Today is 01/04/2024, post #2

Thought I would finish today the final episodes of the Apple-tv streaming-video serial "See". The streaming-video serial ends with season 3. I've been hoping they would include content describing the origins of the virus that caused the human survivors to lose their vision. It's really a pretty good story. In season 3, I'm noticing more decepit buildings and vehicles that couldn't possibly be 600 years old. In season 1, most striking with the beautiful scenery, lost
Earlier, I worked out connections interesting to me about Ranger wanting to know why he could never sneak up on Baba Voss and that became very clear to me personally, when I watched it for the first time yesterday, the calendar-day 01/02/2024. I stopped watching at that point, resuming today to learn the fate of that House of Enlightenment
The second to last episode, they just blindly launched their super-weapon attack on their rivals, the other mud-hut people
Got bored, decided to watch rest of it later
Looked around for something else
Made no conscious decision because of the title but the episode summary seemed interesting and I quickly grabbed at it
Fairly boring but is compelling enough to continue watching
British movies are hard to understand because of notions that are understood only in their society. I've seen enough now to wonder if that Joe guy is raging at Mrs. Stritton because she is supposed to represent some larger element of British society in the 1940s. I don't know what it is. From the dialog, I can only guess that one or both is homosexual. She wants kids, her wimpy husband does not? He passionately kisses her at one point and presumably that is supposed to be a grand moment of the story. Maybe it's just that British woman are usually unattractive to British men. Maybe Joe is raging because she's a prude. Maybe they're an inbred-gene-pool and the men see facial resemblance to their male relatives. There was a time - and maybe it still exists in primitive societies such as Iran - when blood-type was thought to better if everyone had the same type and that was more likely when inbreeding was encouraged. That's basically what the Royal Family is about, in my opinion, along with their general uselessness.
Maybe he just doesn't like her because she's a snob with an overinflated sense of importance. Her attempt to seem superior being a defensive mechanism because she knows that she's ultimately useless at everything, just as with any royalty.
So Joe rages at her
Haniwah starts thinking the villagers *should be* more afraid of her kind
Content gave me ideas of stuff to look at to develop and assemble the content for this note
Because it reinforces certain notions I insist are probably true
AND SINCE those notions are probably true then it will take some work for me to get anywhere with it
And if I get everything I want... *then* what?
by me, Kerry Burgess, 01/03/2024 1:06 PM
Must remind myself again none of that fantastic stuff existed for me before May 10, 2006
Back in the bad old days of 2006 I would have probably recognized the name of the actress Phoebe Cates but she wasn't someone I thought of often or even rarely
Then in 2007 that really changed
Now she's just some random lady in a store
But thanks to my journals from my "Thomas Ray" days, she remains a presence in my mind
Each and every day I labor here to undo the year 2006

Excuse me. Why don't we just jump back to earlier in the war?
The Jumplink doesnt work that way.
Jumplink?
Its the temporal displacement device housed in a fortified location
Time only flows in one direction. Its like a river. The Jumplink placed two rafts on that river, 30 years apart.
Now, we can jump back and forth between them, but both rafts will always keep moving forward.
So, why cant we just build more rafts?
The Jumplink tech is held together with chewing gum and chicken wire.
We've barely managed to make one very rudimentary wormhole. If we werent in an extinction-level event, we'd still be jumping lab rats.

BRIG. Elizabeth has been returned to the cell.
WEIR: They're gonna wipe our memories and then start again on another planet. That probe was sent by Oberoth and the other Replicators. Our friends out there tried to destroy it, but they only managed to disable it.
McKAY: If that thing hadn't crashed into the city, who knows how long this could have gone on?
WEIR: Yeah, but the point is, this position's been compromised. Once the other Replicators find this city, they'll destroy it.
SHEPPARD: Oh, yeah, and us too.
TEYLA: Is that any worse than having our memories erased and starting this whole process again?
DEX: We've gotta find a way out of here.
(Jennifer comes in and walks over to the cell.)
KELLER: I'm sorry it's come to this.
WEIR: Listen to me. You have probed our minds. You know everything there is to know about us. You should know, we will never accept this. No matter how many times you wipe our memories, we'll always figure it out.

from my private journal, as me, Kerry Burgess, typed after being released from the USA Veterans Affairs psychiatric hospital enduring many months sitting in a grungy two-computer room in a homeless shelter on the waterfront in downtown Seattle:
by me, Kerry Burgess, year 2006:
I guess it's very possible I was piloting one of the transports or the helos into Iran in 1980. If I flew an F-16 all the way to Baghdad carrying a couple -84s at 100 feet off the ground, then dodged anti-aircraft, I assume very heavy fire judging from my memory from the Wainwright, and then hitting the target, I must have been a pretty good pilot. And I was remembering something Randy Romine said about 100 feet. We were going to go scuba diving in De Queen lake and I asked him how deep we were going. And I remember thinking about, this seems weird, that the lake was deeper than that. What was the point, was something I remember thinking. These questions represent something much different, but I can't figure out what it is.
I'm the proudest homeless guy in this place. So I got that going for me.

