In August 2005, California cold case investigators connected a single fingerprint to Duncan in an unsolved homicide. The case, cold since 1997, is the murder of 10-year-old Anthony Michael Martinez, a resident of Beaumont, California. Anthony was abducted April 4, 1997 right in front of his friends after an unknown male approached them with an offer of one dollar, if they help him find his missing cat. The boys refused the offer, but the stranger grabbed Anthony by the collar, placed a knife near his throat, and threw him into a white vehicle. Anthony's nude body was found April 19 near Indio, California. His hands were bound with duct tape, where the killer left his fingerprint. Duncan is believed to have been in the southern California region around April 1997. It is unknown when Duncan will be formally charged. If charged and convicted he may face a life sentence in Federal Supermax Prison in Florence, Colorado.
In January 2007, Robert Pacheco, the Riverside, California District Attorney, stated he will seek to extradite Duncan to California for the 1997 murder. If convicted he will face the death penalty from the state of California.

Duncan responsible for 3 deaths at Idaho home, authorities say

Authorities believe the man accused of kidnapping 8-year-old Shasta Groene and her brother is also responsible for killing three people at the family home, a sheriff's spokesman said this morning.
The pair of first-degree-kidnapping charges do not say who the victims are, but identify them as 8-year-old "S.G." and 9-year-old "D.G" because they are minors. The abductions, charging papers said, occurred during the period of May 15 to July 2, and added that the children were held both in and out of the state of Idaho.

D. B. Cooper is the name attributed to a man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in the United States on November 24, 1971, received US$200,000[1] in ransom, and parachuted from the plane vanishing without a trace. The name he used to board the plane was Dan Cooper, but through a later press miscommunication, he became known as "D. B. Cooper". Despite hundreds of leads through the years, no conclusive evidence has surfaced regarding Cooper's true identity or whereabouts, and the bulk of the money has never been recovered. The nature of Cooper's escape and the uncertainty of his fate continue to intrigue people. The Cooper case (code-named "Norjak" by the FBI)[3] remains an unsolved mystery, and along with Malaysia Airlines Flight 653 is one of the world's few unsolved cases of aircraft hijacking.
The Cooper case has baffled government and private investigators for decades, with countless leads turning into dead ends. As recently as March 2008, the FBI thought it might have had one of the biggest breakthroughs in the case when children unearthed a parachute within the bounds of Cooper's probable jump site near the town of Amboy, Washington.[4] Experts later determined that it did not belong to the hijacker.
Despite the case's enduring lack of evidence, a few significant clues have arisen. In late 1978 a placard containing instructions on how to lower the aft stairs of a 727, later confirmed to be from the rear stairway of the plane from which Cooper jumped, was found just a few flying minutes north of Cooper's projected drop zone. In February 1980, eight-year-old Brian Ingram found $5,880 in decaying $20 bills on the banks of the Columbia River.[5]
In October 2007, the FBI claimed that it had obtained a partial DNA profile of Cooper from the tie he left on the hijacked plane.[6] On December 31, 2007, the FBI revived the unclosed case by publishing never-before-seen composite sketches and fact sheets online in an attempt to trigger memories that could possibly identify Cooper. FBI makes new plea in D.B. Cooper case

Maybe, he said, some clever hydrologist armed with satellite technology can trace the Cooper cash found on the Columbia River in 1980 back to the very creek or stream where it fell from the sky on that fabled night in 1971. That might lead to the body of Cooper itself.
On Monday, the FBI renewed its plea for help from the public in solving the case in a news release that took the top spot Monday on the FBI Web site.
Carr, a special agent in the Seattle office — and an avowed D.B. Cooper buff — took over the Cooper case file last year and has been ratcheting up its profile.
"It's a mystery, frankly," the FBI said in the Monday news release. "We've run down thousands of leads and considered all sorts of scenarios. And amateur sleuths have put forward plenty of their own theories. Yet the case remains unsolved. Would we still like to get our man? Absolutely."
On Nov. 24, 1971, Thanksgiving eve, the man who bought a ticket as Dan Cooper hijacked a Northwest Orient flight from Portland to Seattle. He collected four parachutes and $200,000 in ransom money in Seattle and then leapt out the back stairwell as the plane flew south somewhere over Ariel, Cowlitz County, on a cold, nasty, rainy night.

