfied with his candid testimony, Van Der Zee expresses his appreciation. Sy requests to see the pictures that he took at the hotel, which Van Der Zee turns over to him, who methodically displays them on the table. They appear to be only shots of objects and furnishings of a hotel room. After he is left alone in the room, Sy imagines himself as being part of a happy family picture of the Yorkins, with Will's arm around a smiling Sy.

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — The Bosnian Serbs and the Muslim-led Bosnian government have agreed to begin a cease-fire on Friday as a small first step toward ending the 32-month civil war, former President Jimmy Carter announced Tuesday.
The modest agreement--one of many proposed cease-fires over the course of the war--came after an unscheduled second round of meetings between Carter and the Bosnian Serb leadership in nearby Pale. Carter called the extra session after conflicting claims about the results of their high-profile talks on Monday threatened to sink his entire peace mission.
Carter announced Monday that Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic had agreed to an immediate cease-fire, but Karadzic backed away from the claim a few hours later.
The Bosnian government was so angered by the theatrics that President Alija Izetbegovic refused to meet with Carter when he returned to Sarajevo late Monday, choosing to make the former U.S. President wait until morning, sources said.
"We have had this character 2 1/2 years, and he lies every day," said Bosnian Vice President Ejup Ganic, referring to Karadzic. "Make sure that you know with whom you deal."
Carter, said to be alarmed and betrayed by Karadzic's antics on Monday, made Tuesday's cease-fire announcement in Pale standing shoulder to shoulder with him.
After driving the mountainous road to Sarajevo, Carter repeated the announcement at the airport en route to Belgrade, where he plans to hold talks with Serbian leaders.
"There will be a complete cease-fire in all of Bosnia-Herzegovina, including Bihac, to go into effect at noon on Dec. 23," Carter said. "This cease-fire is to be completely monitored, without interference, by UNPROFOR (U.N. Protection Force) troops, interposing themselves between the opposing military units wherever necessary."

On 10 June 1944, four days after D-Day, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne in Nazi-occupied France was destroyed when 643 civilians, including non-combatant men, women, and children, were massacred by a German Waffen-SS company as collective punishment for Resistance activity in the area including the capture and subsequent execution of Waffen SS Sturmbannfuhrer Helmut Kämpfe, who an informant claimed had been burned alive in front of an audience. Kämpfe was a highly decorated commander in the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich.
The Germans murdered everyone they found in the village at the time, as well as people brought in from the surrounding area. The death toll includes people who were merely passing by in the village at the time of the SS company's arrival. Men were brought into barns and sheds where they were shot in the legs and doused with gasoline before the barns were set on fire. Women and children were herded into a church that was set on fire; those who tried to escape through the windows were machine gunned. Extensive looting took place.
All in all, 643 people are recorded to have been murdered. The death toll includes 17 Spanish citizens, 8 Italians (a woman with 7 of her 9 children), and 3 Poles.
Six people escaped the massacre. The last living survivor, Robert Hébras, known for his activism for reconciliation between France, Germany, and Austria, died on 11 February 2023, aged 97. He was 18 years old at the time of the massacre.
The village was never rebuilt. A completely new village was built nearby after the war. President Charles de Gaulle ordered that the ruins of the old village be maintained as a permanent memorial and museum.

Janine Marilyn Brookner (née Okun; December 26, 1940 – May 11, 2021) was an American lawyer and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer.
CIA career
Brookner joined the CIA's training program in 1968 as one of six women in a total class of sixty-six. She trained at The Farm, where her instructors recommended that she work as an analyst. Instead, she took a position as a case officer for the Directorate of Operations and in March 1969, she was sent to Manila, Philippines. While there, she met Colin Thompson, a fellow case officer, and was later described by the station chief, George Kalaris, as one of the best officers. She recruited informants and infiltrated the Philippines Communist Party.
In the 1980s, Brookner was sent to Manhattan where she was appointed as the CIA division chief for the United Nations. She was responsible for contacting diplomats from the Soviet Union, recruiting them to work for the United States government, and surveilling other Communist delegations. While in this assignment, she reported a fellow CIA officer, Aldrich Ames, to her superiors because she believed that he was a security risk but no action was taken at the time.
Brookner resigned her position at the CIA on December 23, 1994, but was required to maintain her undercover status during retirement.
Death
Brookner died on May 11, 2021, in Washington, D.C.

OPENING CREDITS
Night. A car pulls up in front of Jack O'Neill's house and Major Samuels climbs out. He walks up to the front porch and knocks on the door. No one answers, and the camera pans up to the roof.
DRIVER: Sir. There's a ladder over here.
The view pans up to show O'Neill on the roof, looking at the night sky through a telescope. A laptop rests on a small table beside him. Samuels climbs up the ladder to join O'Neill.
SAMUELS: Colonel Jack O'Neill?
O'NEILL: (not looking up) Retired.
SAMUELS: I'm Major Samuels.
O'NEILL: Air Force?
SAMUELS: Yes, sir. I'm the General's executive officer.
O'NEILL: A little piece of advice, Major? Get re-assed to NASA. That's where all the action's gonna be. (Brief shot of O'Neill's POV, at the cluster of stars in the scope.) Out there.
SAMUELS: I'm under orders to bring you to General Hammond, sir.

Hearing that, O'Neill finally turns away from the telescope.
Same evening. The car passes through a military gate, heavily guarded by soldiers, heading down into a tunnel cut into the side of the mountain - the entrance to the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. Cut to a shot of an elevator shaft, then the interior of the elevator, where O'Neill and another officer [with mismatched uniform insignia] are standing. O'Neill notices how deep they're descending - the elevator goes all the way down to Sub-Level 11.
The elevator doors slide open, and O'Neill follows the officer down the corridors, looking around curiously.
INTERCOM: Red team number 9 to Sub-Level 2, red shaft 24.
They stop at a security checkpoint, and O'Neill signs in on a clipboard. The officer leads him to another elevator.
OFFICER: We have to take a second elevator the rest of the way, sir. It's a long way down.
O'Neill hands the clipboard back as the officer opens the elevator, and they step inside.
O'NEILL: I've been here before.
OFFICER: (mismatched uniform insignia) Ah. Of course.
He presses a button, and the elevator doors close. They open on the lowest level, and O'Neill and the officer step out to meet Samuels, who is waiting for them.
SAMUELS: This way, sir.
Cut to Hammond's office. Hammond is looking over a report when Samuels pounds on the door.
HAMMOND: Come.
Samuels enters, with O'Neill right behind him.
SAMUELS: General Hammond, Colonel Jack O'Neill.
O'NEILL:(as Samuels closes the door) Retired.
HAMMOND: I can see that. Me, I'm on my last tour; time to start getting my thoughts together. Maybe write a book. You ever think about writing a book about your exploits in the line of duty?
O'NEILL: Thought about it. But then I'd have to shoot anyone who actually read it. (Neither Hammond nor Samuels respond.) That's a joke, sir. Most of my work for the past ten years has been classified.

WALLACE: I've seen this writing before.

(He shines his flashlight around and sees a small illuminated panel on the wall by the bulkhead. He presses it and the panel in the bulkhead spins rapidly, then the doors part and reveal Doctor Rush standing at the far end of the room in front of an enormous floor to ceiling window. Outside is a view which shows that they are moving through space. It's not the same vortex as a hyperspace field, but it clearly is space they're travelling through.)
