Kongō DDG-173

I noted that the lead ship for the Kongō-class was '173.' I assume that the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force asked me if I wanted to decide on the schedules for these ships and I made these calculations. I noted earlier that Part 1 of the series finale of the "Adam-12" television series, titled "Something Worth Dying For," was episode number 173 and I also noted that the commissioning date of the Royal Navy's HMS Arrow F173 in 1976. I was 17.3 years old on 7/2/1976 and I believe that is the reason for these numerical sequences.

The keel for Kongō DDG-173 was laid on 5/8/1990, according to the article link as referenced.

From 7/4/1976 to 5/8/1990 is: 13 years, 44 weeks

'1344'

From 3/3/1959 to 7/16/1963 is: 13 days, 4 months, 4 years

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keel

A structural keel is a large beam which the hull of a ship is built around. The keel runs in the middle of the ship, from the bow to the stern, and serves as the foundation or spine of the structure, providing the major source of structural strength of the hull. The keel is generally the first part of a ship's hull to be constructed, and laying the keel, or placing the keel in the cradle in which the ship will be built, is often a momentous event in a ship's construction--so much so that the event is often marked with a ceremony, and the term lay the keel has entered the language as a phrase meaning the beginning of any significant undertaking.

The 9/26/1991 launch date for DDG-173 was 173.4 months after 4/14/1977.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kong%C5%8D_class_destroyer

The Kongo class of guided missile destroyers, a modification of the United States of America (U.S.) Navy Arleigh Burke class (Flight I), serves as the core ship of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF)'s Escort Flotillas. The Kongo class employs the highly advanced Aegis fire control system and is armed with the RIM-66 SM-2 Block II surface-to-air missile, RUM-139 vertically launched anti-submarine rocket, the RGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile, two Mark 15 20 mm CIWS gun mounts, two torpedo mounts in a triple tube configuration, and an Oto Melara 127 mm/54 caliber gun. Its Mark 41 vertical launch system can hold 90 missiles. However, in keeping with the defensive mission of the JMSDF and passive role of the Japan Self-Defense Forces in general, the Kongo-class lacks the Tomahawk missile.

All Kongo-class destroyers take their names from Japan's mountains, the class name referring to Mount Kongo.

Kirishima DDG-174 was the second ship of the Kongō-class.

JOURNAL ARCHIVE: Thursday, May 10, 2007

I have this memory today, it seems like I have had it for 20 years, but I'm not sure about that. It was 1986 and we were at Micheal's funeral. His father, Denzil, my step-father, was grief-stricken over the death of his son. I was still in shock at that time. He told me that I was the only son he had left and that he was the only father I had left. My father had died the previous year. I remembered how Micheal told me at the funeral that he was sorry about my father dying.

I look at this one photo of a person who may have been my friend in my real life....I see a similarity to a woman I worked with at Microsoft. I like her. She was from Canada I think, of Egyptian descent. People talked about her being a lawyer before working at Microsoft as a TAM, but from what she told me, she had dropped out of law school. She and I were dancing at the Christmas party one time. She drove me home. I quipped at one point, for some reason, about how I had spent so much time in the North Atlantic, my offspring would be eskimo. I wanted to invite her up to my apartment when she dropped me off, but decided against it.

ah, damn......that princess with the pink car.....wish I could find the photo.....

I haven't seen the movie, but lately some previews for Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai have been playing on tv. There is something about that woman, where she reminds me of someone I was with. I have this unexplained sadness when I see her in those previews. And it feels like something is missing, I have this feeling that something is missing, can't explain it.

I keep having these curious sensations that seem to be of me landing on the ground, and I assume I am strapped to a parachute because I can't see the parachute. I'm not certain how long I have been consciously aware of that sensation. In these sensations, I am almost, but partially, visualizing myself looking down at my legs as I am about to hit the ground. I can distinquish the color of the ground and some basic details about the texture of the ground. I can see the black military boots and I am wearing and what seems to be a green flight pressure suit that fighter jet pilots would wear. I see the image clearly in my mind, but I find it confusing because I don't consciously remember any such experience so I can only describe it as something I partially visualize, which seems curious itself. I used to describe such sensations as 'foreign dream,' because they seemed to have been produced by sources outside my mind, although this particular sensation about landing on the ground with a parachute while wearing a flight suit occurred to me after I had been awake for a while. Such waking images have probably been occurring to me for a long time but only the similar dreams would stay within my attention span for some reason.