Still in search of D.B. Cooper

A man identified in a recent magazine article as possibly having been the infamous plane hijacker D.B. Cooper was almost certainly not him, the FBI said Friday.
While the man's face resembled a composite sketch of Cooper, the height, weight, eye color and skin tone were all too far off, said Special Agent Larry Carr, who has been assigned to the long-
unsolved case for the past six months.
Cooper hijacked a Northwest Orient Airlines flight from Portland in 1971 and parachuted out with $200,000 in ransom money. His fate remains unknown, but Carr said he believes Cooper died in the jump.
New York magazine recently found a Minnesota man, Lyle Christiansen, who believed his brother Kenneth, of Bonney Lake, Wash. — a Northwest employee and former paratrooper — was D.B. Cooper.
But the man was 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds, at least 4 inches shorter and about 30 pounds lighter than Cooper. Kenneth Christiansen, who died of cancer in 1994, had hazel eyes, not brown, and he had pale skin, not olive.

In the hijacking, a man who identified himself as Dan Cooper boarded a plane headed for Seattle on Nov. 24, 1971, told the crew once the plane was in the air that he had a bomb and demanded $200,000 and parachutes. When the plane landed at Seattle, he released the passengers in exchange for the money and ordered the pilot to fly toward Mexico. While in the air, Cooper apparently then jumped from the rear stairway of the plane.
The jumper later became known as D.B. Cooper after authorities questioned and then released a man named Daniel B. Cooper. That man was cleared, but the name stuck.

This is Phoebe on the cover of "Seventeen" magazine dated April 1979, which was 33 months after July 1976 and 34 months after June 1976. I would think to myself that I was grateful that certain parts of the lyrics for "Hotel California," which I assume I created to describe my activities in 1976 when I was 17, didn't come true and that Phoebe and I would get to live together happily ever after.