LUNAR LEGACY APOLLO 17 1972/2002 / THREE DECADES AGO, WITH THE FLIGHT OF APOLLO 17, EARTHLINGS KICKED UP MOON DUST FOR THE LAST TIME. / The final landing
MARK CARREAU Staff
FRI 12/06/2002
Houston Chronicle
The ultimate strangers in a strange land, travel-weary astronauts Gene Cernan and Harrison "Jack" Schmitt huddled in their tiny Apollo 17 lunar lander, ate military-issue omelets, harmonized "good morning to you" and stumbled through a silly parody of The Night Before Christmas.
The date was Dec. 14, 1972, the day America retreated from the moon.

Apollo 17
Call sign:
Command module: America
Lunar module: Challenger
Apollo 17 was the eleventh manned space mission in the NASA Apollo program. It was the first night launch and the sixth and final lunar landing mission of the Apollo program.
Eugene Cernan is, to date, the last man to have walked on the Moon. Just before he returned to the Lunar Module for the last time, he said,
"As I take man's last step from the surface, back home for some time to come but we believe not too long into the future I'd like to just [say] what I believe history will record that America's challenge of today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And, as we leave the Moon at Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and, God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17."
His last words before liftoff were the more prosaic "Let's get this mother out of here".

Nose art
Nose art is a decorative painting or design on the fuselage of a military aircraft, usually located near the nose, and is a form of aircraft graffiti.
While begun for practical reasons of identifying friendly units, the practice evolved to express the individuality often constrained by the uniformity of the military, to evoke memories of home and peacetime life, and as a kind of psychological protection against the stresses of war and the probability of death.

Step 1: Follow thoughts in my conscious-mind to actions
Step 2: Check for anything interesting *after-the-fact* in my original-work code-pattern
With no conscious idea of what I would find, after-the-fact. As is often the case, results are nothing I had been aware of before-the-fact
When I look back at the past 20 years, there must be a reason this all compels me to inform the public, here, of my observations. I cannot believe I am the only one affected
Why was I pushed into this? Just to brag? To boast about my discoveries just to make myself feel superior to you all? No, I can't believe that. There must be another reason and I believe that reason must be because other people are also affected. Must be random people. Because if it were people I knew personally then I could just send them emails directly. Instead of broadcasting this silly stuff out into the wilds of the global-internetwork. I wrote this paragraph before checking to see what Zefram might have to say about this day back in 1967
I wrote once somewhere long ago that anything never alive can not ever be considered as 'dead'
I'm not revealing the full details here for the specific reason I am making this post. So my specific observations about the computer-game today from the vendor Stream remain private to me. I'm just trying to understand why this is happening to me. Seems to be leading me where I want to go and I want to "cash in" on what I want
I refuse to believe everything I have described was set in complex motion just to leave me with the frustration of false-hope and to cause me to chase meaninglessness for decades until I die off as a tormented old man.

As though the Julian Jaynes bicameral gods are telling me - non-verbally - stories that I will discover in the future. That's a contradiction, however, to the concept Julian Jaynes expertly describes in his book. I am extending his concept about what happened to the people of ancient times and adapting to my own personal observations about my own personal experiences and I am suggesting that everyone today is affected by the notion I theorize. Far as I know, Jaynes never tried to suggest that the human species - past and present - have some sort of "back door" vulnerability to foreign influence by extraterrestrial intelligence. And I am not suggesting E.T. is here *now* and is still mind-controlling people to do stuff they would not have done anyway. Rather, I am more inclined to accept the fictional notion established in tangible form under the name James Corey and his "protomolecule". The human species forced into a collective consciousness by an alien race but they created it more than a billion years ago so don't take it personally.

Chapter 34
Juliette smiled
Rather than give in to the euphoria, she concentrated on the way her boots clomped on the packed earth, noted the feel of the angry wind buffeting against her suit, listened for the faint hiss as grains of sand pelted her from all sides. There was a terrifying world around her, one she could be dimly aware of if she concentrated hard enough, a world she knew but could no longer see.

"A Great Day For Freedom"
On the day the wall came down
They threw the locks onto the ground
And with glasses high we raised a cry for freedom had arrived
On the day the wall came down
The Ship of Fools had finally ran aground
Promises lit up the night like paper doves in flight
I dreamed you had left my side
No warmth, not even pride remained
And even though you needed me
It was clear that I could not do a thing for you
Now life devalues day by day
As friends and neighbors turn away
And there's a change that, even with regret, cannot be undone
Now frontiers shift like desert sands
While nations wash their bloodied hands
Of loyalty, of history, in shades of grey
I woke to the sound of drums
The music played, the morning sun streamed in
I turned and I looked at you
And all but the bitter residues slipped away...slipped away
