Credit for originating the holiday is generally given to Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, whose father, a Civil War veteran, raised her and her five siblings after their mother died in childbirth. She is said to have had the idea in 1909 while listening to a sermon on Mother’s Day, which at the time was becoming established as a holiday. Local religious leaders supported the idea, and the first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910

I've either never seen the 1968 "Rosemary's Baby" or I watched it once and didn't really pay attention to it.
Watching it today now I think about my high school prom date in 1984.
The reason I stopped to make this note is because of the elevator scene near the ending.
Those old elevators with the attendant-operator must have not had automatic controls that stop it precisely on the floor. Looks as though the operator would have to adjust the control to make it stop at the correct position.

This would be really funny if not for a couple things.
One, I looked closer at it and I found something new and ominous I hadn't seen until today.
Two, the Jesus Christ bible-thumpers that infest this planet Earth can really do some damage because of their ridiculous fairy-tale.
Jesus Christ bible-thumpers are cowardly terrified of mortality.
So anything comes along and nudges them towards that direction and scares the shit out of them even more and those ridiculous morons will be chumped into doing anything their Jesus Christ scam-artist leaders tell them.
What makes it worse is their cowardice.
They're too cowardly - in the first place - but there is also the fact they are too cowardly to act alone. So what ever mayhem they cause will be destruction caused by their moronic masses.
I haven't watched that 1968 film in a very long time - if ever - but it is in the tv listings today and recently and I was thinking about it. There was broadcast television miniseries a few years ago of a remake they did and I remember writing in my blog about that production.
