I noted before that I was 6 years, 5 months, 30 days, old on 9/2/1965, which I recognize as my first day at Princeton University. I have also noted details that suggest the USS Ray SSN-653 was given that hull number for that reason.

This first episode of the regular series of "The Six Million Dollar Man" premiered 653 days before 11/2/1975, which I recognize as the day I left Earth on my mission to divert the comet. The first actual episode of "The Six Million Dollar Man" that aired in 1973 presents, along with other details I've described, an association to 7/2/1976, which is the day I recognize as when I arrived at the comet and set to work at diverting it. The schedule for my mission to the comet had been worked and planned well in advance of my mission.

I believe this is one in a series of signals among my family and associates about my status after my strike on the comet. I assume it means we were hoping I would find a source of oxygen at Jupiter in the form of water ice. I noted earlier the "Warship" episodes that suggest I did find a source of oxygen and that I was going to make it back to Earth.

The Ides of Mark

Episode Number: 28
Season Num: 3
First Aired: Tuesday March 2, 1976

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ides_Of_March

In the Roman calendar, the Ides of March was a term used to denote 15 March. In general, the Ides fell on the 15th day of the months of March, May, July, or October, or the 13th day of any other month.[1] The term had real meaning only in the traditional Roman calendar, which was displaced by the Julian calendar in 46 BC; however, it was still used in a colloquial sense for centuries afterwards to denote the middle of the month.

In modern times, the term is best known because of Julius Caesar having been assassinated on the Ides of March in 44 BCE, the story of which was famously retold in William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar.[2] The term has come to be used as a metaphor for impending doom.

Assassination of Julius Caesar

Caesar summoned the Senate to meet in the Theatre of Pompey on the Ides of March. A certain seer warned Caesar to be on his guard against a great peril on the day of the month of March which the Romans call the Ides; and when the day had come and Caesar was on his way to the senate-house, he greeted the seer with a jest and said: "Well, the Ides of March are come," and the seer said to him softly: "Ay, they are come, but they are not gone."[3]

As the Senate convened, Caesar was attacked and stabbed to death by a group of senators who called themselves the Liberatores ("Liberators"); they justified their action on the grounds that they committed tyrannicide, not murder, and were preserving the Republic from Caesar's alleged monarchical ambitions.

176 - Remarks on Awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor to Four Members of the Armed Forces.

March 4th, 1976

We are gathered here today to honor four Americans for exceptional military gallantry in the service of our Nation. All four of these men distinguished themselves above and beyond the call of duty. I deeply regret that one of the awards, to the late Captain Lance P. Sijan, of the United States Air Force, is posthumous. The other three, Rear Admiral James P. Stockdale, United States Navy; Colonel George E. Day, United States Air Force; and Lieutenant Thomas R. Norris, United States Naval Reserve, are here with us today.

Lofton R. Henderson (b. 24 May 1903, Lorain, Ohio – 4 June 1942) was a naval aviator in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was the commanding officer of VMSB-241 at the Battle of Midway and is recognized as the first Marine aviator to die during that battle while leading his squadron to attack the Japanese carrier forces.

Navy Cross citation

The Navy Cross is presented to Lofton R. Henderson, Major, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism as Squadron Commander of Marine Scout-Bombing Squadron TWO HUNDRED FORTY-ONE (VMSB- 241), during action against enemy Japanese forces in the Battle of Midway on June 4, 1942. With utter disregard for his own personal safety, Major Henderson, with keen judgment and courageous aggressiveness in the face of strong enemy fighter opposition, led his squadron in an attack which contributed materially to the defeat of the enemy. He was subsequently reported as missing it action. It is believed he gallantly gave up his life in the service of his country.