Alexis Brimeyer (1946-1995) was a false pretender who claimed connection to various European thrones. He used fraudulent combined titles like Prince d'Anjou Durazzo Durassow Romanoff Dolgorouki de Bourbon-Conde. He also sold bogus titles of nobility through "orders" he and his associates had created.
Brimeyer was born May 4, 1946 in Costermansville (now Bukavu), Zaire. His Belgian mother Beatrice divorced his father Victor Brimeyer two months later and remarried 1950 in England with Ferdinand Fabry.
Brimeyer's first attempt to ennoble himself came when he named himself Brimeyer de la Calchuyére in the 1950s. This came to nothing. In 1955 he took a name His Serene Highness Prince Khevenhuller-Abensberg but real princess Khevenhuller threatened to sue him; he backpedaled and apologized. He also wrote to number of aristocrats trying to get them to adopt him. In 1969 he received a passport of the principality of Sealand with a name His Highness Prince Alexis Romanov Dolgorouki. When he contracted Brussels orthodox priest Jean Maljinowski to be baptized, the priest got suspicious because this supposed prince did not speak a word of Russian.
Brimeyer commissioned two death certificates that were published in Le Soir. Through them, he claimed that Nikolai Dolgorouki, his supposed father, had used a false name of Nicholas di Fonzo to escape the October Revolution and lived under that name. Note that Bolsheviks executed real Nikolai Dolgorouki after the Revolution.
Princess Khevenhuller-Abensberg, Maria Dolgoroukoff and Prince Alexander Pavlovich Dolgorouki sued Brimeyer. They charged that Brimeyer was using their noble titles with malicious intent. Prosecutor presented large number of fraudulent documents, including letter where emperor Charles V supposedly ennobles Brimeyers. Court noted that his claim of marriage between his "grandfather" prince Dolgorouki and his "grandmother", supposedly survived Maria Nikolayevaco, was false. November 24, 1971 Brimeyer was sentenced to jail for 18 months but by then he had fled to Greece from where he sent a letter to the prosecutor. In it he claimed descent from such luminaries as emperors of Byzantium.
In Greece Brimeyer presented himself in the police station, said that his passport had been stolen and requested temporary documents. He registered himself as Alexis Romanov Dolgorouki and for the next ten years he used those documents to "prove" his status.
1979 Brimeyer was living in Spain and contacted the cadet line of the Anjou Durassos. He convinced some of them to give their support and recognize him as the head of the royal house of Anjou-Durazzo. 1982 he published a book "I, Alexis, Great Grandson of the Tsar" by "H.R.H. Prince Alexis d'Anjou Romanov-Dolgorouki, Duke of Durazzo". The book included a "will" where Vassili d'Anjou Durassow supposedly recognized him as his only son. Thus he claimed connection to the house of Anjou and the throne of Naples.
Brimeyer claimed Victor Brimeyer was not his father. He claimed that after his mother divorced Brimeyer she married Vassili d'Anjou Durassow on 15 April 1947 and that he was born exactly two years after his real birth date. Note that Durassow never actually married and was possibly homosexual. This supposed marriage was then annulled and she married Prince Igor Dolgorouki on 6 September 1948. Note that she married Farby two years later. Brimeyer claimed that the couple had been elected as royal rulers of Ukraine and had resigned 1939.
In August 1984 Brimeyer's mother, now styled Princess Olga Beatrice Nikolaevna Romanovskaia Dolgoroukaia, Princess of the Ukraine, Countess di Fonzo married Major General Bruce-Alfonso de Bourbon, Prince of Condé (another pretender, real name Bruce Chalmers). After the wedding the supposed prince adopted Brimeyer. This gave Brimeyer an excuse to add a title Bourbon-Conde and a supposed link to throne of Navarre. Note that the last known member of the house of Conde hanged himself 1830.
Next Brimeyer begun to claim that his father was the son of prince Dolgorouki. He again claimed that prince Dolgorouki had married Grand Duchess Maria Nicolaevna, who had supposedly escaped her execution in Ekaterinburg and that his mother was their only daughter. He also claimed that his alleged grandfather had been elected King of Ukraine and somehow convinced some orthodox priests that he was the heir of a throne that does not actually exist. Thus he claimed connection to Romanovs and the throne of Russia.
Brimeyer sent numerous letters to king Juan Carlos and demanded recognition. In some stage he had married and sired a son. He also managed to convince the British College of Arms to include himself in some of the documents.
In 1992 two Greater Serbian-nationalists including Vojislav Šešelj visited Brimeyer in Spain, supposedly to offer him the throne of Serbia. Brimeyer told the journalists that he had been in touch with Slobodan Miloševiæ who was supposedly in favor of restoring the Serbian monarchy, in the form of Greater Serbia including most of former Yugoslavia. At that sage he used a title Prince Alexis II Nemanitch Romanov Dolgorouki, Grand Master of the (fraudulent) Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. He had convinced his Serbian nationalist supporters that he was descended, in a very convoluted manner, from Hrebeljanovic Nemanitch.
Brimeyer claimed to have accepted the throne of Serbia. There at least appeared to be some support. The European Monarchist Association published a communiqué where it stated Brimeyer's real identity. The scheme appears to have collapsed.

CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq (AP) - U.S. forces may be close to unlocking the mystery of who is behind a deadly innovation in Iraqi insurgents' weapons, a "lob bomb" now being used in Baghdad to target U.S. and Iraqi combat outposts, a senior American general said Friday in an Associated Press interview.
Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, commander of U.S. forces in Baghdad, called the weapon "the greatest threat right now that we face," and he likened the shadowy group behind it to the American military's elite Delta Force.
Hammond said the perpetrators are so skilled that he has likened their organization to the U.S. military's secretive and elite Delta Force. He said they have demonstrated an unusual degree of military skill and cunning.
"They don't leave a forensic trail, and that just means we're going to have to work a little bit longer" to eliminate them, he said. "Of everything we've had to deal with here, this is a tough one. They're sort of the Delta Force of this enemy we face out there. They are very good" at covering their tracks, picking out targets and preserving secrecy about their membership and movements.
